Rated 5 out of 5 by from A great lens but doesn’t deserve the “L”. This lens is extremely sharp and helps keep the weight down in the camera bag. Obviously, it’s a good all-around lens for a variety of situations. However, it is an L lens so that means it’s supposed to have dust and moisture protection. My lens was on a camera on a tripod only about a foot and a half above the ground. It tipped into the Merced River and was brought back out as quickly as I could grab a tripod leg. In that time water had already entered the interior. It could not be repaired and because I bought it in 2018, it’s Canon CarePAK had expired

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Superb mid-range lens for R6 As a long time user of Canon gear it has been a long time since a 24-105 mm lens existed of L quality. I had an old EF 24-105 mm that got replaced with the venerable 24-70 f/2.8 mm that I still have, but wished was the range of the old 24-105. But I have to say it sits a lot now that I have this guy. It is sharp and fast and works so well with the R6's Auto-Focus. Together with the EF 100-400 MM IS II using the adapter, I am having more fun than ever. Both are sharp. Lots less bad shots.

I have the regular lense already but wanted to have the control ring on the lense and I thought removing the adapter would make the combination easier to use. Absolutely love this lense! Crisp and clean shots with the ability to control the exposure on the lense in real time! Awesome!

It has greatly reduced my need to carry extra equipment and allows me to stay focused on my subject than switching gear. Third ring option is helpful when customizing. Allows you to stay on the subject at hand and not pull away from your shots. Outstanding product!

I just got this lens, I have taken some nature shoots, and portrait, all have exceeded my expectations! I am still learning this lens and the Canon EOS R. This is a huge step up from DSL to DSL R . The optics are very good and the lens focuses quickly. The stabilization works very well. The programable ring is also very handy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My first and most versatile RF lens I bought the Canon R6 body with this lens in a package deal. I could not be more pleased. The focal range is perfect. The f4.0 is very nice and gives appropriate bokeh if you need it. Canon has just come out with an f2.8 version of this lens, and though I am very tempted, I can see the advantage of the f4.0 in size, weight, and convenience. I have other lenses, but this would be my go-to if I could only take one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great All-Around Lens I had recently purchased the new Canon EOS RP mirrorless camera body and wanted a native RF lens rather than using my EF lenses with the adapter. The RF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM lens is lighter and slightly smaller than the EF version and and brings the rear of the lens much closer to the sensor. I'm very pleased with the image quality of this lens, especially when comparing it to my previously owned EF version. The lens is extremely quiet (AF and IS and the image stabilization works great and is especially useful in low light situations. The 24-105mm range is ideal for an all day walk-around lens. I purchased the lens directly from Canon and as always the lens was packaged well for shipping and I received the lens in a timely manner. I highly recommend the RF 24-105mm if you own either the EOS RP, or EOS R bodies.

Was hoping to be able to use it for landscape shots and I was not let down. This lens performed perfectly in every location. I was very impressed with the sharpness, clarity and color of my images once I downloaded them into Lightroom for some light editing. Do yourself a favor and do not hesitate to buy this lens for your Canon Eos R or RP. You will love it....

Love the 3rd control ring - I have it set to adjust ISO. Everything is very smooth and damped. The nano USM motors are extremely fast for auto-focus and dead silent. Best all around zoom lens I ever used.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the lens, works better than expected for a zoom After having all of Canon's 25-105 lenses over the years, this is my favorite and most sharp. It also works well with video. The only lenses I have found to be sharper are my primes. I used the 24-104 f/4 II on the R and it worked well but this new lens is a game-changer. I am very happy with my purchase. I have also shot test shots from it compared to several other L series lenses and it is sharper than all of my lenses but my 85mm F/1.4. Love it!

I have taken them to Singapore and Hong Kong and taken many pictures under various conditions and they don't sisappoint in any way. The lense takes sharp clear pictures, it's quiet, accurateand and it's my all around lense. I'm so happy that I bought this combo and I strongly recommend the RF24-105mm F4 L IS USM Lense. It's the best investment you can make. You won't regret it !

Its weight and size make it and its EF counterpart for my 5D ideal in my mind. My other main lens is the Canon 100-400 mkII for the 5D. I will likely buy the 100-500 for the R5 when I can afford it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lens is so good I will never buy used from “auction-bay” again. I think we all want a deeply discounted used lens that will be almost as good as a new product. The problem is we turn to large auction websites hoping for that good discount. Well for me the auction sites have failed me way too many times. Example: buy a expensive used lens from “auction-bay” and lens comes and condition looks good but oh no the lens is decentered and not just slightly. The left side of image is out of focus. So is that the fault of the seller or shipper? Not sure but what I do know is all I’ve been getting are decentered lenses from buying used. So if you want to save a lot of money and don’t mind a decentered lens then go ahead. I want my lenses to be performing as good as the best samples out there! Now for Canon’s refurbished lenses I only have one experience and it’s been wonderful. Lens looks brand new like everyone’s been saying. Only difference is you don’t have the original box, but you don’t need it anyway as the lens I have has no reason to be sold anytime soon. The lens was extremely well packaged for the planned bumps and throw around that are possible on shipping carriers. I’m only guessing lenses get decentered elements after ppl ship them in regular padding and the lens gets shocked too much from packages being tossed around and some elements get out of alignment. So my final verdict. I definitely will buy refurbished lenses again from Canon. I won’t be buying new unless there aren’t any refurbs available.
