The RF600mm F11 IS STM super-telephoto lens provides a long 600mm focal length and is the first compact and lightweight 600mm super telephoto lens in the RF lineup. This lens is ideal for bird, wildlife, outdoor sports, and aviation photography. The size of this lens and its retracting design make it a highly portable option which can be stored easily in a camera bag and the built-in optical image stabilization with up to five stops of shake correction makes it easy to use either hand-held or with a monopod. The RF600mm F11 IS STM lens will also accept an RF 1.4X or 2.0X teleconverter to increase your focal length to 840mm or 1200mm respectively.

it really works
I just got my rf 600 mm to use with my RP. I first took a hand held photo of the moon. I'm not good at this but I was impressed with how well it did. It's not heavy, seems sharp within its limits and is fun to use. For the price I am really enjoying this.

Excellent lens
I just bought this lens, and I have to say, I was a little skeptical because of the fixed f/11. I'm totally impressed with this lens.... This lens is totally amazing... It's EXTREMELY sharp, and I'm very picky about sharpness as I'm a pixel peep. It has really nice bokeh when putting distance behind your subject. I couldn't be more thrilled. Thanks, Canon, for such a wonderful lens!

Better than I thought
This lens is very niche and serves a specific purpose. That being said, taking pictures of moon, birds and other wildlife make this a must have. Idk why I never had a lens like this before.

5 Star lens without the 5 Star Price ..
Have been using RF 600 F11 STM for past 6 months on my R6 , and ABSOLUTELY LOVE this Lens .. RF 600 Autofocus is Instantaneous .. Precise .. Quiet .. Images are Clean and Crisp with Excellent Color and Saturation ..
I Actually PREFER this Lens to my EF 100 - 400 L on my 5d mk 4 .. and carry both systems
when shooting wildlife .. ALWAYS go to the R6 with the RF 600 when distance and subject size allow .. I have enlargements in 20 x 30 size with this setup , and Images are Stunning.
This lens can be Carried All day long .. Easily stored when Retracted .. and can be Handheld on stationary subjects at 1/320 second with CONFIDENCE on R6 / R5 body ..
This lens is the Buy of the Century at this Price !

Super light Super Telephoto
I bought this lens for the occasional wildlife or celestial event event photography. I was amazed at how light it is, very easy to carry all day long. The AF was faster than I expected (I am using it with an R6). Images are sharp and have good contrast.
I was able to shoot a good amount into dusk before things got too dark, so the fixed f/11 is really not an issue.
I do think weather sealing is a necessity, however. This will be used outside, almost exclusively, so a lack of weather sealing is a bit concerning.

One trick pony- but it's really really good at that one trick
Used in very specific situations the results are simply outstanding. The specific conditions being daylight, decent contrast, and a stationary subject. Like an eagle in a tree a hundred+ yards away.

High F stop
Bought this lens a while ago and was happy to use it. However, when I tried using it, the high F stop made shooting poor, and all my photos are underexposed. Wouldn't recommend this
