Trust the Original Manufacture for the best ink.
You know you can get the original Canon ink cartridges, even the older ones, from the original manufacture and they will be current production, not old outdated ones found on a shelf some where and sold as new.

Quality ink
Ink - have to have it - hoping the XXL tank lasts longer. I only use Canon ink in my printers as it is high quality and keeps the printer functioning properly.

Convenient and easy to install.
I love the fact that the printer software tells me when the ink is low and directed me to buy it. For me is really convenient because I am not a technology person. Also the ink is easy to replace. I love this printer and Canon service.

Cartridge works fine
Cartridge came in reasonable time and was easy to install. Printing is fine. I'd prefer a business model that raised printer prices to better reflect their costs to produce and reduced cartridge prices to even things out.

Canon cartridges are efficient.
I appreciate the fact that you only have to replace the empty cartridge. Some printers we have had in past, the cartridges are all in one and that certainly increases the frequency and expense of cartridges. This was the reason for replacing a different brand printer for a Canon printer. Much less expensive.

Value vs Risk
I find authentic Canon cartridges are, on average, much better. However, they are exorbitantly expensive and I am trying to determine if their extra cost outweighs the losses and risk of using others.

Be careful not to change your ink cartridge too early
The ink is great, my complaint is with the Pixma printer's low/no ink warning alerts. I was changing my cartridges way too soon and wasting a lot of ink. They need to work on the alerts for this printer.

Poor packaging, no "free" gifts.
The envelope that the cartridge was sent in was flimsy. The cartridge box was "squished", I did not see any inkage leak. I will have better information when I have to use the ink. The "free" magnetic picture holders were not in the package,

Ink is specific to printer.
The ink dribbled out a bit after getting it ready to put into the printer. And it is impossible to get it off most things! Good ink! You make ink tanks just like it for other printers. Why can't they all be compatible? I bought one that fit, but the printer wouldn't recognize it. Couldn't they be made interchangeable? Not only would it save your company money, it would make it more accessible to your customers.
