Rated 5 out of 5 by mcaslan from SL3 - Amazing camera Amazing camera and kit. Best of all it is compatible with the new Webcam driver for Mac and PC so I'm using Zoom to broadcast my son's baseball games. It was between this and the M50 and even though all the techies say M50, I'm still partial to the compatibility with my existing SL1 Lens and body - I can move menses around between cameras.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Im not telling you my nam from Great Camera in General I wanted a camera that could vit a few basic requirements... which would be 4k video, good picture quality, and with a flip screen This camera was pretty expensive, but when I got it, I realized that it was worth every penny, because it had more features and positives than I could ever imagine. I got it, underestimating it greatly. Replacing my old PowerShot ELPH 180, (broke the lens because I am so responsible, this thing had dual pixel AF, and an extremely wide ISO range, and many more features it would take too long to list here. I thought dual pixel AF was only exclusive to the T7i in the Rebel series cameras. The 24.1 megapixels also looks very good. It honestly looks better than 24.1 megapixels. I've been wanting a DSLR for a long time, and this thing has some better qualities than an 80D.I've been a canon customer for a while, and this only encouraged me to keep on using Canon products. This would be a great camera for any situation/profession. 11/10 camera.(Sorry I wasted your time with this "essay")

Rated 5 out of 5 by Archaeologist with Camera from GET THIS ONE! A fantastic camera! I consider myself to be intermediate (definitely not a beginner or advanced) and this is the perfect camera for someone of my skill set. The Auto function is enough to take fantastic pictures and the aperture and shutter priority settings are easy to use and understand. HIGHLY recommend!

Rated 5 out of 5 by CanonSince94 from Excellent entry model, crippled video features A great camera for the price. Ultimately returned it since my video library (grown from the excellent SL1 is all 1080p 24fps—a ubiquitous format which Canon oddly excluded in this newer model. This means I could not use footage from the SL3 alongside footage from this otherwise amazing SL3. Playing games with their customers. Audio levels and cropped 4K 24fps are great on paper and shot an interest in upping the video game of this model. 4K looks great but autofocus speed seems worse than my SL1 and there is a significant crop factor negating my wide lenses. To match my existing 1080p 24fps library in editing software this “upgrade” requires me to shoot in 4K but suffer the crop or buy new glass ($$) or else dump my entire 24fps library. I could also shoot in 25fps and retime either my new 25fps to 24fps or my library of 24fps to 25fps but these are shortcomings no other camera owner has to deal with. The crop issue proved too great for me. I love DSLR cameras and have used Canon exclusively for both photography (Elan series) and video (A1 digital, L1, etc) for video since the early 90s. As a DSLR this is an awesome deal. Sharp, beautiful images and a solid set of tech in an affordable package. Super fast autofocus and I love the optical viewfinder. The WiFi remote shooting is also very slick and easy to setup. Once connected I had no issues with the SL3 automatically syncing up for GPS data while shooting. I would absolutely have kept this camera if 1080p at 24fps were present as it is on every other device. I thought I received a faulty unit and contacted their support who told me it was intentionally not supported on the SL3. Such a shame.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Junito from Good Camera BUT.... I will not say that this is not a good camera. It certainly is BUT...and that is a big BUT....I do not know what canon was thinking when they came out with this model. Usually when a newer model is released, it should be an improvement from previous models. In some ways, it is but in others they took a step backwards with removing features such as 24fps in 1080p video (only available in 4K but with the big crop factor 4K one begs to ask if it is actually worth it. Another HUGE step backwards and one of my biggest complaints is that they removed the center pin which allows you to use 3rd party flashes. Canon I honestly do not understand the value you were trying to provide by doing this. You're actually hurting yourself by making your product less desirable. I would argue that the previous model, the SL2 is a better camera than this one because both these features (which are important to me are available. I actually had sold mines to buy this one and I regret it afterwards.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Tr3a from Canon Rebel SL3 kit This is a great camera! For still photography it has all you need, including full manual. I do not shoot video. The camera is a nice size, close to a 35mm film SLR, not huge behemoths like most cameras today. This is replacing a SL1 which is still working flawlessly. Its main use is for underwater photography, for which it excels.
