Rated 5 out of 5 by from Disappointing Experience with Refurbished EOS R8 I purchased a Canon Refurbished EOS R8, trusting Canon’s official statement that refurbished products must pass comprehensive quality assurance inspections and meet strict operational and cosmetic standards. Unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing. 1. The shipping box arrived damaged, and the seal was not intact. 2. The camera body has visible scratches around the charging port. 3. Even the lens has a noticeable scratch, which clearly should not have passed inspection! The customer service experience was equally frustrating. I contacted support for a replacement, but was transferred between several departments. Finally, one representative was polite, but since the product was out of stock, I could not exchange it. Both the body and the lens were available separately, yet they refused to replace them individually. The only option was to return the product and repurchase it, but the price is now nearly $300 higher than what I originally paid. The replacement policy is only valid for 14 days, and no one can guarantee restocking during that time. The EOS R8 itself is a good product, but Canon’s quality control for refurbished items and the after-sales service have left me extremely disappointed. This was my first purchase from the Canon Online Store, and it has been a very negative experience.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I still like my 5D MKII better, but they are not the same I understand this is supposed to be a better camera. It is lighter, and better electronics. But I guess I was just getting used to my old camera. NOW, a whole new learning curve. Why do they change all of the methods for getting to the same goal. Just to keep people busy I guess.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great deal on a great camera. Refurbished cameras are a great way to save a couple hundred dollars.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great quality I enjoy everything this camera offers, but I really wish you were able to zoom with the remote

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Full frame value Excellent value - the kit lens is fine for jpeg shooting since the camera automatically corrects for CA and vignetting, and the camera handles beautifully. It almost feels "too light" but is solid. Battery life isn't the best but charges with >22W USB-C, which I'm sure you have lying around somewhere.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looking at Buying a Second One and selling my older equipment. Like new. Good packaging. This is the kind of quality I expect from Canon and have never been disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The R8 is Great but the RF24-50mm lens not so much. The camera is really good, great specs and really good image quality if you have a good lens on the camera. The RF24-50mm lens, while light and compact, is not a good lens. That's the reason for the minus one star for this kit. The body alone is worth 5 stars. Raw images require an enormous amount of correction that it's not even worth shooting in raw. The in-camera correction of the JPEGs is okay. So, as a kit, this system is best only for images you plan to upload to a web site. Put a better lens on this camera and it's as good as the R6 Mark II but without IBIS. For me, the RF24-50mm sits in a drawer and I have the RF24-105mm f4L on the R8 for really great images both in JPEG and RAW.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from First Camera I was window shopping for my first camera and telling myself I should start small. But for a little bit more I could get a mechanical shutter. And for a little more than that I could get a full frame. And here we are, R8 kit. Very happy with it. Doesn't take much to learn the menu. I like switching between the different auto functions, and then seeing what I can do in manual mode. As I said first camera, so I'm enjoying all the modes. And mostly just been snapping family shots. Hard to pass up canon's RF line as a newbie with all the new features in this system vs what I've read about their older EF system. Loving it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Superb everyday camera. Had it for a month and it continues to amaze me with its features. My only complaint is the LP-E17 battery.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I'm switching. Nikon glass for sale. Bought 1 month ago. It made me switch from being a 25yr nikon guy with tons invested in glass. I'm now going to this RF lightweight full frame.
