It came with the camera
I am not a professional photographer, but I find the camera and lens work very well for most shots.

Compact and Powerfull
Love the camera. View finder is a little small and the LCD and View finder brightness must be bumped up almost all the way to see when shooting outside in the sun. I wish the kit lens had more of an f-stop range. Plenty of shooting options from its many modes.

LOVE this CAMERA...WOW!
I love this Camera. This is my 4th Canon Camera that I have owned throughout the years and I must say that this one is my favorite. My first SURE SHOT was purchased in the 1980s and I loved it---I used it to death!...It was a non-digital that went out of style of course, so then I bought the next version of the Sure Shot and I had that one for years. But then I bought the Canon sure-shot SX500-IS about 12 years ago, but I wanted a newer one now, so that's why I decided to upgrade. Thus, I just bought this EOS-R100 and WOW, it's even better than my SX500-IS because Canon upgraded their Power Shot cameras, and this one is GREAT~ I love it!

Satisfied
Fun beginner camera. I've already got a lot of great sunset shots of a lake near my house and a waterfall at different speeds. With the lense it came with, closeups of people and nature have been the most impressive.

Great camera for the price.
Great camera for the price. Sure, this camera isn't as advanced as other R models, but the price puts it at a point that it is attainable for people getting into photography and a good camera to learn on and build up Canon lenses, etc. In this case got it for my 13 year old son who is into birding and this is a definite step up from his previous camera. Now he is saving up for a zoom lens.

New User Stoked by EOS experience
The EOS R100 is a major step-up for me, from consumer to entry-level professional grade. So far, it's crawl-walk-run with the deep feature set; but I'm excited at the doors this is opening for me. The interface is very well arranged and thought-out; the only limitation being the energy put into tasting the experience of putting the camera through its paces. I'm totally stoked!

Like a wonderful little mirrorless Rebel
I'd been taking a friend out and letting her shoot my Rebel T6 and my EOS R7, and I decided that it was time she had her own camera. A lot of reviews criticize the lack of features vs. the R50 and R10, but the simplicity makes it a perfect beginner camera. Having less to learn about the camera leaves her more time and energy to develop her photography skills. I became a photographer with my Rebel, and this is truly the mirrorless Rebel. She loves it.

Excellent first camera for teaching teenagers about photography
I bought this for my 8th grade daughter. She wants to learn more about photography, and there is not anything else out there in this price range. It takes great photos, does very well at 6400 iso in low light, allows her to learn about depth of field and aperture settings and slow shutter settings for water falls. The focus is fast, and the camera body is quite small and light weight. Not having a touch screen is not a deal breaker, but it does give new photographers a bad first impression. The EVF is very good. I would have preferred that it had two control wheels instead of the one. You have to toggle back and forth to set the aperture and shutter speed in manual mode with the single control wheel. It has peaking for manual focus which is very useful. The HDR takes a burst of 3 photos and combines them to improve dynamic range. There are quite a few corners cut in terms of 4K video cropping, slow burst rates, small buffer size, one control wheel, no touch screen, and no articulating screen; however, for the target buyer (new photographers) it takes excellent pictures, is easy to use, and is a great photography learning tool.

What a great camera and deal!
Buying a refurbished product through Canon is the way to go! You get a product that works like new and at substantial savings. The EOS R100 is perfect for me. I did not want all the fancy bells and whistles that come with higher-end models but a simple-to-use camera that takes great photos. That is what I got with the EOS R100! This camera will allow me to learn and grow as I venture further into photography. I am more than happy with my purchase and would highly recommend this camera and buying it as a refurbished product through Canon!

Pretty good for me as a beginner
The camera is light weight and easy to use. The sensor is big enough for me at 24 Megapixel and 6000 x 4000 pixel in RAW. I feel like the stabilizer is not good enough though, as many of the images are blurry from shakes. The wifi connected desktop app is pretty good, controls are responsive. When I took a picture on the camera, the image instantly shows up on the app screen on my computer.
The transfer speed is still lacking though, transferring a 20MB image took between 5 to 15 seconds.
Overall, for the price, the camera is good enough for me.

It's a camera
It's simple, it works, better than a default phone camera. I honestly couldn't care less about touchscreen stuff. It's a camera, it takes good photos. Got it for the solar eclipse and it was far better than what my iPhone could take.

Novice shooter prefers Canon R100
Basically seems like a new camera with maybe one tiny finger smudge on the screen. Frankly, so far, this seems like an outstanding camera, despite already having a similar, older camera which has a sensor that's basically the same size. AF on the R100 is more accurate, layout of controls is more ergonomic than the X-A#, easier on the R100 to avoid shutting power on or off by accident, don't have to worry about touching the wrong part of the screen putting the camera into some bizarre unusable mode (I hate touch screen generally, wish phones had keyboards) and easier to avoid hitting the movie record button by accident. On the X-A#, I often just gave up and shot in Auto or programmed Auto because the UI was less intuitive; on the R100, it's way more natural to shoot in Aperture Priority by default, which makes me think about what I'm doing as I used to with my Canonet or Rebel 35mm cameras. And I do think the image processing on the R100 does a bit better with the information on the sensor-- seems less grainy and dithered when I pixel-peep low-light shots, though that's just a vague impression, I haven't set up a careful test. Feels more like shooting a film camera than the X-A5, though I'm sure the X-A5 will still get some use. Have not tested video yet.

Received a defective unit. Camera crashes when in video mode. Only remediation was to go through a month+ long exchange process. Insufficient quality control and remediation.

Canon refurbished EOS R100 kit
The only really bad thing is that it did not come with any instructions for the lens as to set up for use - especially the first. Other than that, it is a really great camera and after downloading the manual, I'm surprised by what it can do, considering the physical size of the camera and lens.

Fun to Use
The differences are amazing. It has been fun playing with this camera. I do not have huge hands but find the dials and buttons move and/or get pressed on accident too often. the dial on the top spins off of the mode I have it in WAY too easy. If you are cognizant of this issue, you can pay better attention to it.
Other than that, the camera body is wonderful. The adapter for old lens use is great if you have invested in good lenses before this type of camera released.

Great budget option to get into a mirrorless.
Alright I've been running this camera for a few days now and so far I've been very happy with it. I wanted to get a mirrorless camera to be able to run more lenses through adapters and what not and this is perfect. I'm not a huge fan of the grip because it is a little small, but I can live with that. The only other issue I have with it is the pictures do get really noisy in low light. From my experience this seems to be a great starter into mirrorless cameras at this price point. Especially if you're coming off of a Rebel T7 like I did you should have no real problems with this one. I've seen many complaints about it lacking a touch screen but in my experience the controls are pretty intuitive and in my opinion, even better than the T7. That being said I would say this is more than worth the value for the refurb price especially for a beginner. At full retail, I think I would save a bit more and spring for the R50. But if you're looking to upgrade to a mirrorless on a budget this deal is hard to beat!
