Rated 5 out of 5 by from 90D shutting down during photo shoot Issue having is during a shoot it just shut down completely, was not able to trigger a shot. I changed lenses from the Tamron 18-400 to the Sigma 150-200 and still no ability to take a shot. After turning off and on a few times ability to take photos returned. Don't know why...may have to bring a 2nd body along for insurance. Could someone from Canon contact me about this?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic powerhouse of a camera-excellent for someone with experience Fantastic Camera for someone with some experience. I had been shooting with a rebel t3 since it was new. This new camera has been amazing for sports photography which I do as a volunteer. However, this is NOT a beginner camera. It took me a few sessions to get a handle on it shooting in high speeds. I love the wifi capacity, though uploading photos, particularly in raw takes a VERY long time. Absolutely love that I can access my photos on my phone- lets me easily post them online. This camera is a powerhouse and I am in love!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect camera for learners! I purchased this camera to upgrade from the canon rebel sl1 that I have been using for roughly six years. I honestly have to say this is the best purchase I have made. It takes beautiful photos, specially Portraits. I like that I have more options to pick from compared to the sl1 (The SL1 was just a starting camera for me specially since I was just starting high school). I am still learning to take photos with this camera but they have been turning out amazing since I got it last week, I suppose I learn quickly lol (I have YouTube to thank for helping me with the features it has XD). I highly recommend this for anyone who's looking into starting photography though, it's something to start and learn with so one day you can work your way up to getting the very expensive cameras!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from attractive features I preordered this camera the day preorder was online.. as expected I really liked the features 90d provided. Notable one were - quality of the pictures - high speed continous shot - wifi transfer - though felt hard initially, was able to get hold of configuration after some tries. - bluetooth transfer is also good. -touch screen is really good. Cons I have seen: - when I used my tamron 70 200 2.8 lens and goto live mode, live mode resets when zoom the lens.. it reboots the camera by initiating screen cleaning. - getting battery not installed or failed message and prompts me to remove the battery and fix it back to use the camera again..

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Canon to Fuji BACK to Canon for GOOD I recommend purchasing directly from the Canon Store USA, I actually ended up purchasing 3 different sets. 1st 90 with 18-135, 2nd 90d with 18-55 and 55-250, I returned Both of those after I tried each one out, had no problem within 10 day returning, they even give you a prepaid return label. I finally bought and kept the 90D body only. I came back to Canon DSLR from Fujifilm X-T2. I purchased a Canon 24-70 L USM ii used lens. I figured with the sensor size of the Canon 90D a full frame should be the way to go, just my preference.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice I just bought this camera and received it today. I like the weight and feel of it in my hands. The button layout will take a little getting used to for me as I was shooting with a Rebel T7i, but it is not bad either. I bought this for two main reasons: 1. FPS shooting and 2. 32.5 MP sensor. All I shoot is still photos so the video capabilities were not a factor in my purchase. I am fairly impressed with the frame rate however. And it is fairly quiet also. SHOOTING IN "Silent" mode is not as loud as High Speed, but it isn't completely silent either. Either way is a big improvement though. Kudos to the team that designed this one! These photos were taken with the 90D and the Sigma 100 - 40 mm DG OS HSM Contemporary lens. The 90D has no trouble with AF using this lens.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Bigger Step-Up From The 80D Than Expected I have been using an 80D for the past couple of years. I love that camera! Just since February, I've really been putting in time on nature/wildlife photography. I was just about to buy the 7D when I heard the rumors it was going to be discontinued. I then discovered that the new 90D would basically feature the best of the 80D and 7D combined. I honestly didn't expect it to be such a step-up from the 80D, but it really is. The shutter is faster, and to me, there is a real difference in the photo clarity. For my purposes, it was worth the upgrade.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Maybe the most perfect camera every I purchased this camera wanting to fix all the flaws the 80D came with. Everything I didn't like about the 80D was fixed on the 90D. Foremost was the clunky feature of transferring pics to my phone. Before it would take me 15 minutes to set up the 80D. Now just a push of some buttons and open the app on the I phone and pics are one the way. So easy even a caveman like me can use it. There are many feautures on the 90D that I need to learn. I hope when I am shooting, I can remember to use them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from How Much I Love The 90D Really like this camera so far. Considered waiting for the EOSR-5 but I really like the crop sensor cameras. This is my third one. I shoot mainly birds & wildlife in the summer from our pontoon boat and mainly macro & still life in the winter in Ohio. This camera works wonderfully for me. I love the fast shutter speed and being able to shoot at higher ISO. Plus the rotating screen is a must for me. At 72 with RA getting down & back up is very difficult so this screen and a Platypod work great , even sitting it on the ground or over my head I can still see what I am getting. For now I will stick with DSLR'S.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Feature Focus Bracketing One of the features I was looking for was the Focus Bracketing. However, it only works with 6 lenses of older technology. This is a MAJOR disappointment as I was looking to use that feature. The lenses are rare and not common to users if you want to use that feature it is useless. Waste of memory and capability if not usable on all lenses. Otherwise faster ocus and speed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great camera, excellent image quality I have owned this camera since its launch date 1 year ago, and takes excellent photos once you master the camera settings a little bit. There are many youtube videos that explain how to set your camera up based on what your shooting, and recommend spending time watching video's if you are struggling with this camera. I am an amateur photographer, but using this camera and learning how to tweak the camera settings has made me a better photographer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I feel great about this purchase. After months of researching the best camera for my needs, the EOS 90D kept coming to the top and so I made the leap and purchased it. I was concerned since I am using it for steaming my classes and for creating videos but the instructions are easy to follow and there is so much help available on YouTube that I was up and streaming my Zoom meetings as fast as the battery was charged. I am even excited about taking pictures now.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Canon, "don't" stop making DSLRs! I reentered the digital camera world 18 months ago with a Rebel TR7 "kiddie camera" and when I learned the merits of going from point and shoot to dslr decided to up my game. After looking at Nikon D780 and Canon's 90D I decided on the 90D. Not at all sorry for doing so. This camera is fantastic (after you learn it's details) and the results keep getting better. A good bird in flight photo is easy enough, but a fantastic bird in flight photo is a challenge yet, readily accomplished with the 90D. Only request I have is that Canon explain better in the owner's manual the effects of different lens classifications when using the OVF or LCD screen. Each has its own merits and outcomes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Canon please add 24p I love the camera and the price point, but I truly hope that Canon hears enough input from owners about the lack of 24p. Granted, my 5D Mark II, 60D, and SL2 all have 24p for 1080, but the 90D could be the absolute best bang for the buck if Canon pushes out a firmware update to add 24p at 4k and 1080.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better pics and vids from 80d I’m surprised there are still negative reviews on this site stating a lack of 24f. This was corrected long ago and is old news. I’m a Canon “enthusiast.” Not a pro, but I have this camera and a Canon long lens in my hand most every day. I take better pics and vids with this camera than the 80d. It’s that simple. But, there was an adhesive failure on the grip under the shutter button. Sent it back to Canon under Warrantee and was none too happy about having to pay $38 shipping to them for Warrantee work for a matter that was clearly poor workmanship on their part. Nevertheless I love the camera and am completely happy with it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It was one step away from being great. This camera does everything well for it's price. Amazing photos. Fast shutter speed. 4k video. 120fps at 1080p. Everything is great. But it doesn't shoot 24fps. What a failure. One simple feature stops this camera from being great. What a disappointment. I wish I could use this camera. I don't have the money to purchase one of Canon's high end DSLR's. I wish I could upgrade but it's just not possible for me. The 90D could have done that for me, but no 24fps. This camera is unusable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best prosumer “mirrored” camera out there! I bought mine on release day. The Bluetooth functionality ads so much to this line. I can bring an iPad with Lightroom and can edit on the Go easily! Crisp be gorgeous pictures too. It’s heavy, but that’s too be expected from this type. If you don’t want to replace your lenses by going mirror less, this is the way to go.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not Ready for Prime Time This camera pales in comparison to my EOS 7D Mark II. While fps spec is the same, I'm not sure where they get those figures using autofocus. While using it to capture photos of flying birds, it would click in fits and starts while it would focus, ending up missing the money shots way too many times. The contrast on this camera is horrible. I had pix of birds that were way too bright in whites and way too dark in darker colors. And while it quotes a maximum burst of 39 pix in CRaw mode, the highest I could ever get with autofocus was 24 shots. With manual focus, I was able to shoot at 10 fps and actually reached a full burst of 41 shots. However, I don't know many flying birds that are willing to stop mid-flight to allow me to shoot that way.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 90D is a sweetheart of a camera with one caviate. Went from a T7i to the 90D - what a great progression that was. That 90D is still one of my favorite cameras. My only issue was shooting low-light with the camera. The ISO game isn't as good (or I'm not good enough) to come away with banner pictures in that kind of environment. i'd be giving it a 5 but for that.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good for General Photography / Portrait use After extensive research I decided to purchase the EOS 90D as a compromise for general photography and astrophotography. The camera works well but has been put in use for general photography only. When taking multiple long exposure photos ( 10 - 180s the buffer is slow to download exposures to the computer, resulting in the software believing the camera has stopped and disconnects. For short exposure, multiple 60s or less the camera would perform well ( See Photos below)The buffer on the EOS 90D is to small for long exposure use and I have reverted back to the T6i which has no problems handling multiple long exposures.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Many good features for the price I really like this camera but only gave it 4 stars, as I will rarely be using the video feature. That something that you have to pay for now, even if you bought this model to shoot photos. I have been buying Canon cameras since the 80's. I had to buy on line as there are no Canon camera stores near me. I really miss the hands on experience and seeing the camera in person before buying. The features I like are the touch screen and ease of use. Also the higher ISO and interchangeable lens. I was really torn between this model a the lower end full frame camera. My next camera will be a full frame as I really enjoy landscape photography. My sister in law liked one of my photos so much she now wants me to paint it, I guess that will be her Christmas present.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Features Love Canon, this is my second digital camera. My other ones have been film, not ready to go mirrorless. The touchscreen is wonderful, and easy to use, it is great for adjusting your settings went out shooting. I try to use the manual mode as much as possible, unless I’m trying to grab an action shot or a picture of one of my pets. So far I’ve been shooting raw so I can make any adjustments in post editing. The reason I only gave it four stars instead of five is because I could care less about using the video. I can do that with my iPhone if I want to,but now it’s standard with the newer models. My sister-in-law liked one of my photos so much, now she wants me to paint it. I guess it’ll be a Christmas present for her and my brother.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Poor quality, defective with errors, stops working My hubby bought this camera for my birthday back on December of 2020. In May of 2021 it stopped working due to err 70. After two trips to Canon repair service it was repaired for free but I had to pay for two hefty shipping costs. Fast forward to September 4th 2023 and the camera stopped working now due to err 30. According to the internet this is bad news for me as it seems to be an issue with the shutter. I called Canon and was told sorry please send it for repair which would cost mid 300+shipping. I've owned both Canon and Nikon cameras for several years and never had any issues with either so assume this unit was simply defective. I am torn and disappointed. I love the camera and as I seat here typing this review am considering my options send the body to repair or just buy a new one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better Than I Expected I was not ready for such a vast improvement over my ancient Canon 60D bodies and SL1. I cannot see any area that has not been improved with the numerous upgrades over the years. I can see there is going to be a steep learning curve to understand and fully appreciate the performance of this new body. What I like most is that Canon kept the basic controls and menu function pretty similar so it is user friendly for someone coming from an older body. I was able to overview the instructions and very quickly start using it.I also greatly appreciate that they continue to use the same lithium-ion battery and charger as my previous cameras. Likewise all my EF and EFS lenses.I did purchase a new Canon EFS 24mm 2.8 STM lens when I bought this body and it is fantastic too. The focus speed and metering are superb compared to my previous cameras going all the way back to an EOS 620 film body.I am one happy camper after this purchase.Thank you Canon for another job well done.I have been a loyal customer since 1978 when I purchased my first 35mm cameras (Canon AT-1 and F1n).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great resolution… great quality camera. Features are very lacking. I use an R7 on a daily basis. I purchased this camera as a backup. I tried using it several days as my primary camera, but soon realized that the advanced features the R7 has over this camera keep me using the 90D strictly as an emergency backup. The image quality control is identical however due to the viewfinder, leveling up this camera is much more difficult and takes far longer. I do flambient photography and shoot brackets of 5 followed by fill flash frames in a manual setting. If I need to delete a bracket, this camera makes me delete each photo one at a time. The overall experience is a slow one and I work at a fast pace, so it his camera is just not a good fit for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great quality camera for an amateur First camera I’ve ever owned and I love how easy it is for someone like me to get excellent results. I use it for photo and video and love it. So far I’ve only used a 50mm EF lens and a 18-55mm EF-S lens and both have served me well. The only real downside is the small screen and the 30 minute video limit, but other than that I have no complaints. Much better than using just my iPhone camera!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The perfect camera for an experienced hobbyist I finally decided to upgrade from my 10 year old T3i and I couldnt be happier with it. There was an immediate increase in quality before I even took a photo, just from holding it - the materials are higher quality and the grip feels much more ergonomic in your hand. And of course the photo quality is phenomenal. I’ve never had an issue with this camera the entire time I’ve had it - although I was disappointed when I tried out the wifi transfer feature, the files are so big that it takes ages to send to your computer over Wi-Fi, it’s much easier just to use the SD card. But overall in my opinion, it’s the perfect upgrade camera for a hobby photographer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Move up! Bought a EOS t6i to learn the basics and after 4 years was redy to move up, but not to the added expense of a mirrorless and all new lenses. I decided on a 90D so I could still use my lenses. I got on the Canon store website and you had the 90D in stock and I received it two days later. Really like it and appreciate the quick response as always.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Metering I think that it meters better than my newly acquired 5D Mark 4.
