Know your gear
The EF-M 15 - 45 mm f/3.5 - 6.3 IS STM is a compact, stylish zoom lens for EOS M series digital cameras. A special retraction mechanism shortens the length of the lens to just 1.76 inches (44.5 mm) when the camera is off, to help make carrying and storing the lens and camera even easier. The quiet stepping motor (STM) design helps ensure low-noise focusing that's ideal for recording movies. The 35 mm-equivalent 24 - 72 mm range combines a wide angle for landscapes and big group photos, with a telephoto zoom for close-ups and detailed headshots. Carefully designed lens placement and special Canon coatings help keep ghosting and other lens flare from your images. The integral image stabilization (up to 3.5 stops faster) can help capture sharp images, even in low light and while taking panoramas.

The perfect "walk-around" lens for my EOS-M3!
Hard to believe image quality! The 15-45mm focal length (24-72mm to us old film geezers) covers about 90+ percent of my walk-around candids. Razor-sharp and excellent contrast. LOVE IT!

Corner sharpness very poor up to F11
Using this lens on the M6, the corner sharpness is terrible. I sent it in for repair and that made no difference. You need to stop down to f11 to sharpen the corners. This is an embarassement of a lens for Canon. Other three EF-M lenses that I own are all much much better. I bought it as a bundle with the camera body; I would recommend buying body only and avoiding this lens. If I could return this lens for refund I would. The M6 on the other hand is quite good.

Practical Focal Length
This lens delivers excellent sharpness and focusing performance through out the zoom range. It's compact and when paired with an M10 makes an excellent pocket sized camera combination. Perfect for the times when you want to take landscapes and portraits.

great stock lens
I recently bought an Eos M50 body, thinking I could just use an adapter to still utilize my older lens. They worked but reading my manual I saw that I should have just bought the stock lens that came with the M50. I was lucky that Canon had this refurbished one for half that price and it works great! I use the camera for YouTube and the multi-point auto-tracking is great!

The Five-ounce wonder
Bought this as the kit with a new M-50 camera (which also rates 5 stars in my book. It is light, small, and sharp enough for its role as a general purpose lens. The IS is a plus. It's great for family events. Caution: Be careful or get the hood for this lens, as the front element is way up front.

Surprisingly good kit lens
I bought the M50 with this lens and the 55-200. I have been continuously surprised by the clarity and fast auto focus of this lens. Although I have several ef-s and ef lenses as well as a third ef-m now, I find this and the 55-200 used most often. This is a very good walk around lens and the super lightweight of the camera/lens combo have been so nice on my painful back. While I have sold kit lenses in the past because of their mediocre performance, this one will be a keeper for years to come.
