Rated 5 out of 5 byCElvis from Blu Ray Recorder from DELLGood so far. Burns "all" discs, DL, DR+ well. 2nd time I have purchased one of these and will probably do so again, as the need requires.

Rated 5 out of 5 byMr. Ospin from Great buy for the money. This is an excellent performing optical drive, especially in light of it only being a USB connection. It has a small footprint, and operates relatively quietly.

Rated 5 out of 5 byM. Rosa from Great Drive, good quality and good price! The Buffalo Blu Ray drive is a nice addition to my computer setup. Operates smoothly and efficiently and even though its external it has been placed properly with my laptop and monitor where it is not cumbersome to use or looks messy. Great purchase at a good price!

Rated 5 out of 5 byz1machine from Buffalo MediaStation 16X External Blue Ray WriterI bought this external DVD, Blue Ray reader when I bought my new laptop from HP. It was easy to setup and use on my new laptop and on another older laptop that I own. The cyber link software works great and I have successfully used it to play regular DVD videos, music DVDs as well as Blue Ray DVDs with no problems. I have not yet use it to burn in any CDs so I can not comment on how well it does that task.

Rated 5 out of 5 byGodssoldier62 from Simple To Set Up And Use(Pros)The station is simple to set-up and use and produces a beautiful picture. (Cons) It makes noise while loading and after leaving the pause mode to play, the sound and picture never come back in sync. Always have to press pause, wait about 10 seconds and then press play to synchronize the two. This can be a pain but other than that, nice machine.

Rated 5 out of 5 byveritasffg from Very Quiet - Burns Just about anythingBought this burner with a new HP PC - I do quite a bit of video editing, and usually burn videos to Blue-Ray. Have not had a moment of trouble with this unit, which contains a Pioneer burner. Everything seems to work perfectly.

Rated 5 out of 5 byAbe from New disc player/burnerSo happy to see this has a robust build. The disc player that came with the new computer tower had an underwhelming build. This unit looks like it will last a long time.

Rated 5 out of 5 byAardnork (XBOX) from Excellent Disc Player Does Nearly EverythingI wanted this player due to the huge backup capacity on one disc. Some of the new Bluray discs can hold 100 GB or more (although I could not find any above 100 GB. It is very easy to create a backup using the provided Cyberlink software for backup, playing discs, or any function this machine can do. There are only two things I found that it can't do (apparently). One is, it won't play a 4K Bluray disc, only standard Bluray. The second is that it (apparently) won't write to the new "M" discs, although I didn't try it. Those discs are the ones suitable for archiving because they are said to last many years without the risk of deterioration. They are heavy duty discs which apparently need a more powerful laser to record data on them. I did use my Buffalo drive to save data to a 100 GB disk and it worked fine. I also used it to play standard Bluray discs, and that worked well also. The only other thing that is a bit annoying is that the software is from Cyberlink and they like hardware companies to ship their product down-rev. That way, they can keep prompting you to upgrade the software for a price. Luckily, I just bought a new PC and the Bluray player Cyberlink software provided was nearly the latest available, but even that can be upgraded for more $$$$. In other words, the software, not the hardware, leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Other than that, I like it!!!!!
