Rated 5 out of 5 by from Useful and easy to use label maker This Brother Everyday label maker was so easy to set up and use to label my emergency kit. I love how big and bold the font is. The machine and label tape is very affordable. It stuck onto the plastic very well and did not budge to come off. I did install 3 AA batteries to make it work. The machine is durable and useful.

I was able to type out anything I wanted with so many options to pick from with font orders, even emojis. Was able to put these sticker labels on anything that I had. They’re also very durable as I’ve had these on some of the things that get tossed around the house a lot and they’ve stuck on the only confusing part was getting the Bluetooth figured out. But it only took me about 30 minutes to troubleshoot and then I got it working.

I like how quiet it is, and the different font and images choices. So far it has been great to label my kids supplies for school. I am also a fan of using the app to print over wifi.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pretty good labeler with a few negatives. This Brother label maker is a pretty good unit overall with a few negatives. I purchased an AC adapter because the labeler uses 6 AAA batteries which don't last long when you are printing several labels. The batteries are fine if you only use the unit occasionally. Brother really should have incorporated a lithium rechargeable battery for this unit. The other negative on this labeler is the poor LCD display. I have the LCD setting turned up as dark as possible but the LCD display is still very weak. At my work they had the same Brother labeler and it too had a very dim/weak display. I am not sure why the display can't be darker and more legible. The positives are that this labeler makes very nice, professional looking labels. The labels stick to almost every clean surface and look great. The PT-D220 labeler is easy to use and the buttons are intuitive after using it for a while. I have used the shrinkable tubing cartridges as well and it works great making labels for wire harnesses. Overall I am pleased with the unit other than the poor display, hence the 4 star review.

Would have loved to use this label maker upon arrival, but I figured it would come with its plug so no need to get the batteries as they are "suggested" not "required. Please either send us the adapter (what product doesn't come with one??) or say "batteries required". At least give a us hint that it won't be usable upon arrival or tell us "You will either need AAA batteries or to purchase an AC Adapter to be able to use this unit upon arrival." I see I am not the only one with this issue.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The DISPLAY is AWFUL. Can't Read it. NO adjustment The DISPLAY is so light, it is USELESS. There is NO Adjustment. I have an older BROTHER P Touch. It is much better and has NO Backlight. I am Returning this PT-D220 as it is UN-Usable. The Tape adjustment does NOT work. You WASTE LOTS of Tape at the Beginning and end of the Labels. The Directions are very difficult to follow and are printed on a very LARGE folding piece of paper. I do NOT recommend this Labeler. My old Brother Labeler is much better. The only reason I bought this one was for the EZ separating Tape. That part is Great. The Specifications say it has (5) Font SIZES, It ONLY has (3) Brother Tech Support is USELESS and OVERSEAS.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great little printer Love the device but the instructions leave a lot to be desired. Instructions fold out to a great big sheet with very tiny type. Makes it very difficult to find the instruction you need. Love all that the printer can do once you can figure out how to do each thing. This is our third or fourth version of the printer. ONLY complaint is the instructions get worse each version instead of better.

I contacted Brother and they gave me tasks to reset it and when they didn’t work they replaced it for me. My new one works great and I love it.

I feel that if I purchase a product I should expect that the company has done its due diligence that the product is well made, uses the software that does the job, is user friendly (meaning that the software is intuitive), and produces a product that does what it says it will do. Brother does not disappoint. I am thrilled with this product. I wasn't expecting the quality and user friendliness. Thank you, Brother!

Wish I'd known before I bought Very disappointed to pull it out of the box and find there's no power cord included, but there's an place to attach one to the machine. There is reference to a cord in the included instructions, but no cord exists. The instructions also say no batteries included, but NO WHERE does it say NO CORD INCLUDED, and you have to pay extra to actually use the machine. Seriously? Who sells a product without a cord?? Now I have to go out and buy batteries, which creates waste. That is a lousy rip-off. Include a cord and charge what that costs to include. Or make it clear on the package that we have to buy the cord at the same time (hopefully the retailer sells them) so we have a working product to use at a client.

Second one which I now have will let you enter printer markings but when you go to print out label it just makes grinding noise, wont advance tape, nor will it print anything on the tape itself. Took it to Staples where i purchased it bougt two more cartridges and does same thing. Staples was very unhelpful and just passed it on to the manufacturer. I wont be purchasing qny Brother products in the future, this lqbel maker on worked for one cartridge then started gringing and not working. And yes they are correct tapes for the machine

Notified company and there response was to send me page to buy new one don’t recommend this product or their customer support it’s a throw away then they want you to buy new one ??
