Brother MFC-J6555DW - multifunction printer - color is rated 3.00 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice Quality Nice quality printer! I was worried that at its cheaper price point than other 11x17 printers that the quality wouldn't be great but it actually printed a photo better than my other printer that I use for smaller prints. And the ink isn't too hard to get either!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 0 Stars, Terrible 0 Stars. PLEASE DO NOT BUY THE "MFC-J6555DW" PRINTER. I wish that I had never purchased this product. By the time it failed it was <4 months old and we used the copy function exactly 34 times. We used the scanner function about the same. The scan function is the main reason why I made the purchase in the first place. We love our existing brother printer, so when we needed a second printer, we chose this model (1 less paper tray than our existing printer/scanner), boy what a freaking mistake. Wish I had read reviews on this model and not went off our past experience with this brand. Here goes the saga: Part 1 - we purchased the mfc-j6555dw new from our local office depot. hoping it would be as great as our current, 5 yr old brother printer/scanner. boy were we wrong. after less than 4 months, it stopped scanning and threw a "cant scan - A5" error code. at this point, it would beep incessantly at you and only copy, no scanning. called customer service - only thing they can do is replace this almost brand new unit with a refurbished unit. not super excited about that, but they ship the replacement. Part 2 - 1st replacement arrives, we go thru the set up (literally plugging it in and putting the ink it) and as soon as the test print page comes thru - it sends the dreaded "cant scan - A5" error code which flips over to a "cant scan - A F" code. fortunately, enough for me, I've been to this rodeo. Call customer service, they cannot solve the issue with out the machine - so they send another, refurbished replacement, for my <4 month old printer/scanner. at this point we have 2 useless printers stacked in the office. Part 3 - 2nd replacement printer arrives, we go thru the set up (literally plugging it in and putting the ink it) and as soon as the test print page comes thru - it sends the dreaded "cant scan - A5" error code. From past experience, I know to unplug the machine, wait a minute and plug back in to let it restart. So I do just that. Now the machine literally will not turn on. Completely crazy. It initially threw the same error code and now simply wont power up. Right now we are 0 for 3. Fortunately enough for me, I've been to this rodeo twice before. Call customer service - they cannot believe or understand that the machine literally wont power up. So I lug the machine to 3 other wall outlets, unplug lamps (that are on), plug the printer in and it still has no power. So she says that they will send another, refurbished replacement, for my <4 month old printer/scanner. yay. at this point we have 3 useless printers (and 2 boxes) stacked in the office. So we have 3 faulty printers and have no idea what to do with them. We also have over 8 hours of time spent trying to figure out why all of these brother mfc-j6555dw units just wont work. What are the odds that I got the only 3 faulty units? Insane. So at this point, we purchased this printer/scanner once, Brother has sent 2 and is sending a third replacement printer/scanner. I don't understand why brother would not replace this printer with a similar Brother printer that has a better operational track history (I asked for a similar unit to get swapped out for this unit, so I can get off this crazy train of poor quality product and was told no)? Seems like a crazy business decision. I'll provide an update (Part 4) when we receive the 3rd replacement printer - to update you all to see if it actually works. 10:1 its a dud. Part 4 - the 3rd replacement showed up. Set everything up and after 24 hours, it hasnt thrown an error code or stopped scanning yet. I still would never buy a brother mfc-j6555dw again. You will thank me later. I do not recommend this product.
