I get jams/1 sided prints or just blank pages. tried downloading new print drivers, uninstalling and reinstalling, using a USB cable... nothing seems to work.... 2 months of this frustration....

I needed a scanner in this price range for an emergency and had to settle for this one. Some downsides No double-sided ADF scanning While it touts to be able to scan 11x17 getting it to do so (finding the right settings is nearly impossible There are 3 scanning programs to scan from your computer. None of them are perfect, each one has features/uses the others do not so depending on my requirement I use all 3

My favorite option on this new printer is the shortcut feature. I use the same enlargement setting every week and having the ability to make a single selection rather than multiple selections if great!

I bought this printer because you can use 11x17 paper in it and I need that size for work. It prints very fast and clear. I've used the copy machine and scanning features too. The ink lasts a very long time too! I've printed so many things and the ink cartridges are still full!

Runs real quiet and fast. I'm going to buy some ink and see how it does but it is really an awesome set up for what I paid for.

The only glitch was it didn’t auto connect and get the WIFI IP address, I had to manually input that. This printer is easy set-up and the performance is perfect for an in-home office.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It is a good low cost solution for 11 X 17 We use it for printing and scanning in color. It works well. Sometimes it grabs two sheets of paper, but that is also dependent on the condition of the paper. Downside is that it only does one sided scanning, whereas it will double side an 11 x 17 print. We have one at home and one at the office.

Make every job a real time consuming pain -says it has not paper when its full, won't print, prints the wrong size, selects the wrong tray, does not print actual size even when advanced settings are at 100% - I quit, I'm avoiding using it now- really Brother, are you serious putting this out for $300?

I cannot imagine why Brother would manufacture an automatic sheet feed scanner that does not duplex scan. I wasted many hours of my time trying to get it to duplex scan. I reviewed Brother's manual that came with the unit and it showed how to get it to duplex scan. Unfortunately, those instructions were for a different, more expensive "all-in-one" machine. The way I found out that this unit did not duplex scan was after calling tech support, whereupon the support person informed me that the duplex scan feature was only available on another model.

Extra input tray on back very handy for odd sizes or envelopes. Only complaint might be the large footprint but typical for 11x17 capability. Definitely worth price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Printer and support gets a WOW When I first installed my new printer, everything worked great except the manual feed tray. I ran the track clear procedure with no luck. I called support who told me to do the same thing. Again, no luck. For the next several weeks I went back and forth with tech support. I finally did one last visual inspection of the MF tray path and low and behold I found a part in the track which was blocking the paper path. I removed the small part (about 0.5 X 0.25 in and sent a picture to tech support with a note that I would install it if they would send instructions. I was told that this was not a user install part and i thought "Here we go again". About 3 days later a brand new printer showed up. I am afraid i have to eat some crow. Brother went above and beyond. I really like this printer. It will duplex print and process Ledger paper. I have two issues 1) it is NOT a photo printer. Report graphics are fine, but photographs are news print quality. 2) it will not duplex scan. If you are looking for a good workhorse business MF device, this is a good choice.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great machine! This printer replaces two others that I’ve had for a number of years: a wide format inkjet and an all-in-one multi-pass inkjet. I so appreciate its ability to do what I needed two machines to do before, along with the speed at which it does so. And being able to both scan and print larger sizes (up to 11x17 is really handy. Connectivity is great, too, in terms of being able to print from my iPhone and iPad. All in all this is a great unit that does everything I need it to do.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It has a LEDGER sized platen... I chose this model mainly because I like to copy articles from magazines w/o ripping out the page. The copy quality seems to be good. I also like the 'reminder tone' when you leave something on the platen glass. I do wish the scanning software had more options to manipulate the scanned image, though.

Best quality print isn't always necessary. The ink cartridges do seem to last longer than in other brand printers I have had - so time will tell if it saves as much in cost to use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this printer so far! Got rid of our Epson due to a lousey document feeder. So far have not had a single auto-feed issue (3 mos. or so. Also, if I did my math right, the ink is less expensive than the cartridges we used to buy. Also, the cartridges hold alot of ink, these first cartridges may well last us a year (used to buy cartridges every other or every 3 mos).

It was easy to setup and connect to my WIFI. Love the added feature of double sided printing without flipping paper. Looking forward to many years of use from this printer too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exactly what I wanted and needed I do engineering and 11" X 17" is a normal size for review and marking. Did not do wireless, just plug in your PC or laptop and pull up Brother Utilities on screen and do what you want. Being 11" X 17" printer it is not small. But with CV-19 I do not have to go into office to scan, print, or copy! In a week it paid for itself! I had the small 8-1/2" X 11" black and white laser and loved it but this is a major leap in production and quality. Hey! $280 is pretty inexpensive when you see all of the features.

I do wish the color was more saturated, bright, and sharper, but this is not a photo printer. I would like to see a much more detailed manual for loading paper and selecting modes. It could use a larger capacity paper tray.

Money well spent.  Features are very functional, convenient, and durable. The Brother printer offers the best value in printing. I would recommend a Brother printer every time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very happy with this printer Excellent printer; very good quality, fast printing. Having a year's worth of ink included is great. I researched heavily and found this to be among the lowest overall operating cost on a per-page basis. It's not cheap to buy (this is a BIG printer that can print/copy/scan up to 11x17 and it's built well. The per-page costs are low, with no loss in quality. I don't do a lot of photo printing at my home office so I wasn't focused on that. We print office/school documents, and I scan a lot of documents. This is my first wireless printer. The initial setup was a little confusing, but once set up, everyone in the house loves it. We can print wirelessly from five laptops throughout the house. (You can also print via a wired connection if you need too.) I've set up shortcuts for everyone so they can drop a document in the feeder, scan it, and the scan shows up in their email a few minutes later. You can also set it up to send it direct to a designated folder on your computer (I have not done that yet.) Overall, very hightly recommended.

I probably have $200 of ink for it also and though I could find another machine that uses the same ink. This printer looks and acts similar but looks like it uses different inks. This ad does not give me the info needed by this buyer.

Apperas to be economical on power usage. The prices was reasonable. Delivery was quick. In short, it is te best printer I have ever owned.

I have been looking for a printer that doesn't use printer cartridges. This makes since as the price of printer cartridges are more expensive than the tank ink and it last longer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Brother Investment Tank all-in-one printer I received this product for free from Brother in exchange for my honest opinion/review of the product. This printer is on the heavier side but I was able to lift it on my own. To be safe I`d suggest 2 people move it. It was very easy to set the printer up as well as link it to my computer. The instructions are understandable and clear. I use my printer for my small home businesses as well as for personal and church things. I do really like this printer a lot more than the printer I currently have as it prints more quickly. I really like that I can print double sided papers all in one action instead of having to print one side and then put that paper back into the printer to print the other side. When scanning, you just scan one side, flip and scan the other, then it prints on both sides which is awesome. I also love the fact that I can print things directly from my phone and that it has a flash drive port directly on the printer. Scanning is very smooth and easy. I do really like that I have the ability to print various sizes of documents and not just the standard 8.5``x11`` paper. This printer has proven to be a high quality printer and made very well. I do really like the option they have of automatically sending more ink in the mail. The one thing I do wish though is that the ink life lasted longer. 2 years instead of 1. 1 year for 300 pages a month is a great time length to have considering my other printer I had to buy ink every few month, so money-wise this ink is a good price. But with my smaller businesses and personal stuff, some months I print lots of pages and some months I don`t and it would be nice to have a little longer ink shelf life instead of needing to throw the ink away if I haven`t finished it yet when the year is up. Overall this is a great printer. It has so many nice features and has been a great edition to my office. I would recommend getting this printer and have told my family about all its great features.

When I first received this product,my 1st thought was "wow... It`s huge! " Upon unboxing and seeing all the amazing functions I realized why. It was easy enough to set up with very little trouble. It prints in fully saturated and vibrant colors. My 11 year old autistic son also used the product with ease and few directions. It holds a great amount of paper for any family or home office. It is beautifully designed as well. Pros: Easy Funcuality, prints in vibrant colors, lost lasting ink, bright LCD screen that tilts to easy view, simple setup and to use. Cons: very large takes 2 people to set it up

I bought this Brother printer due to the great reviews. I’m very happy with this Brother printer. Works wonderfully well and the print quality is beautiful.

Auto document feeder may be able to scan 11x35 document (have not tried yet. Would have liked double sided scan, but don't need enough to justify the upgrade (6945DW I think)

I dont want to take undue advantage but as the cost of the printer is essentially ink, it is a huge factor in the buying decision. I did call Support and did not get a clear or satisfactory answer

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Printer! This printer was purchased to replace and older Brother that served me well for almost 10 years. I've only had it a little over a month but so far I love it. The full 11x17 print/scan/copy capability is awesome - my previous unit would print 11x17, but copy/scan size was limited to legal size. The ability to replace individual ink colors rather than a combination cartridge is a huge plus and more cost effective! I have owned several Brother all in ones (both laser & inkjet, both for business and personal use, and have been very satisfied with them. Highly recommended!

This printer comes fully assembled in the box with all the necessary instructions and software to easily set it up. The printer was quite a bit larger and heavier than I expected it to be. It appears to be very sturdy and nice quality. It took me about 30 minutes to set the printer up so that it was fully functional. The instructions for set up were very simple and easy to follow with both pictures and text. The hardest part I encountered was wirelessly connecting it to my internet. The mistake I made was inputting the "key" or password that is printed on the back of my router (according to the set up instructions provided rather than the new internet password that we created for our home. I set up the printer with free MAC software downloaded directly from the Brother website.The ink was easy to install and printed clearly in B&W and color without any streaking or smudging. I appreciate the long lasting ink feature. I haven`t experienced any problems with paper jams or paper feeding errors through its multiple paper feed paths. Double-sided printing is a nice feature and is preformed quickly. The scanning function is convenient and straight forward to use and has a very large 11x17 scanning area. Making copies is also easy, fast and produces clear text and images. The one issue I have had is the printer disconnecting or going offline from my internet network if it hasn`t been used in a while. This has been easily fixed by canceling the print job and trying a second time. Overall Im very impressed with the functions of this all-in-one printer and happy with how user friendly it is. Would highly recommend!

Not only can I scan my images and documents that are larger than 8.5 x 11, but I can reproduce copies on larger paper formats as well as produce high quality prints of my photography for clients on the spot. I absolutely love the wireless printing feature! My home office is small and I needed to house this printer in another room. I can control printing remotely from my desktop computer or my cell phone in an instant. I can also print while away from home through my dropbox, the cloud, or email, in the event someone needs documents in a pinch. Because of the wireless capabilities, I can send photos directly from my WiFi enabled camera to the printer. This allows me to provide clients with images during our photo shoot session, rather than waiting for proofs. The color resolution is top notch; meeting the demands of any photographer or the simple needs of an office. Set up went smoothly and I was printing from my smart phone within minutes of opening the box. In comparison to 2 other well know brands of Photo/All-in-one printers that use regularly, the Brother MFC-J6545DW InkJet ranks significantly higher. I would dare to say it is within the realm of excellence when it comes to convenience, ease of use, print quality, innovation, and reliability. I will be replacing my older all-in-ones with this Brother InkJet, for sure. The duel paper feed trays are an added bonus for high volume printing in various print sizes. I can keep both photo paper and copy paper in this machine at all times. Because of the duel trays and the amount of paper they can hold, there is rarely a need to change paper to accommodate a specific job. This is definitely a time saver and prevents me from accidentally printing on the incorrect media. The document feeder is ideal for scanning, copying or faxing several pages at a time and the printing from USB flash source is great when wanting to by pass the computer completely. The onscreen interface can handle it all without powering up your PC! In short, I was more than pleased with the ease of use, features, and performance of the Brother MFC-J6545DW InkJet. I highly recommend this device for both the high volume of a large office or the complicated needs of an artist in a home office.

Upon opening the package I was pleased to see such thorough yet simple opening instructions printed right on the interior flaps. The printer came %100 percent preassembled. Once plugged in the on-screen prompts were easy to follow and total set-up took me less than ten minutes. My office doesn`t use WiFi and the setup to connect mobile devices for printing was so remarkably easy I was able to explain the process in one text message to an employee who was able to successfully connect in minutes. The performance of this printer far exceeded my expectations in both ease of operation and quality printing. During the initial set-up I encountered one technical issues where the paper size wasn`t registering accurately but after powering the unit down and beginning the process again. Overall I`ve found this product to operate more efficiently and is far more user friendly.

So far though, for the basic simple straightforward printing and scanning that I've done, I really like it. No issues whatsoever. Set up was easy enough. No communication errors with devices. It's big and heavy, and meets my needs perfectly - it's great to have such a large scanning bed.! I also like the easy to access inks. We'll see if I'm still this happy with it after a few months of more complex use.

I read other reviews about how it cut off part of the picture when you scan. It does seem to cut pics off if you use the touch screen. I used an option on the touchscreen to resize and that worked for doing a couple of scans. I used the utility program from my PC and chose a larger size paper than the one I was scanning and that worked for getting the whole picture scanned. I just cropped them down. So far no real problems.

I gave it four stars only because of the spotty Linux support. It works very well and is recognized instantly on Windows 10 Pro,however. I dual boot Arch Linux and Windows 10 Pro; there is a work around described in the Arch Wiki for driver downloads support from the Brothers website--I just need to spur myself to take the trouble to go through the process ( which in my opinion should not have to be done. Other than that, I really like the printer and would recommend it to others seeking an inkjet printer for small office or home use.

My first impression it was very big but easy to set up. The set up time took about 15 minutes. I love the printer but I wished it printed well on all types of paper not just a certain type.I like how I can reorder ink off the printer and how it comes with a year supply of ink. I use the airdrop mode to print jobs. Most jobs print within a few seconds. Some times the printing job does not go through.Overall, I am satisfied with the product.

This printer was extremely easy to set up, and has been very easy to use. The installation was complete very quickly, and with relatively few steps. I didn`t have to trouble shoot, it worked from the very start. Since I am using the printer wirelessly, I was nervous about whether it would work right away, but I`ve had no problems. The installation prompts and directions were easy to follow.The speed of printing pages has been extremely quick, but I must admit that I haven`t had to print any extremely detailed pages yet.The only drawback to the printer is the size and weight of it. It is fairly heavy, but its size is what makes it the most cumbersome. It is bigger than I was hoping for, and needs a decent size table underneath it. I would recommend it for home-based businesses, but not necessarily for those people who are casual printers.

The instructions walk you through the process from end to end and even provide directions for all setup options depending on where the printing will be initiated from device to connection. I was able to immediately print from my phone after installing the application on my android device and connecting to the WiFi. Additionally, the auto or manual adjust feature on printing quality was very easy to use and improved the quality significantly after the first adjustment. My favorite part was the ink being such a large cartridge.Overall, it is a well functioning printer that is easy to setup and will do great for large print jobs with the amount of ink. If I could improve anything, it would be the size. For anyone with a small work space/office, I would imagine a printer with a smaller footprint would be much more beneficial.

The actual printer is a bit bulky for a small office but I looked past it because of its great quality and convenience of having all your needed functions in one machine. Print function: the print functions are great! Great quality. I can print every size I need for my business needs. It includes double sided printing as well without having to manually reload the paper. Software: the software is easy to install. A great option they have is wireless compatibility. I was able to download an app (android and Apple and function the computer from other area of my home. The app even tells you when your software needs to be updated which is a great feature. Scan function: the scanner on this printer has nice resolution. Scanning color images resulted in crystal clear scans. Again, I was able to scan directly to my phone so I could include images in emails and messages without having to bring out my laptop. Fax function: Easy to use and without any issues. Overall, I liked this printer. All functions worked as you would expect them to. Convenience of having the wireless app is great to have. Ran into no issues with use or set up. Quality of scans and prints were perfect.

Without going into boring reasons, I selected Brother. This is my second one. I have had other printers. Cost involving maintenance, ink, etc. is less .Brother overall is more reliant. This solves my problem from having to go to the FedEx/Kinkos down the street whenever I needed to make some copies. (which is often The printer is very compact and light when I needed to move it. The ease/size of the cartridges were also a plus and I love the touchscreen option on the display. The wifi option & print from the cellular device is a huge plus as well. I tried a few different options of color printing and they all came out exceptionally well. I really don`t have anything negative to say about it. I worked in a mailroom/purchasing department for many years and this is BY FAR the best printer i`ve come across. I don`t do too much faxing but if I ever need to I have a one stop shop. An outstanding piece of equipment. I thought printers may be extinct by now with the way technology moves so quickly but this is a piece of art.

We have had really good success with it for the past month that we've had it. Printing is great quality, fast and efficient. It holds a large volume of ink at one time. We have not had a single paper jam or error yet, which is a big relief. We use it primarily for scanning and printing, both color and B&W, as well as making photocopies. I recommend the Brother brand wholeheartedly, and this model is excellent.

OUT OF THE BOX: This is a workhorse of a printer. It holds a large amount of ink compared with other home office printers I`ve used in the past, prints extremely quickly including double sides pages, and has an intuitive, easy to use touch screen. Setting up the WIFI connection was easy and worked the first time (which isn`t always the case for me because of a few particulars about my WIFI situation). Inc cartridges are extremely easy to install. No need to break a cap off the ink container, they just click right into place. The printer was easy to set up out of the box without looking at the instructions. SPEED: This printer pumps out pages extremely quickly. The default setting is a lower-print quality for efficiency, which is great for most printing, besides presentations or photos. I like that because it uses ink conservatively by default, and just switches to higher ink usage when needed. Also by default, the printer is very quick. It does make some noice but it only lasts a second or two per page. You can choose a lower noise setting but it slows the speed a little so I preferred the default since the things I print usually have 20+ pages and the high speed is helpful.FUNCTIONALITY: This printer has all the features I`d expect to ever need in a home office, including: double sided printing; large-size flatbed scanner; multiple printer trays; paper feed tray for multiple-page scanning/copying; easy to use and large capacity internal paper tray; well-organzied, out of the way routed slots for wires connecting to different phones, computers, etc.COULD BE IMPROVED: A few surprises about this printer were that it had slightly wider margins of white areas bordering the page than some printers I`ve used, so I had to make sure to click "fit to page" in the print settings when I was printing powerpoints, otherwise the edges were cut off. I don`t know how this compares to other current comparable printers, but worth noting.Though the printer came with several cords, it didn`t seem to come with the standard USB-printer connection so I needed to use one I had in the house. The good news is that you probably already have one if you`ve ever before had a printer that you had to connect to the computer directly. OVERALL IMPRESSION: My overall impression is that this is a great quality printer: extremely versatile, efficient, capable, quick, and long-lasting. This has been a great addition to my home office!

The only issue is the tray controls are not in the programming and you have to manually select the tray, that is the reason for the 4 star and not a 5. I'm not sure where they get the "year" of ink or the criteria, while there is a lot there the printer also seems to use a lot of ink for printing.

The printer seems to work well when directly connected to the PC (via USB cable; however, when the Wi-Fi is engaged, the printer often shows up as being "offline" even though it is connected and shows as though on the printer itself. It is quick, double side option, color, and some of the features I haven't even used (or figured out yet. What I don't like is that sometimes it picks up more than one sheet of paper, so you have to go through the print outs to make sure there are no blank papers. I also don't like the output tray. The papers don't always come out in order. BUT overall this is a great printer and I am very happy with it. I use it daily.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from SUCKS! Always! defaults to the Multi Function paper tray on the back of the printer, which never has paper. No matter what you do on the settings! From mobile devices, it ALWAYS wants to use the MP tray and there is no way to select tray 1, so basically it’s not USABLE! Setup was way more confusing and difficult than an HP. It also looses its network connection and has to be restarted. Positives is it prints fast and has lots of ink. Just crazy hard to print to.

This machine met and exceeded all of those requirements. It was simple to set up and only took less than 20-30 minutes total.

I changed the setting to improve the color but there was no improvement. the help from brother was no help it was all the thing I already tried. the drivers are not the easiest to install overly complicated for drivers. they say inkjet printers are better at printing pictures with this printer that's not the case my old HP2025 Laser printer was ten times better.

We previously had a Brother printer for 10 years, but due to the ink absorber full error message, (which we were able to fix the error code one time) it was time to replace. This new printer has a much larger ink capacity.

That was not clear from the advertisement. In fact, the info page states specifically "Automatic two-sided (duplex) printing helps save paper and money." Well, it isn't automatic with any Microsoft or Adobe products. Quite misleading.

So far, the ink is almost full and by now on other printers I would be purchasing more ink. I have printer some photo and they came out great. The reason I purchases this printer was I needed a flat bed to scan legal size and it has done a great job on that.

It's fast, prints are high quality, and we are getting much better mileage from the toner vs our last machine. The ONLY issue remaining is printing double-sided. So far, this has not gone well. But as our main general printer, it's reliable.

It has magnificent photo printing capabilities and a large scanner bed. Setup was a total breeze and it uses less ink than my other printers to accomplish the same job. We have printed many thousands of pages and use the scanner regularly. We use the larger paper size and the automatic feeds and have no problems. It was the larger ink cartridges that sold us in the first place, but it is the quality that keeps us going.

I looked and looked for the extra cartridges that I assumed must be in the box to make such a claim. That purchase was two years ago and I still have enough ink to last another 800 pages. I was so impressed that when our church needed another printer it was a no brainer to get another high yield Brother printer. Very pleased with these printers.

You can get up and running very quickly and then go back and learn the software features. The ink cartridges are well thought out and reasonable priced. This bets the Epson printer with perpriatory ink you have to buy. It also bets the poor construction of the HP printers I was looking at. Epson and HP both use paper trays that are poorly located and are poorly constructed. You'll like what this printer has to offer. It's solid performance bets Epson and HP hands down.

It will want to print from the tray in the back as opposed to the bottom tray. It can jam pretty often. I do get more printing from the cartridges and they aren't as expensive as my other printer.

The fact that it can handle ledger sized paper (11x17 through both printing and scanning, sold me on the spot. I was surprised to find out it only scanned one side at a time because the vendor's documentation for the printer was incorrect. However, Brother includes Paper Port which allows you to scan both sides of a multipage document and assembles it for you.

I really wanted to replace it with the same or similar printer, but it was not available when I needed it. I needed a printer that was capable of printing 11 x 17 ledger sheets and the 6545 met that need. The MFC-J6545 was easy to set up and works fine but I do miss my duplex copier that the 5945 had.. I have now order a brother duplex desktop scanner.

It feels sturdier than a Brother printer I had about six years ago. Quiet, and it just works. I have not tried to print photos, but the image quality on embedded graphics using regular paper is good, although slightly washed. I have a hardwired Ethernet connection. My laptop and phones reliably find it. It is early days, but initial experience has been good. Hopefully brother remind me to do an update a year from now.

This problem was solved by downloading Brother iPrint and Scan and it now works perfectly.

I purchased this in May, 2020 and have printed over 10,000 copies. I have refilled the tanks only once which was easy and no mess at all. It is connected wirelessly to my network. This is a workhorse. I researched for months before I purchased and waited this long to write a review. Having two trays from which to print different types of media is totally a time saving convenience that I use all the time. I have used every function, print, copy, fax and scan and have had no problems. It is a large machine and will take up space, but it is well worth it. No regrets and would purchase again.

After contacting Brother, I was sent a replacement or reconditioned printer in about 4 days. Great service. The replacement works fine most of the time. At times it has a mind of its own - it goes into the two sided print mode and locks there until the power is turned off and the machine started again fresh.

Only Brother ink cartridges were used. Cleaned the nozzles MANY times using the machine's procedures, but the post-cleaning prints became worse each time I ran the cleaning process.

I use 3 to a page checks, 8 1/2 /X 11. Printer works fine if I am printing a full page, but that is rarely the case. I have yet to figure out how to print a partial page.

I tried to add it to my laptop onto get this error code Error 0x00000643 which is a Windows Vista printer error. I called tech support but he told me he couldn't help me that I'd have to contact Microsoft. So now I have a printer that doesn't work with my laptop. This kinda makes me upset since you advertise that it's Vista compatible. The Tech guy should have found out a solution to my problem and called me back. Doesn't do what it's advertised to do.

This printer is silent practically, doesn’t shake all over the place like it’s at a rave, and has properly sized ink cartridges. In addition, I love the feature where it will automatically order ink every time it gets low so you are never without ink. Highly recommend this printer!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wow I am very pleased so far with my new Brother Inkjet Printer (MFC-J6545DW, it covers all the bases for my Home Office needs, and can produce impressive print quality on items that require more of a “pop” for customers and presentation. Being that I work with a lot of both mechanical and electrical prints, the larger format is very useful. I would recommend this unit to anyone looking for a “Home Office / Small Office” all in 1 unit, it performs well, and is backed with a nice warranty. Just as a “side note”, I replaced an old Brother Laser Printer with this unit, and so far, I’m very glad I did; my old Brother unit was 12 years old, so it served me well, but the print quality on this new Brother Inkjet, is simply impressive compared to the Brother Laser unit I replaced.

None of their current models fit my needs but this one absolutely does - and then some! The setup was extremely easy and the high volume everyday printing and scanning works very well. Easy to set up, runs like a workhorse. The only downside I have is memory size for my large pdf scans but I just need to lower dpi and am fine. Brother is now my choice over HP going forward.

Not sure what the disconnect is, so I need to call to correct as it's probably something simple. Otherwise, the printer works great. Fast printing and scanning, which I need for working from home.

There is problem however in resetting the printer with the functions that would enable to produce copies that are normal after using the photo function. I am troubleshooting to have the copier function normally. The photo setting is not resetting to normal copying quality and therefore is very slow and using too much ink and a challenge to use the touch pad to change it.

The BAD; the drivers leave a lot to be desired, the color printing is unacceptable and after about 30 days the bypass feeder is jamming 100% of the time (I ran the clear paper path procedure) The proverbial straw that broke the camel's back is i cannot find a copy of the warranty anywhere on this web site. This was my first (and last) Brother product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice printer let down by software and support Overall, when able to print it works well (4 stars – but given the software issues (2 stars) – I have to give it an overall rating of 3 and recommend if it is your only Brother printer. The printer is let down by what I would describe as disastrously buggy software that would not let inkjet work/print properly with a Brother laser model MFC-L3770CDW I already had installed (iPrint&Scan, utilites and update software particularly). I had no problem finding the printer(s) when installing but afterward I kept getting no print driver error and/or printer(s) offline leaving me unable to print from either printer. I tried uninstalling/reinstalling with no luck. So, I contacted Brother and left messages every day for over 6 days on a phone number Brother directly provided for me for support. I finally contacted Best Buy for help and that did the trick as Brother finally contacted me. The person who I was transferred to (35 minutes on hold) was great but it did take a while for them to uninstall and delete everything out before re-installing both printers’ software/drivers. They accessed my computer remotely, which was fine with me. I don’t know what happened in this instance as I received excellent support last year with a print issue with the laser (wasn’t using laser paper to print pictures – my operator error). Installing another Brother printer should not be this difficult and it is not an isolated incident as I am experiencing same issues trying to add the laser to other laptops/desktops/phones that I own. I suspect if this is your only Brother printer it would probably work fine. I had no issues printing/scanning using an HP inkjet with the Laser. The printer itself I think is nice if a tad large (22.5W x 19D and 25.5D with MP open in back and paper collector open in front - x 12.5H inches) and heavy, at around 44lbs. I think this size could make it somewhat impractical for home use as wherever it is placed you really need to be able to access all sides of printer in case of jam, etc. I put it on a rolling metal cart I already had. In the box are; Instructions Power cord about 6 feet. It has NO cumbersome brick. 4 toner cartridges (black, cyan, magenta and yellow) Telephone line cord This printer checks a lot of boxes; Grayscale and color printing up to 1200 x 4800 dpi Automated duplex printing Scanner – 19200 x 19200 dpi interpolated 1200 x 2400 dpi (scanner glass) 600 x 600 dpi (from ADF) Copier – 1200x 4800 dpi Fax – I didn’t use this function Wireless/ethernet/usb connections. Ethernet and USB connections require you to flip open under the scanner to access the connections. Does include phone cable but no USB or ethernet cable. Has a 3.5-inch color touchscreen. You can do a lot of adjustments using this and it is pretty intuitive but I found it a tad touchy when trying to scroll. Luckily there are up/down/side arrows which I found easier to use to navigate by. Easily accessed USB 2.0 port in front to allow printing from thumb drives, etc. Main tray has 250 sheet capacity holding up to 11x17. Multi-purpose (MP) tray has 100 sheet capacity up to 11x7 I found the duplex printing to be very fast whether using greyscale or color. Scanning worked well producing very accurate replication. Also has adjustments for resolution, size, etc. But no auto 2-sided scan, you must flip over manually. As such 2-sided cannot be done if using ADF. If using the plate to scan the top expands upward an inch or so to allow for thicker source such as scanning from a book, etc. Can scan up to 11x17 source. Text printing was very crisp and clear with no smudging even if using lowest resolution and ink saving option(s). Pictures came out great except for fast as it left a few lines running across the pic. But wouldn’t normally use this resolution if printing a picture, but wanted to mention. 2-year warranty Dislikes: Software as mentioned above. I am concerned that this unit with its ink “tank”. I have had issues in the past with inkjet printers ink drying up between prints leaving me constantly wasting ink needing to “clean” the heads. Only time will tell if this unit has any of these dry ink issues. Printer is a tad noisy with all of its buzzing and clicks. Although I did not try quiet mode – which lengthens print times.

I'm printing out colored schematics and mechanical drawings on B-size paper and lines look a little fuzzy. But big improvement over trying to read the drawing printed A-size on old printer. Good value for the money

The printer is apparently telling me that the envelope is not standard yet it is - a Sobres #10 (4.13 in x 9.5 in.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So far the best Printer I've owned since 1989 I've had multiple makes of printers, this one tops them all, Everything that functions, front and back printing, copying, feed, types of paper accepted, dimensions of paper, and the speed at which the finished product is produced is phenomenal. Its truly amazing the improvements that since my firs dot matrix, printer. I'm completely satisfied with my purchase and with the ease that I was able to connect to my different devices; phone, and computer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Prints fast and at a low cost. We have had other Brother multifunction office printers and this model is a step up. The ink tank technology is a big improvement and the cost of ink is a great value. The big problem we have had is printing from multiple Macs, IPads and IPhones. We keep having power off the printer and turn it back on in order for the machine to be able to find the printer even though nothing has changed on the network. Looking for help from Customer support because that just should not be necessary.

Even being retired, I still have need of a high capacity printer that can print on ledger size paper and this is the first one I've had that has been 100% reliable. And it's the most efficient when it comes to consumption of ink. A great printer.

After using the new product for a few days, I am also satisfied with its performance, which does not differ from the previous one, but exceeds it. I think I will enjoy the next few years because the device is very cheap to use. I highly recommend Brother because of its ease of use and multifunctionality.
