Then istarted getting error message for tray 1, same thing, no paper. This i can get around by filling tray full and opening and closing the tray then it will print..

No matter what I do, or how many video's I watch I can't get it to print correctly. I tried to call customer service but the wait was to long. The price for this printer is great, the quality and speed are very nice and I would have given it a 5 star except for the problems with printing.

I still have trouble getting it to automatically decide to print legal or letter, hence the 4 star. If I could get that figured out it would be a 5 star. The quality of the print is great, nice and clean. It's also very quite while printing.

I needed a printer in which page separator software wasn’t required. I need it to recognize letter and legal size and printing accordingly. It does print legal and letter if I print them individually but these are large docs and this printer prints everything either in legal or letter.

I thought it would be a one time change, and it would be set until I changed it back. I have wasted quite a bit of paper due to this problem. I just have to remember to check the page setting every time before I print.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Disappointing After many attempts to get my printer to print by PDF selection and re-installing the driver,re-setting instructions on the printer, going through all of this again with your tech, who eventually told me he had done everything that he could and that I should contact Adobe. I think there is something wrong with this printer.I purchased it from Amazon October 1, 2020. I just had my computer fully serviced and cleaned, which cost me money I didn't have to spend to hopefully ratify the problem, to no avail. I am not very happy with it and would like a replacement please.

It stopped connecting to wifi and I ended up doing a direct line to my computer from the printer. I give it points for being fast when working properly

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Would be 5 stars , love it, but.. So this is by far the best printer I have ever used, let me say that. It really has done 99% of what I need or want of it. However when it goes into a “deep sleep” it disconnects from the WiFi and requires a restart of the printer and a tap of the router to re connect. I only have to do this once a day and it really doesn’t create a headache since it’s part of my routine now. It works well with my iPhone 11pro even though I’ve seen some reviews that say the opposite. No regrets in the purchase just some quirks.

The printer is supposed to automatically differentiate between letter and legal and print accordingly. It does NOT. This has caused me to waste paper and ink. If anyone decides to buy this product despite my review, please let me know I will sell you mine.

I only need to learn to designate tray 2 as legal paper only and that it will automatically go there when it detects legal size documents.

Your technicians couldn't figure out what was wrong with my 5370 and told me I had to get a new machine. The new one had the exact same problem. Someone finally figured out the problem and it was not the printer.

The printer tends to jam going between different size paper. I print mortgage packages so most print jobs have legal and letter size paper. Even though the jam is easy to clear, this can be frustrating. The printer also decides when the toner needs to be changed and will stop printing when it hits the max number.

I am a retired graphic artist and for years I used an older model Brother printer which gave me the solid black I needed on vellum. This one does not, but do not fear. For general use printing text it is an excellent printer!

I use letter and legal and each document set is a mix of the two sizes. The machine seems to jam when it needs to switch from letter to legal and vise versa. It seems to happen only the first time and once the jam is fixed, it seems to work fine. It was also very difficult to get it configured. I had to spend 2 plus hours on the phone to get it set up.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very reliable, perfect for notaries I bought it becasue I need to have my pdf set to auto, itmenas it selects which try to use automatically basedon the documents' settings. So, for notaries printing mortage packages this printer is thw best choice for several reasons. It is laser and it will save money on ink if you print hundreds of pages a month (vs. inkject and some lenders will not accept loan documents printed on inkjets. Second it switches automatically between legal size and letter/A4, and that was the main reason why this printer is great. You need ot set to auto in your pdf doc printing settings and you need to set your trays 1 to legal (smaller one) and one to letter (lower tray) and you will be good to go. I know from other users that these printers form Brother can run for years. It is also a good printer for small business where you share your printer on wifi network.

I installed this printer with two different instances on our print server; one for forms and one for plain paper. I find that this is easier than selecting a paper source from the printer menu. This is a real workhorse and holds a lot of paper and toner. Highly recommended.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A nightmare to set up to WiFi but now working well My husband is in IT and is very familiar with setting things up to work with a WiFi network, but he had a terrible time getting this to connect to our home network. Like it took him all afternoon and I heard lots of cursing. But he eventually got it going and now it's working well. My only complaint is that the first page it prints often has a lot of tiny black spots on it, like excess toner. I haven't taken the time to find out if there's something I can do to fix that yet. Printing is fast and quality is good.

If it has not been used for a few hours, and you print a doc, the print will be speckled with tonner. This subsides with continued use or when longer documents are printed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cons / Pro Prints good. The only con is the security feature of sleep & deep sleep mode, I have to unplug it when I haven’t used it . I’m sure this would be a pro as well for security functionality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gets the job done! This printer is easy to setup and easy to use. I enjoy it's Bluetooth capability which allows me to print from any room in my home. Although I have not figure out how to get it to sense different paper size within a print package yet, this printer is ideal for my notary loan signing business.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Printer for Loan Signing Agents I use this for my loan signing business now, handles letter / legal mixed files seamlessly. Took a bit to get it to work, but once you get ahold of the right person in Support it just takes them a few minutes to get it going correctly. One thing he taught me is to rotate the view 180 degrees, then print - and works perfectly. Something to do with Adobe DC - and how the Brother software works with it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fast, efficient and easy! I love this printer. It makes the tasks of printing large multi size documents a breeze! The only thing I can't figure out is how to stop printing when a tray is empty. It seems to default to the other tray regardless. Maybe a setting I'm missing. Regardless, this is the best printer out there for large print jobs - highly recommend and worth the money!

I one Brother tech didn’t figure it out and when I called back another tech said it would cost me for the help after already paying extra cause of limited products.

Also if you have any issues Brother Help Assistance will provide extensive help to ensure that your machine is operating as you need. If there is a software concern they will direct you to that particular vendor.

This unit is a workhorse, and I like the larger capacity drawers, network capabilities and overall design. I hope to get many years of use out of it. I purchased this printer directly from Brother; pricing was very good and shipping was very fast. I highly recommend this model.
