Rated 5 out of 5 by from Enables organizations to have Wi-Fi coverage everywhere and enhances user experience What is our primary use case? We use the product for internet connection. We use it for Wi-Fi coverage in our restaurants, bars, and lobbies. It handles high-density environments well. Some of our restaurants have 300 to 500 people. It’s the same in the bars and lobbies. How has it helped my organization? The lobby is the main area for the guests. We use Ruckus to cover the whole lobby. It also helps in the beach bar. It is a big place with a capacity of 400 people. It is a high-density environment. What is most valuable? The solution enhances the user experience. Our guests can post photos on social media at any time. They need not wait till they get back to their rooms. They can also post live videos. It enhances the guest experience. What needs improvement? Pricing is the main barrier to hardware upgrades. It is too expensive. The cost must be reduced. For how long have I used the solution? I have been using the solution for more than two years. What do I think about the stability of the solution? I rate the tool’s stability a nine or ten out of ten. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? The tool is scalable. We have 2000 to 2500 users. We have three people on the technical team. How are customer service and support? We reach out to the support team when we face big challenges. How was the initial setup? The setup is straightforward. The configuration and installation take two days. What about the implementation team? The implementation can be done in-house. What was our ROI? We work with different products. We often choose the solution that provides the best price for the specifications we require. What other advice do I have? We do not use many features. I use the controller. I will recommend the product to others. It is a stable solution. Overall, I rate the tool eight to nine out of ten. Which deployment model are you using for this solution? Rated 5 out of 5 by from Provides superior coverage and is very dependable What is our primary use case? We have different use cases for this solution. We deploy it for many of our customers in a variety of organizations including financial, manufacturing and retail. The use case depends on the needs of an organization. We are resellers. What is most valuable? The solution provides superior coverage and works as it should without any issues. What needs improvement? I would like to see the integration of security services that you'd find in Fortinet, for example, where you have the ability to integrate the firewall with it. I'd like to see some sort of security-specific platform that you find in many other solutions where there is a security gateway or something similar. For now, we deal with this by combining additional solutions with Ruckus. For how long have I used the solution? I've been using this solution for 10 years. What do I think about the stability of the solution? The solution is stable. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? The solution is scalable. What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? This is a relatively more expensive product. What other advice do I have? Until now, our company has mainly used Ruckus but of late we're moving more to Fortinet Wi-Fi. I rate this solution 10 out of 10. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Helpful support, easy to deploy, and simple to use What is our primary use case? Ruckus is very useful with hospitality. Actually, it's unique when it comes to hospitality and education, and high-use environments. What is most valuable? The solution is very easy to use. The stability is great. It's a very stable product and is very good at hospitality integration. The cloud path solution for education is very helpful. When it comes to onboarding students and employees to the system, it's easy. The product can scale. Support is helpful. Users get a good ROI. What needs improvement? The development time is slow. It takes a very long time to get new features. That said, when upgrades do come, it's quite stable. It would be nice, however, to get more frequent updates. The cloud system from Ruckus is not mature enough just yet. They need a better cloud controller. For how long have I used the solution? I've been using the solution for about 12 years. What do I think about the stability of the solution? The solution is very stable and reliable. There are no bugs or glitches, and it doesn't crash or freeze. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? The scalability is great. I'd rate it nine out of ten in terms of the ability to expand as needed. We have more than 40 clients using the product right now. How are customer service and support? Technical support is quite helpful. They keep track of tickets quite well. How was the initial setup? The deployments are fast. It takes a maximum of one hour to deploy an on-premises version and less than 30 minutes if you are deploying to the cloud. You only need one or two people to manage the deployment and maintenance of the solution. The implementation typically requires a network engineer. What about the implementation team? We are a systems integrator. We are able to deploy the solution easily ourselves. What was our ROI? We've seen a very good ROI. I'd rate the ability to achieve ROI nine out of ten. What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? On-premises deployments have perpetual licensing. Cloud licenses offer a yearly subscription. What other advice do I have? We're integrators. We can use on-premises and cloud deployments. I'd recommend the solution to others, however, it depends on the size of the network. They have multiple models of access points and switches, so whether this product would be ideal or not depends on the sizing. Overall, I would rate the solution eight out of ten. Which deployment model are you using for this solution? On-premises Disclaimer: My company has a business relationship with this vendor other than being a customer:Integrator

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It is controller-based and easy to configure, but it needs to automate its guest Wifi access function What is most valuable? What I like best about Ruckus Wireless is that it's a controller-based product, so it's easy to configure. What needs improvement? An area for improvement in Ruckus Wireless is automating its guest WiFi access function. Currently, the product requires token generation, so it would be better if there's a portal for the guest to log in and get the password rather than the IT team needing to give passwords to guests. A minor area for improvement in Ruckus Wireless is its technical support. I want a built-in RADIUS server on Ruckus Wireless in the next release, as that would add some value to the product. For how long have I used the solution? My company has been using Ruckus Wireless for five years. What do I think about the stability of the solution? Regarding stability, I rate Ruckus Wireless as eight out of ten. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? Ruckus Wireless is scalable. Every controller has a limit on the number of APs, and my company's controller can handle one thousand APs. Still, my company only uses two hundred APs, so Ruckus Wireless is a scalable product. How are customer service and support? My rating for Ruckus Wireless technical support is eight out of ten. It has a small room for improvement. How would you rate customer service and support? Positive Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch? My company purchased Aruba Wireless for a new location based on Gartner recommendations. My company also made a technical comparison and found that Aruba Wireless is the number one product in the world, which is why the company is leaning toward it versus Ruckus Wireless. How was the initial setup? Ruckus Wireless has a simple initial setup. What about the implementation team? An integrator deployed Ruckus Wireless for my company, but my company is responsible for maintaining the product. What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? Regarding pricing, Ruckus Wireless is a five out of ten. Though it's cheaper than Aruba Wireless, pricing for Ruckus Wireless, when you look at its functionality, could be more affordable. What other advice do I have? My company has Ruckus Wireless switching and AP products. In the company, about one thousand five hundred people use Ruckus Wireless. Four network engineers maintain the product within the company. Ruckus Wireless is a seven on a scale of one to ten. I'm recommending the product to others. My company is a Ruckus Wireless customer. Which deployment model are you using for this solution? On-premises Disclaimer: I am a real user, and this review is based on my own experience and opinions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Set up and forget, suitable for high-density environments and offers good stability What is our primary use case? Ruckus Wireless is used in high-density environments, such as theaters, meeting rooms, and city centers where there is a lot of interference from other wireless networks. What is most valuable? One of the biggest features of Ruckus Wireless is its BeamFlex+ technology. It's a potential technology only available through Ruckus wireless access points. This technology permits to follow each user during its Wi-Fi experience, which is awesome. What needs improvement? The pricing is the biggest issue with Ruckus wireless. It's so expensive, but Ruckus are just the best. So, from my point of view, portal features are something missing in Ruckus Wireless. I want to see Ruckus Wireless integrate a Wi-Fi portal into its product. This would allow for easier user authentication for vendors. For how long have I used the solution? We are a vendor or reseller of Ruckus Wireless, and we deploy it across different customers. I have been working with Ruckus Wireless for 15 years. I deal with the latest version of Ruckus Wireless. What do I think about the stability of the solution? I would rate the stability a ten out of ten. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? We have more than 100 customers currently using Ruckus Wireless in our business area. So, I would rate the scalability a ten out of ten. It is a very scalable product. How are customer service and support? The customer service and support ask too much. The product on it says it's already really expensive. And if you want premium support, then it's, again, more money, and then it becomes really too hard. How would you rate customer service and support? Neutral Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch? I worked with Ubiquiti and Aruba. We have replaced Ubiquiti with TP-Link. So if we need a cheap solution, then we'll go rather to TP-Link than to Ubiquiti. How was the initial setup? There are no difficulties with installing Ruckus Wireless. However, you have to be certified to install Ruckus wireless equipment. So, today, there's a key version of Ruckus wireless, which is called the unleashed version, where you have no controller, but you miss lots of features when you do that, so we never use it. Ruckus Wireless is both an on-premises and cloud-based solution. The antennas are always on-premises, but the management can be done in the cloud. The time it takes to deploy Ruckus Wireless depends on the complexity of the infrastructure. For a small deployment, it can take about 30 minutes per device. But it surely depends on the complexities and experience of the person. When you use the cloud controller, it's really a job for an expert, not for the novices. What about the implementation team? I'm a technician with extensive experience in Ruckus Wireless. Our implementation strategy for Ruckus Wireless is the same as for any other product. What was our ROI? There is an ROI because it's really set up and forget. It just does its job. It saves a lot of time. It is a reliable solution. What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? There are extra expenses in addition to standard licensing. What other advice do I have? I would recommend using this solution for professional use. And if it's just like amateurs, people who don't have experience with it, so they might face some difficulties. That's a question of connection density. So if you want to deliver Wi-Fi to more than a hundred people in a small room, then you do it with Ruckus, or you don't. Overall, I would rate the solution a ten out of ten. Rated 5 out of 5 by from No improvements necessary What needs improvement? There is some strain with Ruckus because of various buyouts involving the company used for data centers and the cluster. What other advice do I have? I don't have any problems or improvements to suggest for this solution. I would rate it as nine out of ten. Disclaimer: I am a real user, and this review is based on my own experience and opinions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Has reasonable price, lifetime warranty, and good signal strength What is most valuable? The controller is most valuable. Through Ruckus ZoneDirector, we can easily manage the websites and the web. We are using the R610 or R510 model, and it is good in terms of signals. What needs improvement? They can improve the cloud portion. Other vendors have a cloud controller, and they can provide the same so that we can see everything. For how long have I used the solution? I have been using this solution for eight years. What do I think about the stability of the solution? It is stable. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? It is scalable. We have more than 100 users. How are customer service and support? They provide quite good support, and for the product, they have a lifetime warranty. How was the initial setup? It is very easy. The setup or configuration of a new access point takes only 10 minutes. What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? Its price is reasonable for me. What other advice do I have? It is a good product, and it is very competitive in terms of price. I would rate it a nine out of ten. Which deployment model are you using for this solution? Rated 5 out of 5 by from Robust technology that's easy to configure and user-friendly What is our primary use case? Our use case is for public Wifi. I'm a system integrator. What is most valuable? The product is easy to configure and user-friendly. The technology is very robust. What needs improvement? I'd like to see some analytics features in the control itself. For how long have I used the solution? I've been using this solution for 10 years. What do I think about the stability of the solution? The solution is stable. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? The solution is scalable. If one controller is not sufficient, you can add another. How are customer service and support? We have access to technical support and they are generally quite good. How would you rate customer service and support? Positive How was the initial setup? The initial setup was very easy, it's just a matter of configuring the access point. It's recognized by the controller, and when you onboard it on the wireless network everything is done automatically. One access point takes about 10 minutes to deploy. Other than for the software, there is no maintenance required. What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? Licensing costs are reasonable and we can pay extra for additional support. What other advice do I have? I highly recommend this solution and rate it nine out of 10. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to use, overall good functionality, and simple to manage What is our primary use case? Ruckus Wireless is used for networking and security. They have both cloud-based and on-premise controllers available. You often see this solution in the hospitality sector. What is most valuable? Ruckus Wireless is more of a plain Wi-Fi solution where it does the basic job well. Additionally, it has good conductivity, easy to use, simple to manage, and its access points can be used as standalone devices which gives flexibility in the SMB market. What needs improvement? The solution lacks a lot of features other solutions provide. If you are an organization that is more focused on security or you need a lot of other features, such as location tracking then Ruckus Wireless may not be the right choice. If you want a solution with more than basic security I would choose Arista or Aruba. Ruckus has gone through too many changes in their management, and in the last four or five years, they have been lacking feature sets that others provide. Additionally, the integration, network security, and BLE features need to be improved. There are key features they are still lacking. For how long have I used the solution? I used Ruckus Wireless within the past 12 months. What do I think about the stability of the solution? The solution is highly stable. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? Ruckus Wireless is scalable. However, in terms of the scalability of the controller, there is always a limit on the number of access points or clients the hardware can support. If the access points are placed in a decent place with multiple options of controllers everything works well. Ruckus Wireless is the best fit for the SMB market which they have a dominant presence. We have deployed the solution in an educational institute and in a restaurant that has a lodging segment and a coworking space. How are customer service and support? I have not faced any problems with the solution to need to contact the technical support. How was the initial setup? The solution is straightforward. It can be done in a short period of time. What about the implementation team? Once you deploy Ruckus Wireless correctly, there is no maintenance required. It is close to maintenance-free, except for some operational jobs which depend upon what the customer may want and that is where you need human intervention. What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? If you walk into any restaurant or hotel you will find Ruckus Wireless solutions because it is economical when it comes to pricing. There is a basic subscription for the license and support. Which other solutions did I evaluate? I have evaluated Arista and Aruba. What other advice do I have? I would recommend Ruckus Wireless to anyone who is looking for a plain Wi-Fi solution. If you want Wi-Fi that will provide wireless connectivity that is good and stable, this is the solution to pick. If you need a solution with a lot of features for the network, such as wireless intrusion prevention or internal location tracking, there are other solutions that you should look for. I rate Ruckus Wireless an eight out of ten. Disclaimer: My company has a business relationship with this vendor other than being a customer:Integrator

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Allows us to have the same SSID for several devices and is straightforward to deploy What is our primary use case? We use it for WiFi in our company. What is most valuable? There can be the same SSID for several devices. What needs improvement? The software should be made more stable. For how long have I used the solution? I have been using this solution for three or four years. What do I think about the stability of the solution? It is better than before. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? Its scalability is enough. There are 10 to 20 users per device. How are customer service and support? Their support is enough for us. How was the initial setup? It was straightforward. The deployment took one week or two weeks. What about the implementation team? It was done in-house. We have two people for its maintenance. What other advice do I have? I would rate it a nine out of 10. Which deployment model are you using for this solution? On-premises Disclaimer: I am a real user, and this review is based on my own experience and opinions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from High performance, efficient, and signal reliable What is our primary use case? I am using Ruckus Wireless for networking. Our company provides an e-commerce platform, which includes a workspace. We have a franchise in Pakistan that enables e-commerce. Currently, we have 70 access points on one floor and 40 on another floor, and we do not anticipate any issues with the network. We are using the standard model. How has it helped my organization? We have three networks and a network distribution panel. Ruckus Wireless has benefited us by overseeing our access points, and seamlessly transferring connectivity between the backup systems and the main access points. This management system operates effectively, allowing us to consistently upload and download with a workload of 30/40 Mbps. Our security solutions also require a 30 Mbps connection. What is most valuable? The most valuable feature of Ruckus Wireless is its exceptional performance and reliability. The signal is highly reliable. We have not received a single complaint in the past year, which is a marked improvement from our prior equipment. What needs improvement? The solution is sensitive with reference to power fluctuations. This sensitivity should be improved. Additionally, the solution should have more security features integrated. For how long have I used the solution? I have been using Ruckus Wireless for approximately one year. What do I think about the stability of the solution? Ruckus Wireless is a reliable and stable solution. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? We have a total of 95 users spread across two floors and the Ruckus Wireless system has been managing everything smoothly and efficiently. The solution is scalable. If you want to expand the network, you only need to add access points. How are customer service and support? I have not used the support from Ruckus Wireless. Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch? After conducting a comprehensive market analysis, our team arrived at the conclusion that Ruckus Wireless was the optimal solution for our commercial needs. The level of consistency demonstrated by Ruckus Wireless was unparalleled and thus, we made the decision to transition from our old solution to their offering. How was the initial setup? The initial setup of Ruckus Wireless was simple. The deployment didn't take long. Each one took us a day to complete. When deploying the solution, there were several steps involved. Initially, we faced some delays due to the requirement of certain civil works, such as the installation of network cables, switches, and related equipment. This process took us a longer, approximately a week to complete, but with the help of a highly skilled and professional team of engineers, we were able to manage it effectively. In total, the entire deployment process took approximately two weeks to complete and wasn't too challenging to manage, considering the expertise of our team members. I rate the initial setup of Ruckus Wireless an eight out of ten. What about the implementation team? We have third-party engineers help us with the implementation of the solution. We used one network manager and two assistants from our team. A total of five people were involved in the process. What was our ROI? As a highly qualified individual, the investment in Ruckus Wireless is not only beneficial but also well-justified in terms of its cost. By utilizing this investment, I have been able to significantly reduce my expenses as I no longer need to repeatedly call on an engineer for support. This has been a cost-saving measure for me and I am extremely satisfied with the outcome. What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? The price of Ruckus Wireless is more expensive than other options. I rate the price of Ruckus Wireless a six out of ten. Which other solutions did I evaluate? We evaluated other options before choosing Ruckus Wireless. What other advice do I have? The maintenance of the solution is simple. My advice to others is the solution is consistent, efficient, and easy to install. I rate Ruckus Wireless an eight out of ten. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Flexible and reasonably priced with good technical support What is our primary use case? We use this solution for a variety of companies, including those in transportation and the government sector as well. It's used for wireless access. What is most valuable? Overall, we are very satisfied with its capabilities. The pricing is very reasonable. It is flexible. It contains almost all of the new features that solutions require for wireless access. The scalability has been very good. Technical support has been good. What needs improvement? It would be ideal if the solution offered more features. The product could use more integration capabilities. For how long have I used the solution? We've used the solution for a while now. We use it continuously, on different projects. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? We've installed the solution for many clients so far. We find the solution to be very scalable. I'd rate the scalability at about an eight or a nine out of ten. We have ten employees that work directly with the product. How are customer service and technical support? We have been satisfied with technical support, they have been helpful and responsive. Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch? We use solutions such as Juniper, Cisco Meraki, Ruckus, and Extreme. We are an independent integrator company, so we use the best solution for the customer. How was the initial setup? The time it takes to install the solution depends on the number of the EPs. We are speaking about the settings, not the manual installation. If we are speaking about the configuration, it takes one day in most cases. We have a team of ten that can handle deployment and maintenance tasks. They are all engineers. What about the implementation team? We handle the implementation process for our clients. What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? The solution is reasonably priced as compared to, for example, Cisco, which is much more expensive. Customers need to pay a yearly licensing fee. What other advice do I have? Every month we have different installation projects. Sometimes we use Ruckus if the customer is satisfied with this solution. Usually, we suggest things to the customer based on if the price and if a client is price-conscious they tend to choose this, as opposed to Cisco, which is more expensive. I'd rate the solution at a nine out of ten. We have been happy with it so far. I'd recommend the solution to other users and organizations. Which deployment model are you using for this solution? How has it helped my organization? The throughput has been excellent. What is most valuable? The solution does not disconnect, which is extremely helpful, especially when you are working from home. The signal, strength-wise, is its most valuable aspect. These frequencies pass through touch one to 200 voltage. The distortion will not affect this product. That's why we suggest it to our clients. The initial setup is very simple. We have found the solution to be very stable. It's great in interior and exterior environments. The scalability is great. What needs improvement? The pricing of the product can be a bit expensive. They should work on making pricing more competitive. For how long have I used the solution? I've been using the solution since 2015. What do I think about the stability of the solution? It is a stable product. The product is very good and very reliable and functions well in indoor and outdoor settings. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? The scalability of the product is quite good. In my organization, right now, we have 35 workers and we are planning to move our office. There will be 5,200 people there. We do plan to increase usage. How are customer service and support? Technical support could be better. They should also have it so that it's included and you should not have to pay extra for it. Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch? I'm also familiar with Aruba. Compared to Aruba, the frequency will not disconnect. We tried Cisco, also, however, we heard that it's not a good product. Price-wise, they're really cheap, however, they are not a better product. How was the initial setup? The initial setup is extremely simple and straightforward. It's not overly complex or difficult. Typically, one access point can be deployed in 15 minutes. The solution doesn't really need much maintenance. We have used it for seven or eight years without incident. What about the implementation team? Our engineers are able to implement the solution for our clients. We can implement it for ourselves in-house using our team. We can easily mount the materials. What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? The product is very expensive. Technical support should also be included in the pricing. We tend to deal with yearly licensing renewal fees. We buy packages in bundles and then, every year, we need to pay to renew. What other advice do I have? We are Ruckus partners. We are systems integrators. I'm not sure which version of the solution we're using at this time. I'd rate the solution at a nine out of ten. Which deployment model are you using for this solution? Rated 5 out of 5 by from Effective user traceability and reliable What is our primary use case? We use Ruckus Wireless for network security. What is most valuable? Ruckus Wireless supports the most recent technologies. We can trace every individual and what kind of traffic they're using on our campus. It is very helpful. For how long have I used the solution? I have been using Ruckus Wireless for approximately five months. What do I think about the stability of the solution? The stability of Ruckus Wireless is very good. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? Ruckus Wireless is scalable. We have approximately 1,800 users using the solution indoor and outdoor we are supporting approximately 50,000 users. How are customer service and support? We have not had any problem with the solution. We have a warranty with the solution which is good. Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch? We use Ruckus Wireless in parallel with Cisco because it is less expensive than Cisco. How was the initial setup? The initial setup was not simple. We were installing indoor and outdoor wireless and this is why it took us three months. What about the implementation team? The implementation of the solution was done by the vendor. The time of the implementation took approximately three months. We have 10 system administrators for the support of this solution. They check all activities on the campus. What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? The price of Ruckus Wireless is less expensive than other solutions, such as Cisco. We have licenses for 500 access points. What other advice do I have? As a network professional, and an IT manager in a university, the Ruckus product is working with all the vendor's standards. There are common standards, they can be called something different based on the vendors. Ruckus Wireless, in Ethiopia, is not popular, including Huawei. However, Cisco is popular. This solution is very good and they should introduce it to their network because they could see many benefits. I rate Ruckus Wireless an eight out of ten. Which deployment model are you using for this solution? On-premises Disclaimer: I am a real user, and this review is based on my own experience and opinions.

Since we became a Ruckus partner, we've managed to increase our sales, and it has helped us deliver better solutions for our clients. It's highly competitive with American and Chinese products, like Huawei and Aruba. What is most valuable? Ruckus features a centralized architecture solution with ultrasound technology, which helps us with communication and roaming. What needs improvement? The switching could be improved. The active component requires a data center. Cisco and HPE have a complete solution for data centers. Ruckus has a core solution, but the data center aspect needs to be improved. For how long have I used the solution? I've been using Ruckus Wireless for five years. What do I think about the stability of the solution? Ruckus' stability is excellent. Aruba is good as well, but Ruckus is better in my opinion. We receive fewer calls and tickets. Their sales and warranty are superb. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? Ruckus Wireless is scalable. It's an IP-based process that's interoperable, so you can deploy it in any environment. How are customer service and support? We are a tech support provider for Ruckus. We take calls and open tickets. Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch? We were previously an Aruba partner, but we switched to Ruckus because it's better. We've been in business for 15 years, and we have used Cisco, HPE, Extreme, Juniper, and several other vendors in that time. How was the initial setup? Ruckus provides us with tools that help us implement the solution. Also, our engineers are certified to do the design and implementation. We don't have a ready-made software design solution for it. It's all predeveloped from Ruckus. Most deployments are straightforward, but they can be complicated if a high level of integration is necessary. The time needed to deploy depends on the project and type of setup. For example, it takes about an hour to deploy the controller and AP, so it would take 100 person-hours for a project with 100 APs. The access point sometimes requires cabling, which takes time because you need technicians to do this. You may need one or two system engineers and one after-sales engineer. What was our ROI? I can't give precise figures. Some partners or resellers get benefits from using these wireless in a hospitality setting. In our job, the ROI is clear. What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? It is affordable. We get special codes from the vendor, so we can compete with others in the market. There are no hidden costs. The pricing is transparent. What other advice do I have? I rate Ruckus Wireless nine out of 10. Disclaimer: I am a real user, and this review is based on my own experience and opinions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great wireless, good reliability, and excellent connectivity What is our primary use case? We have an enterprise wireless solution with multiple vendor access points deployed across buildings and have implemented 802.1x authentication with dynamic VLANs. We have more than 100 Ruckus devices with Wpa2 enterprise authentication mode, and requests are getting authenticated from our NPS server. Our classrooms are equipped with 4*4 Mimo Wi-Fi 6 technology-based Ruckus access points that will handle more than 80 high bandwidth clients at the same time. Moreover, our meeting rooms are also equipped with 2*2 Mimo models that easily handle high bandwidth applications. How has it helped my organization? We have been migrating from Fortinet access points to Ruckus Wireless over a period of 5 years. We could experience good coverage and have increased the overall Wi-Fi quality in our organization to a large extent. We were able to provide stable bandwidth for students even at peak hours, so overall, students could learn even from hostels with uninterrupted Wi-Fi. The reliability and stability issues of Fortinet have been considerably reduced after implementing Ruckus to hostels to a large extent. Overall, internet bandwidth utilization has also been utilized effectively after the Ruckus implementation. What is most valuable? Ruckus has two important features that proved to be very useful to us 0 Channelfly and background scanning. Channelfly was proven effective in areas where changes in Wi-Fi usage are at the least. It builds a a great utilization matrix and uses channel efficiently to manage bulk users and in highly dense Wi-Fi environments. Also it has a quality rogue AP detection and exact real-time logs of intrusions. Also configurations are highly customizable and we could tune easily to suit our Wi-Fi requirements. New Wi-Fi 6 models proved to be highly effective in our highly dense environment also. What needs improvement? Ruckus should have an option to migrate existing licenses from an old controller to a new purchase; presently, this is not possible. Also, the rates are a bit higher compared to its nearest competitors - like Cisco and Aruba. The New Ruckus VM controller has an increased set of options, yet all options are scattered and is a bit complicated for even users who handle earlier hardware versions. It would have been great if Ruckus Wireless had the standalone version which they had before. Presently, it can be used only in controller-based or cloud environments. For how long have I used the solution? We have been a legacy user of Ruckus wireless for the past nine years with models from the old Ruckus 2942 to the latest model Ruckus 650 in our environment. What do I think about the stability of the solution? Extremely stable Wi-Fi coverage is ensured with Ruckus Wireless. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? It is highly scalable and can be done in virtual machine environments with scalable resources. How are customer service and support? It was pretty good customer service and support from the Ruckus team. RMA devices were shipped promptly without any delay. How would you rate customer service and support? Positive Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch? We previously used Fortinet as well as Ubiquiti access points and were literally struggling to keep our Wi-Fi stable until and unless we got Ruckus into our environment. We were forced to switch to Ruckus for better performance at peak times and also due to its increased penetrative power through hard walls. How was the initial setup? It was pretty straightforward; we got nice support from the Ruckus TAC team. What about the implementation team? We have an in-house experienced networking team for all configurations. What was our ROI? We could really utilize our bandwidth effectively after our Ruckus implementation. We could handle the yearly bandwidth cost and server access expenses when stable Wi-Fi access is being provided to end users. What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? Pricing and licensing are a concern for average enterprises as Ruckus is overpriced when compared to Aruba and Cisco. Also, it is better to go with a new controller license rather than adding to an old one since, over a period of time, most of the new devices will be supporting only the latest controllers. Which other solutions did I evaluate? We looked into Aruba and Cisco. However, Ruckus has the upper hand in terms of advanced Wi-Fi features. It has got a highly customizable controller to meet our flexible Wi-Fi requirements. What other advice do I have? Currently, Ruckus is the best in this arena, and I would highly recommend having this solution on your premises to get superb and stable Wi-Fi infrastructure. Which deployment model are you using for this solution? On-premises If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use? Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent cloud connectivity, with a single console that can be monitored and managed from any location in the world. What is our primary use case? We recently proposed a Ruckus solution using Cisco switches, in our local area. We have a local network for Cisco switches that we can help implement, as well as wireless connectivity that we are proposing. For a better wifi experience, we proposed a Ruckus solution. What is most valuable? It has great features. It also has cloud connectivity. All IPs can be managed and monitored by the customer from a single console. They will also manage and share the various regions' IPs and locations all over the world. However, a single console can be monitored and managed from anywhere in the world. What needs improvement? We would like to see a better licensing model for our customers. For how long have I used the solution? We have been providing Ruckus Wireless for a couple of months. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? Ruckus Wireless is scalable. We have three or four clients who currently use Ruckus Wireless. How are customer service and support? Technical support is fine. Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch? We also provide Cisco Catalyst Switches, and Alcatel switches for customers. We are gold partners with Alcatel which is why we work with Alcatel products such as PBX, network switches, and WiFi. How was the initial setup? The installation is straightforward. I can take a week to install. What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? Commercially Ruckus for its features, its pricing is expensive for the customer. Customers go back and forth with the pricing, but we convince them that it is beneficial to include features. Licensing is subscription-based. What other advice do I have? This solution is provided by a team of three engineers at the upper and management levels. I would recommend this solution to others who are interested in using it. I would rateRuckus Wireless an eight out of ten. Which deployment model are you using for this solution? Rated 5 out of 5 by from Reliable Wi-Fi connection improved our organization's remote teaching setup What is our primary use case? My organization is a college, so we just want to make sure we have a reliable Wi-Fi connection for the students. We are using the latest version of Ruckus. It is deployed on-premise. Right now, there are over 2,000 people using this solution. How has it helped my organization? We were in a bad shape, especially with remote teaching and things like that, so now everything's all right because of the reliability of Ruckus. What is most valuable? The most valuable feature is that this solution is reliable. What needs improvement? We use this solution in a certain way, and it works very well. So, I don't expect it to do a lot more, but to do what it's doing probably better or faster. But it's not a problem with the features; it's more the operations. For how long have I used the solution? I've been using this solution for the past 12 months. What do I think about the stability of the solution? The stability is fine. We haven't had any problems. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? We haven't had any issues with the scalability. How are customer service and support? Technical support is good. I would rate it a 4 out of 5. There's still some improvement that could be made. Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch? We have also used Cisco. We switched because of many reasons, but staying with Cisco would have cost us almost double the price. So, we had to change. It's not a question of reliability because Cisco is reliable also. It's more a question of something that's not for corporations and more for education in our case. How was the initial setup? Initial setup was pretty straightforward. On a scale of 1 to 5, I would rate it a 4. Deployment took a week. We require less than 5% of our staff for maintenance of this solution to be hassle-free. What about the implementation team? We used an integrator for deployment. What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? I would rate their pricing 3 out of 5. There is no annual licensing cost. What other advice do I have? I would rate this solution 9 out of 10. It's very good for our needs, but because it's a school, it maybe wouldn't be as good for a corporation or for other users. For our school, it's very reliable. We have peaks, but it's always well-managed. We don't have any problems. Which deployment model are you using for this solution? Rated 5 out of 5 by from A familiar brand that is reliable and I haven't experienced any problems with it What is our primary use case? We have an internal network in the house that we use it for. It all has access points all over. What is most valuable? I am familiar with the brand and it works well. What needs improvement? The price could be improved. For how long have I used the solution? I have used the high-end version of Ruckus in my house and we will be using it in my building. We have an outside company to help us with this. I have been using it in my house for two or three months. We are using the latest version. What do I think about the stability of the solution? I have not had any issues with the stability of Ruckus Wireless. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? There are six of us in my house that use this solution and we also have an outside guest house that has access. How are customer service and technical support? I have not contacted technical support. How was the initial setup? I did not install this solution, we had outside help. What about the implementation team? We had an outside company install this solution. They oversee the network in my home. What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? The price is on the higher end. It's quite expensive, but that is what you get with these types of solutions. When you are dealing with Cisco or Ruckus, it's going to be a higher price. What other advice do I have? It's been good so far and I have not experienced any problems. I would rate Ruckus Wireless a nine out of ten. Which deployment model are you using for this solution? Rated 5 out of 5 by from Analytics is the most valuable feature from my perspective What is most valuable? I'm not on the technical side, so I personally haven't configured Ruckus Wireless. We've got some staff that manages that for us. But if I had to say a most valuable feature from my perspective, it would maybe be Ruckus Analytics. What needs improvement? Ruckus Wireless already has mesh networking, so that's a good thing. An access point mesh would be interesting. It would be good to see how stable the WiFi 6 mesh compares to cabling. Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch? I never used another high-level enterprise access point. Ruckus is my first one. We have had some engagements with Aruba, but not on the same level that we're engaging with Ruckus. How was the initial setup? Setting up Ruckus Wireless is probably quite intuitive. I haven't set it up myself, but it looks forgiving from what I've seen. What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? In the last year, there's been a significant price jump, but I think Ruckus Wireless is still a good value for the money. You're getting quality products at a reasonable price. What other advice do I have? I rate Ruckus Wireless eight out of 10. Overall, we are very satisfied with Ruckus support and hardware. Which deployment model are you using for this solution? Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good pricing, excellent connectivity, and an easy setup What is our primary use case? We primarily use the solution for wireless access points. How has it helped my organization? It has improved our organization compared to what we were using earlier. We have the ability for maximum users, greater connectivity to the bandwidth, what we can get across, and the overall power of the device has improved in terms of the number of connections and also the distance it covers. We get more device strength with Ruckus. What is most valuable? Floor-to-floor and room-to-room movement are great. Everything is seamless. The device offers good connectivity. We had a lot of issues with earlier access points, and now we are not hearing those complaints anymore from end users. There is now consistent performance from the device. The stability is good. It is easy to set up. It's very scalable. The pricing is reasonable. What needs improvement? The delivery time of the hardware needs to be improved. Right now, we have to wait more than 12 weeks in India. The expected arrival dates keep getting postponed, and we don't have any idea as to why. For how long have I used the solution? We've been using the solution for almost four months now. What do I think about the stability of the solution? The solution is stable and reliable. There are no bugs or glitches, and the connectivity is seamless. I'd rate the stability eight out of ten. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? This is a highly scalable solution. I'd rate it nine out of ten in terms of the ability to expand. right now, we have about 350 users, and we are at 60% capacity. We're not sure if we will increase usage. We'll have to do a heat map and see if it is necessary for the future. How are customer service and support? We've never had to reach out to technical support. We've never had any issues with the product. How was the initial setup? The initial setup is very simple. I'd rate the process nine out of ten in terms of simplicity. It hardly takes ten to 15 minutes to set everything up. Booting only takes 30 seconds. It's the configuration that may take ten minutes. We only need one person to handle the deployment. One is enough for any size of deployment. What about the implementation team? Deployment we do with the vendor only. Any further maintenance we do on our own. What was our ROI? There is an ROI in the sense that there is a general improvement in the quality in terms of connected devices. There are no drops in packages, and the wireless is seamless. What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? The pricing is okay. I'd rate it at a seven out of ten. Which other solutions did I evaluate? We have tried many products and ultimately decided on Ruckus. We looked at Cisco, Meraki, and Aruba. What other advice do I have? We have a vendor partnership. This is a hardware solution based on-premises. I'd recommend the solution to other users. I'd rate the solution nine out of ten. Which deployment model are you using for this solution? Rated 5 out of 5 by from User-friendly, good signal strength, and easy to set up What is our primary use case? The solution is used for wireless connectivity. It's excellent for internet access. How has it helped my organization? It works well in company or hotel environments to provide WiFi. What is most valuable? Clients have had an excellent experience overall. The management is very good. It provides a very good signal strength. Stability has been very good. It is reliable. It has been issue-free overall. The technology is very good. Wherever we have deployed it, we have found it satisfactory. The interface is user-friendly. The solution scales well. Technical support is excellent. We've never had issues with importing or exporting data. What needs improvement? The technology itself is good. They are always improving their technology and cloud environment. They are mostly ahead of the competition. As long as they keep updating, we will be happy. There are no new features needed. You do need to pay extra for support after one year. There's only a small amount of backup available. However, we do not need any more storage for backups. When firmware updates, you have to download and update. If the system could directly download and update, that would be much easier. It could be more automated. To update firmware, a partner account is required, and there are very few of us in the market in our region who can help the customer. Without the upgrade, there may not be recognition of access points. If you are behind a few versions, you need to download each old version until you get to the latest. For how long have I used the solution? I've used the solution for many years. I've likely used it for more than ten years. What do I think about the stability of the solution? The solution is stable and reliable. There are no bugs or glitches, and it doesn't crash or freeze. There are no latency or performance issues. I'd rate the stability ten out of ten. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? I'd rate the scalability ten out of ten. We are using the solution at full capacity. At different sites, there are different numbers of users. This is sued at hotels or companies. One access point can support up to 300 users. You just add a device if you need more users. We haven't had issues with latency or network congestion. Our clients are small and medium-sized businesses. How are customer service and support? Technical support is good. You can buy extra support. Initially, when you buy it, you have support, and after one year, it will expire. You may not need to buy more support as you can get information online if you need to troubleshoot. How would you rate customer service and support? Positive Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch? I've also worked with Cisco solutions. Cisco is more expensive, and there is less performance. Ruckus offers better quality. How was the initial setup? The initial setup is very easy. I'd rate the ease of setup ten out of ten. The setup process is the best. It was quick to deploy. The deployment process itself was very short. We imported the IP and licenses. Then we just did the cabling, connected, and configured everything. What about the implementation team? We can help our customers implement the solution. What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? The pricing is moderate. It's not as cheap as a few other options; however, compared to the performance you get, it's excellent. I'd rate the value of pricing ten out of ten. In terms of if it is high or low, I'd rate it five out of ten as it's moderate. It's better than Cisco in terms of pricing. Cisco gives you less performance and integration and costs more. The license is perpetual. You may need to pay for extra support after a year. However, you do not have to renew the general license. You pay for everything at once in the beginning. What other advice do I have? We are partners. We handle installations for customers. I am working with various versions of the solution at this time. I'd advise others to use Ruckus. It is a great product. I would rate it ten out of ten. Which deployment model are you using for this solution? Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to set up with good reliability and responsive technical support What is our primary use case? We are an integrator; our function is to sell Ruckus solutions to our clients and to implement the solution for them. It's a good solution for wireless WiFi connectivity. What is most valuable? Our clients are in the hospitality industry and it's been very good at meeting their needs. The WiFi connections are good. In general, all implementations are standard and pretty straightforward. These implementations typically cover the connection to the corporate network integrated with Microsoft's Active Directory and other services that bring network access to the clients so that it's easy to get onto the internet. The stability has been good. We find the solution to be scalable. Technical support is responsive and knowledgeable. What needs improvement? The solution could include more security features. For example, with other solutions, there is a security feature added to connect to the internet. In the case of Ruckus, they don't have any security solution to connect to the internet. Clients want more security, which is why it's important Ruckus begins to think of ways to offer more robust connection options that will help customers feel safer. For how long have I used the solution? Just two weeks ago I implemented a Ruckus Wireless solution for our client. I deal with it regularly. In general, I have about three years of experience with the solution. What do I think about the stability of the solution? The stability is great. It's reliable and the performance is good. There are no bugs or glitches. It doesn't crash or freeze. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? The solution has scaled well. A customer shouldn't have any issues expanding the product. How are customer service and support? Technical support has been very good. In any situation where I have had to reach out, they have been quick to respond and my issues were resolved in a timely manner. We are quite satisfied with their level of attention and knowledge. How was the initial setup? The initial implementations have been standard and straightforward. It's not overly complex or difficult. What about the implementation team? As integrators, we are able to assist our clients in the initial setup process. What other advice do I have? We are integrator of Ruckus. We offer Ruckus solutions to our clients. I'm not sure of the exact version number I last installed, however, it was the latest solution that covers smartphones. It had the wireless controller of Ruckus and different equipment covering WiFi 5 and WiFi 6. I would recommend this solution to others. I'd give it a rating of nine out of ten. Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Beamforming and BeamFlex technology provide good connectivity What is most valuable? The most valuable feature of Ruckus Wireless is the Beamforming feature. The solution's BeamFlex technology provides good connectivity. There are various models that can be used for high-density environments. If you select a product good for high-density environments, it can scale up to 400 to 500 users. If you have a controller for Ruckus Wireless, it is better for manageability. What needs improvement? The solution's pricing could be cheaper. For how long have I used the solution? I have been using Ruckus Wireless for eight to ten years. What do I think about the stability of the solution? Ruckus Wireless is a very stable product. The device's connectivity will also be stable if your power is stable. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? You can scale the solution up to your controller capability. Ruckus Wireless has a license-based controller, and you can scale up to several devices based on the license you get. More than 250 users are using the solution in our organization. The solution's scalability depends on how you engineer your area. How are customer service and support? The solution's technical support is good. The technical support team helps replace faulty devices. The solution's service engineers are technically sound and good. Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch? I am also using Tanium, which is also a very good product. I chose to use Ruckus Wireless because I wanted to separate my production environment from the office environment so that nobody could disturb the production environment. How was the initial setup? It is easy to deploy the solution by referring to the document. What about the implementation team? I deployed the solution by myself and used my colleague's help for the physical installation. The solution's deployment is easy. I first cleared the controller side and then configured the access point. What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? Ruckus Wireless is an expensive solution. Ruckus Wireless has a one-time licensing, and you have to renew the controller license. If you want more technical support, you also have to take license support for access points. What other advice do I have? Managing Ruckus Wireless is very easy. I get the access list for my device, and my selected device users can only connect with my Wi-Fi network. If you have the budget, you should choose Ruckus Wireless. If we have a support license, the device will be replaced if there is a hardware failure. That is the main thing for any technical person because nobody can start his own network if the hardware fails. Overall, I rate the solution a nine out of ten.
