I am giving it a 3 star because the noise cancellation feature was minimal while I was sitting on an 20 hour flight next to 2 people that were very chatty. I bought these for travel and to reduce hearing the people on the plane. I had to raise the volume beyond my comfort to sleep

I've been looking for over the ear headphones for the times when not using earbuds because I don't love the feeling of something stuck in my ears. These QC45 are a good option - comfortable, excellent sound quality and wireless.

My wife and I bought these for a long flight to Hawaii, as we wanted to make sure we had a good experience without too much outside noise disturbing us.
We previously had AirPods Max, but sold them as the aluminum ear housings didn’t allow your ears to breathe at all and were not comfortable to wear long term because of the heat they trapped in. A northern winter, the AirPods would be perfect as they could double as earmuffs, living in the south, not so much.
So, the first thing I noticed was that Bose nailed the “Comfort” part of this design. The breathable plastic with soft memory foam ear cushions really made it easy to wear these for long periods of time without any real discomfort.
Now, with Bose, they have a unique sound and even if you don’t like their sound, you likely wouldn’t describe it as one dimensional or even the close to the worst you’ve ever heard. The QC 45s just aren’t quite up to the QC 35s that I had the pleasure of trying in the past. Is the sound decent? Yeah it is, but the ambience just doesn’t have as much room for individual elements to breathe with these, and they’re just not up to the standard I have come to expect for Bose. Are they horrible? No I wouldn’t say that, their sound is just more flat than I’m used to and you will want to use an EQ to tune them for sure.
As for noise cancelling, it is okay but it isn’t near the AirPods Max or Sony’s best in terms of NC. With these I can still hear people when they’re not playing anything and if the volume is fairly low, loud noises will get through. It isn’t a huge issue if you have the volume at mid or high levels, as it does an adequate job here.
With comparison to the AirPods Max, the AirPods delivered a richer, fuller sound, the best spatial audio on the market, and very close to the best noise cancelling on the market. However, those are anywhere from $130 to $200 more depending on he sales going on.
Now would I recommend these? Yes, if you can’t find the Bose QC 35s I would say these are decent. Would I recommend these over a the AirPods Max and Sony’s best? Yes, because I honestly believe that you’re less likely to use a headset if the comfort isn’t a high a priority with the manufacture and make no mistake about it, the Bose QC line are the top dogs for comfort.

Good Mic and I like the look. Def not worth the price though. It disconnects at short distances and the sound quality is average at best. Wish I would have went with a similar less pricey option.
