Enjoy reliable connectivity and conversions within your network using the Black Box® Adapter. It features a DB9 female connector that acts as an RS-232 connector and an RJ-11 female right connector or an RS485 connector. This DB9 connector houses nine contact points to enhance data flow. The female interface works well with personal computers and servers. Featuring a D-shaped shield, this DB9 connector has mechanical support that facilitates correct orientation. The shield also helps screen against electromagnetic power interference for steady communication. Since it has a denser arrangement, this DB9 port links to dense data communication for reliable signal conversions via the adapter.
This adapter comes with an alternate RJ-11 jack that contains a six-position, two-conductor connector (6P2C) for linkage with data and voice equipment. The RJ-11 female port has a standard profile that accepts matching modular connectors plug for a secure fit. Adapt asynchronous RS232 to RS485 at 1115.2 kbps speeds up to 4,000-foot distance over CATx cables using this adapter. With a built-in silicon avalanche diode, it safeguards against data loss and equipment damage from short-lived surges. It's customizable to allow the user to fine-tune echo and impedance characteristics to match network requirements. Configure the RS232 serial adapter using its two internal four-position, dual in-package (DIP) switches for optimal performance.
