The female interface works well with personal computers and servers. Featuring a D-shaped shield, this DB9 connector has mechanical support that facilitates correct orientation. The shield also helps screen against electromagnetic power interference for steady communication. This adapter comes with an alternate RJ-11 jack that contains a six-position, two-conductor connector (6P2C) for linkage with data and voice equipment.
