Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Add-On for Newer MacBook Pro This can be a necessary add-on for a newer MacBook Pro which does not have an integrated RJ45 Ethernet port for wired network connections, for those rare times today when neither a wireless or tethered connection isn't available. And yes, it is USB-C, so it will work on the new MacBook Pro without an additional dongle. It gets the job done.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worked as expected on MacBook Pro 2016. Worked as expected on my new laptop that has USB-C. Unfortunartely it does not have a wired network connection. The Belkin USB-C to Gigabit Network Adapter - USB 3.1 Gen 1 (5 Gbps) solved all my ethernet problems. If you need a single use devices, this is it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful adapter These little guys are amazing. When using with the new MacBook Pro's that only have USB-C ports, this saves so much trouble having having multiple adapters to plug into ethernet. I wish they came in white to match the rest of the Apple adapters, but thats would just be nice, not anything that keeps me from ordering them for my office. They work great and are built to a nice degree of quality. I would highly recommend these as a ethernet solution.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It works... I bought it for my 15" MacBook Pro w/Touch Bar. It works, plug and play, and tested my internet connection and I get what I pay for with my ISP (100 Mbps). However, I don't have any testing utility in this computer to test for gigabit speed within my network, but for now I will assume it is working at gigabit speeds since I haven't encountered any problems. The dongle itself does get a bit warm which I am guessing is normal due to size.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Constant kernel panics on MacOS Sierra While this product does perform well when working, it is marred by the presence of continual (weekly) kernel panics, forced shutdowns and temporary internet slowdowns on MacOS Sierra, especially when connected to a USB-C hub or the LG 4K 21.5" displays. This has made this adapter very difficult to live with. Apple has confirmed that this is a driver problem with Belkin's drivers (even the latest Nov '16 ones), and not with MacOS, and therefore I recommend staying away from this product until the drivers are updated to prevent this. It is a widespread issue which can be found on message boards, etc. and is completely unacceptable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Add an Ethernet connection to a Chromebook Easiest way to add an Ethernet connection to a Chromebook (or some of the newer Macs). I like to ensure a stable connection so I prefer a hardwire to my router. This dongle meets that need perfectly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Terrible First Belkin product I ever purchased, and definitely the last. Does not work at all.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Trouble-free speed boost I bought this adapter to connect my laptop to the network via hardwire ethernet, instead of WiFi. It connected to the router with no problem, and file transfer speed is about 3x that over WiFi. Recommended!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works as expected, another good Belkin product. No problems using with my new Mac. It might be nice to have a 90 degree connector as this one sticks way out to the side of the computer making it difficult to put anything beside your laptop.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to use, great connection! This has been a very useful tool to have in my electronics arsenal. Being able to connect my electronics directly to ethernet has provided a more stable connection that is crucial for some of my meetings. I also appreciate that it is small and portable, making it very easy to keep on hand. I also have a variety of items by Belkin brand, and trust the reliability of their products.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Go Faster Works great with my Macbook. Super easy just plug it in. Great for getting the internet speeds I am paying for on my laptop that has no ethernet port. Was able to download games from steam twice as fast and no issues during online gaming. No problems or dropped connections.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fast and reliable! In today's world, accessories need to be small, reliable, and faster than ever. Belkin's USB-C to Gigabit Ethernet Adapter is all three. Measuring in at just over 5 inches long, this adapter will not take up too much space in your laptop bag or briefcase. Connecting it to your laptop or PC is easy with the USB-C connection. No more fooling around with which way the adapter goes into the port. Attach a standard cat5 network cable to the other end of the adapter and voila, you have a gigabit hard wired network connection for your device. Just remember that in order to get those lighting fast gigabit speeds, you need to make sure the other end of the cat5 is plugged into a gigabit port on your router. Belkin definitely hit a home run with the USB-C to gigabit adapter. It is a definite ten in my book!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Strong Connection One of my laptops does not have an ethernet port and is strictly wifi. There are several USB C ports on it. I got this little device and am amazed at how well it works. Who would have ever thought the internet through the USB would work? I get speeds much faster than the wifi connection just like on my desktop. It really is handy when I need more bandwidth. It's so tiny it doesn't take up any space on my desk and I can just throw it in the laptop bag for safekeeping. It's very well made and looks like I'll be getting much use out of it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect For MacBook I had been looking for a faster connection for my MacBook since wifi is always slower than my Ethernet connection. This little gem works flawlessly! I’m now getting around 850-920MBs upload and download speeds compared to the 200-400MBs over wifi. Excellent product and 100% recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works Great! Extremely easy to connect as it's USB-C and can be connected either upside down or upside right to the computer. The network connection shows gigabit and with speedtests run through it, it shows up to gigabit speeds (minus overhead). Very happy with this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great little USB-C ethernet adapter! I travel a lot for business, and quite often find myself needing to use an ethernet connection for my macbook. I usually use a dock that has multiple ports of different types including an ethernet adapter, but I prefer this one when all I need is ethernet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Makes a huge difference in download speeds My new laptop is very slim and as part of design there is no Ethernet port. So I was using WiFi for internet connectivity. I have the Comcast 1GBps connectivity plan for my work, but due to connecting via WiFi never got speeds greater than 200 Mbps. This USB-C to Ethernet adapter solved my issues. See attached photo of speedtest results - As soon as I connected using Ethernet port, I got speeds close to 900 Mbps. Build quality also looks solid. Great product from Belkin.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A great backup network connector I work in IT for a hospital, and sometimes (many times after hours) I get called to work on network servers. At times there are no open ethernet connections, and its not a good idea to unplug connections in a hospital environment. With this small gigabit-to-USB-C adapter I don't have to worry about finding an ethernet connection. It fits right in with with my patch cables and other assorted network connectors. It's a great addition.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Incredibly slow speeds (slower than WiFi!) This adapter did work, but it was incredibly slow: a third of the speed I get from a wireless (WiFi) connection, rendering the adapter useless. I verified this with various speed tests, and the results were consistently bad. (the ethernet cable I use works great when plugged directly in my desktop computer, so this is 100% the adapter's fault)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great!! I got this Belkin type C to ethernet because my new laptop doesn’t have an ethernet port. It is plug and play and worked immediately. It has great speeds and works great for what I need. I do wish it had a status light and a type c port on it because I lose the only type c port my laptop has using this port.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worked Well. My only concern was the length. Other than that, it worked well with my apple laptop. I was able to connect to my internal router. When not using the router, connecting to my switch also worked very well. Overall, a good product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice product I've been looking for a way to use my tablet on ethernet since my wifi isn't always reliable. I was able to connect my Android tablet to ethernet using this device and now I have download speeds reaching almost 800 Mbps. The build quality of this adapter seems very good. It's not flimsy and the cable seems strong. I like that it's black because it blends in with my other cables. I also tried it on my phone and it worked. A very versatile product that will come in handy quite a bit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Plug and play - easy! I got a new MacBook Pro, which only has USB-C connections available, so I was happy to get this USB-C to Ethernet adapter. With previous ones that I've used, I've had to install software in order for it to be usable, but this one was just straight plug and play. Plug into USB-C port, plug in ethernet cable, and viola. I was connected, with no wait time. I did a speed test and got 346.4 Mbps download / 9.61 Mbps upload connected via ethernet vs 52.1 Mbps download / 8.18 Mbps upload connected via WiFi. I like that you can just plug and unplug without having to "disconnect" or "eject" it via software first. Love it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great This adapter works perfectly for getting high-speed ethernet for any computer. I have plugged the USB-C directly into my Mac and it works just as well as when I plug it into another multi-adapter for my Mac. It is super easy to use and I have had no issues. The plastic is not super sturdy but as long as you do not drop heavy things or get mad and smash it against your table, there should not be any issues with durability.
