I am disappointed that this doesn’t plug in and charge my device while I’m using it. I’m also disappointed that the 3 AA batteries that are required are not included. Now for the positives. I love this mount to use for FaceTime and Zoom. It didn’t track my face but it was perfect for holding my somewhat heavy iPhone 12 plus steady and I place my phone on it even when I’m not making content or utilizing it for zoom calls or FaceTime. For those that are making lots of content for things like tic toc or videos for YouTube or Facebook this is an excellent product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Interesting product I was pleasantly surprised by the functionality of the app for the various broadcasting platforms and the ability to simply save the videos directly to your camera roll for later editing and upload. I found this product to be more interesting than useful. Yes it does face tracking as long as there's only one face, can't lock the face of interest. With the phone in vertical mode the tracking is far too slow to keep up in almost every case, tracking improves significantly with the in the widescreen horizontal position though not enough to compensate for the slow rotation speed. Overall, it's decent and the slow rotation speed can be worked around or through.

Mag-Safe mount works great at holding the iPhone and the way it oscillates and follows you as you move around is impressive, making sure your the center focus. I love this accessory, only wish or change is that we would also like it if it worked with FaceTime app!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great concept I received this a couple weeks ago. After the initial unboxing, I realized that there are no batteries included with the unit. For the price tag, that should definitely be included. The batteries were somewhat difficult to install for AA. The magnet that holds the phone in place is very strong. Setup was very fast and easy, so I was able to get right in and play. the first thing you MUST know; you HAVE to use the companion app in conjunction with the mount. This was running in the background, but it’s a must know. Allows for adjustment vertically, but must do manually. Camera tracking is very slow to respond. Works great at a slow pace, but lags significantly when moving at a faster pace. There is no multiuser option available. If anything at all gets in the way of your tracking, it will stop moving. Uploading to social media seems basic enough. You can use the camera feature to save videos to the device. The concept is great, the design is appealing and the software is easy. If there are some future changes of minor details, this will be a must have device for hands free use. Also, batteries are a must out of the gate.

It was very easy to set up the app using the scan QR code provided. Had no problem downloading the app, setting up Bluetooth pairing was relatively easy, and using the app was quick and simple. Phone stayed on securely and the tracking was smooth. Using batteries instead of having to be plugged in makes it great to use anywhere. Whether talking on FaceTime or recording a blog or livestream it was perfect. No more needing someone to record for you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A great concept, but needs more development. I am a big fan of Belkin, which is why I was surprised with the underwhelming initial experience of this tracking device. First off, the build quality is excellent, as you would expect from this brand. Setup is fairly easy, but once you have the app and start using it, you immediately see it’s flaws. Yes, it does if fact track your face on an x-axis, but slowly. When I say slowly, I mean really slow. It will not track you at all on a y-axis. This device simply is not fast or accurate enough to use in real life scenarios. This device should also have a built-in Lithium Ion battery instead of requiring AA’s. I love the concept of this device and hope a future version addresses these issues.

I find it makes handsfree recording and streaming super easy, as normally I hold my phone the whole time. This added a nice polish to my clips and calls, and the apps is super easy. Just a simple screen to pick your ideal recording or streaming app, then it is ready to track! Great simple tool. I use iPhone 12 Pro Max, for reference.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works just as expected The device uses 3 AA batteries. It does not have an option to plug in and use. Nevertheless the product is very mobile because it requires no plug. It also conveniently has a mounting option for a tripod if you want more options than to set on a countertop. Which is also an option. The software is simple to use. Easy to pair up via Bluetooth. It works just as expected. Only a single user at a time. It is currently not capable of recognizing and following multiple people in the same shot. With a single user it is flawless and intuitive.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Must If You Post Videos The Belkin Magnetic Tracking Mount can be used with any iPhone 12. It’s a phone mount that can capture videos and pictures by tracking your face. It will track your face and rotate up to 360 degrees or in a steady mode around an area in either landscape or portrait modes, can tilt vertically and will work if your phone is in a MagSafe case without the help from anyone else. Since it runs on three AAA batteries (not included), it is portable inside or outside without the availability of any other power source, and can conveniently be mounted on a tripod. Using the included instruction booklet the set up is straightforward and simple. Downloading the app., pairing and connecting to the tracking mount only takes a few minutes. If your into social media and post videos and pictures on TikTok, Instagram, Snapchat YouTube or Twitter, this is a fantastic and useful must have device that I would highly recommend. However, it doesn’t work with video calls when using FaceTime or Zoom. At only $64.99, it is reasonable priced, and I highly recommend it.

The design is minimalist, I like the matte white base. The mag safe mount holds your phone in place securely. This device runs on 3 AA batteries, it would be nice if it was able to hold a charge via USB as an extra option. Downloaded the app but I never got to use it due to bluetooth pairing issues. I’m pretty adept at connecting via bluetooth, this might just be a defective device that I received. These things happen, I am still a fan of Belkin products.

Pros: solid construction, great face tracking, great solution if you are recording videos to post online. Cons: Doesn’t work with FaceTime or Zoom, provided app is a little confusing to set up, doesn’t charge your phone while using. This would be a 5 star product if Apple gave Belkin access to FaceTime.

Once I figured out that the finger on the manual was not pointing, but actually pressing the button, and managed to get the function to go from standby to “tracking”, the mount worked really well! I used my camera to test it, and again, once I figured out that the app runs in the background (the red icon did not display while using the camera), everything went smoothly! Similarly to the magnetic charging station, unless your phone case is compatible, you need to remove it for the magnet to work. The magnet itself is pretty strong, and the phone is pretty securely mounted. The base has some weight to it, and it is steady. Had a small difficulty installing the batteries. Not sure how long they will last; personally I’d rather the device was powered through USB and rechargeable. This is the only reason for the four stars. I t would be also nice if the manual was a little more detailed, for us dummies, but after figuring things out, the product works as it should! Overall, a great product that keeps your hands free and makes things easier during video calls!

I had heard about very expensive video recorder devices that follow you through the scene, but I never imagined that a simple and affordable device would make my phone camera follow me as I record my videos! Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for video calls with family and friends This is one of the more useful products that can follow you while using your video app. It helps when you’re trying to do other things but you want the camera to follow you if you’re talking to someone via video. At first I had a slight problem installing the app but then got it working. One thing I might suggest is a rechargeable battery inside the device so you could just recharge it via USB-C cable. I did have to remove my case though for the magnet to firmly adhere to the product. With my case removed the phone firmly adheres to the device and you can turn it very easily from landscape to portrait mode. If you’d like to make videos where you’re moving around and you don’t have a cameraman this device is extremely helpful. 4/5 stars

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Idea In the age of posting bite-sized dancing, "challenges", and trendy clips online, this mount is certainly a very good idea. When I first tested its ability to track my face, I was pretty surprised at its capability to accurately follow me around. Within the mount's proprietary tracking app are a handful of apps that you tap on before setting it up to track you (Camera, Instagram, etc.). I feel that it was able to track me well but I'll get back to that in a second. It really helps that the mount elevates the phone a bit to get those better angles while filming yourself. One other area I could really see this mount excelling in would be self-cooking videos where the subject is constantly moving around a kitchen. Some downsides I saw to this mount starts with its speed. It can definitely track you but at its own pace, and so if you move to one side of the frame or the other too quickly, it'll lose you and just stop at whatever position it was last at. I can see this being intentional so that it doesn't cause the viewers to become dizzy or make for the mount to become unstable and toppling over. One last gripe I have is the process of getting the mount ready to track you. Choosing the app to track you on and then having to go and open the app/allow the tracking itself seems a bit cumbersome. Maybe a solution would be to open the app of choice for tracking automatically upon tapping on it in the mount's proprietary app. Overall, I really think this mount will serve a lot of people well and can definitely see its intended audience.

I would have liked it more if it could be used on other applications such as for FaceTime or video chats. over all it does what it’s meant to do. While on YouTube or Instagram. Phone follows your face for motion. Does need to be at face level. Person should be sitting down or have the mount high enough for product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product Unboxing: Nice packaging. Item well protected and easy to remove from the packing material. Setup: Reviewed the setup instructions which were simple with good illustrations. After twisting open the bottom compartment cover, I saw 3 AAA batteries were required. I found it very difficult to snap the batteries in place. It almost seemed as if the battery cradles were slightly too small to accommodate each battery. However, after applying significant force, I was able to snap the batteries into place. Perhaps a bit more separation of the distance between connectors in the compartment would allow for easier placement. Software Setup: The next step was to scan the QR code to download the Belkin Mount Application. The QR code was easy to find both in the instructions and on the bottom of the device. After loading on my iPhone, I was successfully able to launch the app. I happen to be running a Beta version of iOS 15 on an iPhone 12 Pro Max and had no problem with the application function. I placed my phone on the unit and felt the magnet disc was strong and held the phone securely. The hold was stable regardless of how I rotated the phone in place. Pairing & Recording: Next, I was able to successfully pair my phone to the device after placing it in Bluetooth discovery mode. I launched the app and selected the Camera application to record and test head tracking. I selected to use the front camera to record, and then saw the “Tips” window instructing me to open the phone’s camera after tapping “Start Broadcast” I tapped “Start Broadcast” and for some reason expected the camera app to launch on its own. However, I soon realized the need to exit the Belkin Mount software and switch to my camera and begin video recording. I almost forgot to tap the button on the device base to switch from standby to tracking mode. Once I got past the setup, the device tracked smoothly with only a slight delay. The delay following my face required me to move more slowly than I might otherwise do naturally, but overall, it worked very well. Once I was done recording, I could see the video in my Photos and the test was complete. Suggestions: Overall, great product that performs as expected. A few suggestions: • Lengthen the battery compartments a 1 or 2 mm • See if there might be a way to automatically launch the camera when the "Start Broadcast" item is tapped so you don’t have to manually exit the app • Consider adding a Tip to make sure tracking mode is selected when ready to record or better yet, consider placing a tracking indicator on the screen allowing the user to see if tracking is on or off • Add some language to the instructions indicating the need to press and hold the button on the base of the unit to shut down the unit once finishing use

But otherwise there were no issues on installation. It does have a fantastic follow me function. That seems to work perfectly. However, The program does not interface with zoom or iPhone video apps. That is a disappointment. That is where I wanted to use it. If you want to record things and walk while you talk, then this is the device for you

It uses 3AA batteries and you have to download an app to pair with the device. It doesn’t just connect via Bluetooth. Other than that it works great and highly recommend (:

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good product for social media influencers When the product arrived with its single LED and button, I half expected a complicated process to get it working with my phone. To my surprise, connecting my phone with the face tracking software was as easy as 1, 2, 3 or in this case, just 2 seconds holding down the button while the app was open. The product has nice clean lines and a solid build quality. One thing to be aware, it requires 3 AA batteries but they aren't included. Perhaps a future model will be chargeable using USB but for now, 3 AA batteries is that complicated. The app itself is pretty straight forward once you've paired the device, select your social app of choice or phone camera app, start the broadcast and a way you go. You do need to click through and switch apps which can be a little annoying but once you've got the hang of it, you'll be golden. Overall the software tracks your face position pretty well even when moving quickly. I had hoped to also use it with video conferencing software in addition to social media apps but I don't think the support is there yet. Maybe a future feature request? :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product! Missing ONE Feature I was able to try out the Belkin Phone Mount w/ Face Tracking and overall, I was pretty impressed! It’s compatible with all the major social networking apps and the stock camera app on your iPhone! It is MagSafe compatible so it perfect for iPhone 12! Phone sticks right into the Mount and once you set it up, the Mount will automatically track your face from side to size and move horizontally, not vertically. You download the Belkin app. Then pair Mount on by holding button to pair, once paired, you can just turn the Mount on when you want to use it. Then in the app, you choose which app you are going to use it with, then you click “start broadcast”, then you swipe home and go to which ever app you chose and press the button on the Mount and boom! It will then track your face side to side. It’s built well, sturdy to hold a phone. Runs on 3 AA batteries and compatible with tripod mounts. The only downside I see is that it does not work with FaceTime. If it worked with FaceTime, it’d be perfect! Maybe they will come with a software update down the road. Overall, very happy and would recommend this to a friend, YouTuber, TikToker, or even a vlogger.
