I use it for Zoom meetings
this was fairly easy to install -download the program to the computer and plug in the free end of the connector to a USB port on the computer. Image quality is good, although it does require a light source on the subject to avoid shadowing.

Camera and microphone are really good. Picture and sound sent via zoom and other video sources great.
The device does not attach well to the top of a monitor without first attaching a small tripod or something with some weight to keep camera in place.

No instructions for a beginner
I guess if you are an expert at webcams then this might be better for you. This came with zero set up instructions and zero support options. You can email Avermedia but they take an day or 2 to get back to you so by the time you get a response you'll have more questions and then have to wait a day or 2 for another response and hope that you don't have another follow up question after that. I gave up and am only using the basic functions and received most of that from youtube.

Good overall, but not the best webcam for video calls
I am using this webcam mainly for video calls. The image color and contrast is good (better than my built-in webcam), but the image is generally a little fuzzy when capturing my face at typical working distance (image becomes notably clearer when I back up a few feet). So probably not an ideal webcam for people who mainly want to use this for video calls/recording their face at close distance. Other pros: easy to attach and use (easily hooks over the top of my screen and seems to be secure). I like that you can easily block and protect the lens with the built-in sliding cover.

A handy little unit
A handy little webcam that takes up no more than 2 x 3". It was recommended by Dell's customer service. I like the fact that the camera can be covered when not in use. The unit that attaches the camera to the monitor doesn't click tightly; rather, it's sitting on top of the edge of the monitor. The two microphones worked nicely right from the start. I was getting horizontal lines through my video when using Zoom. The tech at AVer was quick to send me two links that he thought might help me solve my problem. The tips didn't work. In the end, I uninstalled Zoom and then reinstalled it. That seemed to take care of the issue. With this unit I am able to do telehealth with the doctor and also participate in a class that takes place over Zoom during this period of Covid.

A word to the wise!
I became extremely frustrated with this AverMedia Cam. The Cam video would work and then not work, a VERY FRUSTRATING experience. Technical support at best, is a single general email, with no real assistance. I consider myself a very patient person however, this Cam brought me to the edge of my threshold. You have been warned. On the other hand, CDW has been extremely helpful and I would definitely do business with them again!

I also bought the Logitech c930e which was much better, especially with lower light. Avermedia controls don’t work with Mac computers but the Logitech did. I kept the Logitech. Crystal clear video with my 2019 MacBook Air.

The camera has no way to control the focus or width and depth of the subject. The picture is not as crisp as other cameras I have used, including the one on my Lenovo laptop, it is rated as 1080 p, but the picture is very average in quality.

Needed a firm ware update but works fine now.
The unit did not work right out of the box even though I installed it properly. I emailed Avermedia who was helpful in providing a firmware update which fixed the problem of the mic not working properly. The Dell sales person said it had zoom, but it doesn't. The software it comes with might be good-I don't know. I installed it but wasn't using it for streaming purposes. I will return this unit and get a Logitech unit with a zoom and some more features. Overall not impressed but it now works fine.

The image quality isn’t good and Low lighting is really poor. You need to instal software to adjust anything and if you are using a work laptop this isn’t convenient. I am not happy with the purchase.

Product crashed my computer. (Dell XPS laptop w 16gb ram). Caused the CPU memory to spike and then webcam failed. Read that the Avermedia software downloads help, but only a bit. Still no camera functionality and slowed speeds. Had to uninstall software and unplug webcam to return my computer to normal functionality and returned the camera. Painful. Even if there is a fix, why buy a “plug and play camera “ if you need to go through all the troubleshooting hassle.

Great Webcam with dual mics.
I got two of these when we were in lockdown in 2020. Works well with Zoom, Teams and also Whatsapp desktop App on Windows 10. The wide angle lens means two people can sit far apart. The dual microphones are chrisp and pick up audio from the middle of the room. Also there has never ever been a feedback issue. There are some other gaming features that are interesting, but I do not use them, as I am not a gamer. I did download those drivers to check them out. Install instructions were easy to follow. But since I am not a gamer, Didnt really get into the avatars allowed by the software.

Affordable backup camera
Great back up camera for my laptop. When I am conducting video sessions for my job as a tutor, it really helps to have a camera I can move without moving the whole computer. This one does the job very well. I also like that it has a slide shutter I can close to quickly cut the video feed. I usually use a headset, but the microphone works fine on this camera too.

High qualitycamera
Previously I had been using my iPhone for video calls and found the picture was unclear. Also, I needed to connect to my larger monitor to share screens and found it was using too much bandwidth doing this. By using this new webcam, I'm able to easily connect to video calls and screen share at the same time using various applications. I would recommend.

If the lens could pivot more - I would give it 5 stars. With multiple screens and if you have a flexible standing/sit desk, adjustments can be made by propping with certain items on hand but not a perfect way to do it.

Right out of the box and plugged into a laptop port, existing operating system and applications were able to assimilate the AVerMedia Live Streamer CAM 313 with no issues. Great video and audio quality. Camera is well constructed and designed for flexibility and adjustability for use in a range of configurations (on top of monitor, desk, traditional tripod). Great camera- easy to install- it was plug and play! I also like the slide to cover the lens feature...no worries about "spyware" or accidentally showing yourself on a call in your PJ's with crazy hair!

Truly awesome product in every way. I was using my laptop camera before and it didn't show a very good or clear video of me but this product it is crisp and crystal clear. It is truly plug it into your computer, clip it on top of your monitor and you are good to go. There is a light to let you know it is on. It has a slider to close the camera so you can't be seen and it is adjustable up, down or right and left. Can't say a bad thing about this camera!

Good luck if you don't need support
The unit appears to be well built, but the support side is sadly lacking. I have tried unsuccessfully for over 2 weeks to register the product for warranty purposes with no luck. I have had numerous emails to the support staff requesting software assistance, only to be told the unit isn't in warranty. Today I received an email from Avermedia stating they had a problem with their website. To say the least this has been one of the most frustrating experiences I have had with any purchase. If I had to do it over, I'd have gone with Logitech. Features may not have been equal, but when you can't get the software to do what it is suppose to they are meaningless.

The web camera is Excellent. We have a warranty on our computer with another companu and they install no charge

Very nice HD web cam and easy to setup.
Very nice camera, the software has a lot of features but mainly wanted it for Zoom. It works great and has a beautiful picture.

The camera works fine with ZOOM. There are no instructions that I can find as how to operate the AVer Media RECentral application software that came with the camera or any of the features available. So I do not know how to use the AVer Media camera software with ZOOM if that is even possible.
