So far my impressions of this are good, it reads any blue ray movie I put in this and does it quickly.... and under further inspection, I noticed that the bluray dvd drive is one that fits in a 5.25in slot in a computer case, but put in an external housing. so it's definitely portable.
But one thing that has come to my attention very quickly is how much heat this thing produces inside its little cocoon of a case. With a thermal camera the internal temperatures are almost 145 degrees fahrenheit and any dvd that comes out feels very toasty. I hope this isn't a problem with my device because this is entirely made of plastic and has no heat sink whatsoever and that could degrade its life quick. So I will post an update if anything happens

Awesome external drive
My Asus rog strix scar edition gaming laptop didn't come with a optical drive so I bought this as a replacement and it works awesome super fast and ready to go out of the box I would definitely recommend

Poor for All Product Performance
The products that I bought --External 16X Blu-Ray Writer and Power2G 13 -- have under-performed and represent a total waste of money on my part. In the way of specifics, the follwing points are offered:
* Very little user guidance was provided with the writer.
* Very little direct technical support is provided.
* The Power2Go upgrade from 8 to 13 is price gouging.
* The Power2Go 13 upgrade is not recognized by the system.
* The System Recovery operation locks up the computer.
* It is not clear who should be contacted with problems: ASUS, CyberLink, or Cleverbridge.
To sum up I am very disappointed with this product.

Neat product
Want to use it for photos and video to play back and Blue Ray player. The tray wont open unless shut down and reopen unit.

Excellent Blu-Ray/DVD Writer
I bought this a couple of months ago to add Blu Ray/DVD ability to my computer. There is no room for an internal device, so I bought this external one. Let me say that this drive has exceeded all of my expectations with it's speed and quality. Best thing is that I can use it with both my PC and Mac. I burn a lot of sports DVD's and like to back up my computers also. Highly recommend this burner.

Quick and easy~
Great little external DVD/burner. Bought it originally for using Turbo Tax Pro, it came in handy installing some older Adobe programs.
