SAS 2.0 is designed for much higher speed data transfer than previous available and backward compatibility with SAS 1.0. The 6 Gbps SAS interface supports both 6 Gbps and 3 Gbps SAS/SATA disk drives for data-intensive applications and 6 Gbps or 3 Gbps SATA drives for low-cost bulk storage of reference data. The ARC-1882ix includes 8 ports low profile as well as full height 12/16/24 internal ports with additional 4 external ports models.
