Connect the cable of the Expansion Chassis to the RS-232 serial port of the UPS. APC SmartSlot Triple Chassis System Bus Extender is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 7.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from excellent add on for those datacenter UPS with expansion slots. it can be programmed for either 1 or up to 4 server communications. Of course you have your remote monitoring but also the CLI remote shutdown option comes in handy. These days already build in the modern UPS version.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from All UPSes should be on the network, no matter what. If you don't have this card then you should pick one up. The only downside is the management interface, it's a bit dated.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Every UPS at every site that we manage has the minimum requirement of being network accessible, and as we use APC UPS systems for the most part, these are the cards of choice. The temperature info and the battery info are critical, along with sending traps for going on battery. Keeps us informed of what is happening at our customer sites.Don't buy an APC UPS without one.
