APC Smart-UPS provide backup battery power during power outages and continuously safeguard devices from fluctuating power conditions and surges. With premium protection and simplified management, the 1000VA UPS ensures consistent and reliable connectivity at the most critical moments.


Scalable Battery Runtime for Power Outages

With 8 outlets and a compatibility with external battery packs, this server UPS provides uninterrupted and scalable battery power to connected electronics. Connect up to 5 of the SMX48RMBP2U external battery packs to increase the amount of time the UPS can provide battery power to devices (battery packs sold separately).


Save Time with Easy Monitoring and Management

Use the intuitive LCD interface and PowerChute software to configure settings and monitor usage. A SmartSlot in the back of the UPS offers the option to add a network management card to remotely manage the UPS over the network (network cards sold separately).


Convenient Installation

The SMX1000 converts from a tower or stand-alone UPS to a rack mount UPS, offering flexibility in various installations.


High Efficiency

This 800 watt ups offers an green mode to ensure you are operating at the highest level of efficiency while it’s smart battery management maximizes performance. Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR) adjusts voltages ensuring reliable power while preserving battery life.


Additional Specifications

Predictive battery management provides an estimated date of when battery replacement is recommended.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works like a charm Your sales literature for all of your BackUPS products should tell about the wave form and what computers will tolerate the form such as with your BackUPS RS 1300 and which require the more expensive pure sine wave back-up as this product delivers. One of your very clever techs finally figured out why I was unable to use my Windows 7 Dell Studio computer when the power flickered around here - It crashed every time there was as power fluctuation and went into a power-save mode. With your pure sine wave product, I can pull the plug and it goes on as if nothing had happened - like a charm. Saves me a tremendous amount of time and work. I can now work in bad weather and not lose my product in a fluctuation.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice Unit It works great and has 3 banks of outlets that should be controllable (after the software is written). It's a lot quieter than my old units. The software that came with it does not always work so I can't wait for the new software that is being written. It's heavy enough you can't put it on a table or shelf.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good product. Works very well. I did find the unit physically unstable when used in the "tower" option -- worried about it falling over, as the supplied plastic feet were inadequate. I converted it to the "rack" option, with much better mechanical stability.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Purchase I've had the SMX750 for about a year now, and have enjoyed the product, so I decided to purchase another APC UPS, and this time went with the SMX1000. I am very happy with my purchase. It has all the features I need(and more). I get plenty of runtime from the battery, and I enjoy that it runs at high efficiency when power is stable.

It currently protects a server but with PFC power supplies now apperaring in more computers, a unit such as this that provides a pure sine wave output is a requirement. I do wish however that APC would update their documentation for this product as it is incorrect in that it currently states that you can turn off the display which is no longer correct with the newer units.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from null I just typed in several paragraphs about the unit, and as I was finishing a pop-up appeared to warn me that I was taking too long. It then cleared all of my text. So, rather than try to type it all in once more, I'll just say that I've had problems with this unit. I do not know if it is the individual unit that I have or something systemic. I will be calling Tech Support to try to determine how to stop the unit from failing unexpectedly. Also, why the machine sometimes starts to "click" while in operation.
