Rated 5 out of 5 by from Working well It just protected my PC from several power fluctuations in quick succession and I was able to keep on working without a care. I should have my security camera system plugged into it too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does its job well I have only had it hooked to power for a few days now, but my initial impression is pretty positive thus far. It has a good battery life (I REALLY like the estimated battery life based on the attached load), it is quiet (a different model had a “buzz” that required a replacement under warranty), and it has a great reputation. I will try to send an update after the unit gets some additional time on it. As usual though, no news is good news.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exactly what I expect from APC Another great product from APC. There are plenty of plugs on the back for connecting everything on my desk. This runs my full PC setup for 30 minutes, which is more than enough for the occasional power outage that happen in my neighborhood. APC UPSs are great products!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stops Destruction of My Electronic Equipment I have been using APC UPS PRO equipment for years. We have frequent power outages and brown-outs in my area. Sometimes the power will fail and restart several times in a matter of minutes. If it were not for APC UPS protecting my sensitive electronic equipment, I would have to spend thousands in replacement costs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well built! I love how narrow this unit is. Takes up less space than a lay down flat model. The display is very easy to read and it has plenty of plugins for all my needs. I especially like that it has a USB port in the front if I have to charge my cellphone during a power failure. In fact, since I've had the unit, there has been a power failure and the unit performed perfectly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Neat features I like what I can do with this unit. I can tell exactly how much electricity my equipment is using and how much equipment can be hooked up to the battery; which handles all my computer equipment easily. I can tell when and for how long the electricity has been off and the time on battery. I like how they put the front panel at an angle which makes it easier to see while on the floor as compared to their earlier models(which were flat). I can just look down and see the voltage coming into my house; which is nice since I have had issues with the electric company in the past.. This unit has plenty of back up to do it's basic function which is to keep everythng powered up in an outage and allows you to do a proper shutdown; and you don't have to rush to shutdown like you might with lesser units. It tells you how much time you have left on the battery. Even the modem cable goes through this unit; so I would feel confident my equipment would be safe even with a lightning strike. You can micro manage your electrical use or just plug and play and not worry about outages or spikes

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A great solution for fluctuations in power. This APC is great for a number of reasons. We have older stereo equipment that is highly sensitive to power fluctuations so this really helps by keeping the equipment from being exposed to even minor power spikes which have damaged my equipment in the past. I like that it shows when an event has happened-it helps explain why our stove and microwave clocks are blinking when we wake up! I’m sure this is also really great at extending the life of my computer as a power interruption doesn’t result in my computer abruptly shutting off and restarting. The only thing I wished was better is the run time for equipment-it would be great if a device like this could carry one through extended power outages of a few hours, but it is great that this offers piece of mind in term of better protection for my computer and other valuable electronic devices.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Capacity for a desktop computer, plus peripherals The APC Back-UPS Pro BN1350 has the capacity for a full desktop computing setup, including peripherals. I use mine for a home theater PC, including a 60" monitor, speakers, and an Xbox. Even that load doesn't come close to taxing its 800w capacity. Plus, the battery time is amazing. My home theater can operate for over half an hour in a power failure. Or, if not actually watching, the computer will survive a power failure lasting over an hour. Setting up a Back-UPS Pro is trivial. After connecting the battery, you just plug it in and plug things into it. I also connect mine to a PC USB port. Windows recognizes it immediately, and shows the battery remaining. Windows can also be set to shut down safely, before the battery expires. In addition to being able to protect the coax and Ethernet connection to my HTPC, the BN1350 has plenty of outlets: 6 battery backed up and 4 surge protected. I do wish that the two types of outlets were more clearly marked. A UPS is always in the dark behind something, making it difficult to read the writing. So,when kneeling behind my TV, it would be easier if two types of outlets were distinct, like white battery backed-up outlets and black surge protected outlets. The main functions of the buttons on the front panel are obvious: * A short press of the menu button cycles through the various displays - including estimated battery time remaining. * A long press of the menu button cycles the display from always on to power saving. * A short press of the mute button silences the power fail alarm. * a long press of the mute button completely turns off the power fail alarm. Note: my wife objects to any UPS that cannot be silenced! A really nice feature of the BN1350 are an USB-A and USB-C charging port on the front. I use the USB-A port to charge the wireless keyboard that I use with my HTPC. However, if you are quick to shut down the computer during a power failure, you can save the power to charge your phone if the power is out for a long time! Keep a cord handy and top off your phone as soon as a power failure starts.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome As an exclusive user of APC products I am very pleased with this one, it is ergonomically able to fit into a tight place. I have two desktops, a server, and now have my laptop, surface pro, and 2 I pads and two copiers and 2 fax machines plugged into this one at various times.. Since I use all these units this one fits in the place. I have three other APC units and my life depends on them. The largest one is used by my server. I just replaced the battery in my largest one on the server. I have been a user of APC products since they were first manufactured. I would never compromise my equipment with any other brand.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A beast of a UPS So that I'm up front, I was given this product in exchange for my honest review of it. I'll tell you the end right here at the beginning: This is a pretty good UPS. Of course it's everything a UPS should be in that it's reliable, and protects against surges and dirty power, and seamlessly bridges small power outages. It's from APC, a brand I've used for more than 20 years and feel are the best in the business at UPSs. While I have no way of testing this unit's ability to withstand lightning or protect what's connected to it, I'm confident that it will. So what makes a UPS great when the specs are right on the box? It's always the layout that makes or breaks it. This unit stands vertically with plugs and cord on the back and a status LCD, the buttons, and two USB charge ports on the front. This layout is not conducive to my personal setup but for someone using this at a desk or someone with a home theater with space behind furniture it would be better. There are vents on the sides and top so I'm hesitant to use it in an area that isn't open. The plug is flat and angled which I always consider a huge plus, though the rear panel has some oddities to be sure. The plugs start from the bottom of the unit and move up the sides, one side being with battery and the other without except the top plug on the "without" side which is also battery backed up. The plugs are well spaced but only the bottom plug on either side has the huge spacing for a large power brick. It's odd that there's more space between that plug and the next one than there is between other side and the floor. You'd think you'd want your "brick plugs" to be at the top where you could give it the most room possible by leaving the adjacent plug empty if necessary but in this design you'll have to raise the entire UPS or use an extension cord if you have a very large brick. The plugs also face out, meaning that angled plugs and bricks stick outward from the sides of the unit rather than inward toward each other. I understand why one might like this choice but I can't help but think there sure are a lot of compromises being made so that this can be vertical instead of horizontal like most UPSs. Also on the back are an in/out for GigE, I/O for cable, a data port, and the circuit breaker button which is between the rows of plugs. While most of those are at the edges of the device, the location of the circuit breaker button is not easy to get to blindly but I expect that's by design because you shouldn't be needing to hit that often. The front of the device is okay. The screen is bright and blue like those old Sony VFDs so you won't want this in a dark room though it does turn itself off eventually. The display is fine, it tells you what you probably want to know in a somewhat glanceable way. You can see if it's on battery or not, the load as a graph, the amount of battery left, and your choice for what the number shows you (volts, hertz, time remaining, events, load%, or load as watts). I'm not complaining about having a display like this that obviates the need for software, but it's not really good looking. I definitely love that there's a beeper button on the front to silence it or disable it. In the center of the front panel are two USB charging ports which I guess are nice to have but feel like they're just there to add a point to the spec sheet given that this thing's going to live on a floor under a desk. I have no complaints about the unit and would recommend it to anyone seeking something like it. The fact that it can be monitored without software makes it nice for a home theater provided you have spot to put it and if you're sticking it under a desk to protect a monster gaming PC it's hard to imagine doing better. Personally I have no use case where this fits, but I intend to give it to my parents who do, so I guess if it's good enough for my mom I'd say it's good enough for everyone else!
