Bigger, better, cheaper than a new battery
I needed a new battery for my old APC UPS that provides backup power for my DVR and other TV components.
APC tech showed me that a new UPS was cheaper than a new battery. I have had generic batteries leak and cause damage, so I did not want to go that way. This one is more compact than my old APC UPS (2006) and has one more backup plug.

way too small
Have had several units. purchased 3 new ones. one was faulty, company replaced. the replacement amber light and fault warning sounds constant. Learned from tech support each outlet only supports 1.5 amps. A desktop requires 4-6 amps avg. A monitor .25 amps. One unit works fine without fault with 6-7 amps the other faults out at more than 2 amps. I will not purchase one of these again. very disappointed.

Very pleased
I've used APC Back-Ups before and had very good results. The last one lasted many years, but the most recent outage somehow finally managed to incapacitate that backup. Hence, the reason for ordering a new one.

Great desktop UPS
APC made some great improvements over the previous model. Standing the UPS on edge is one great advantage. APC has added a USB direct plug in charging port which keeps the sockets free. Excellent product.

UPS was easy to setup and install, test show it works well. Wish it had an indicator beep to let you know when power is cut and it is being used.

Much better than the previous models!
This new APC unit features additional "backed up" outlets than the previous 550 units and also now has a USB port for charging your smart phone or other device.
Simple installation and setup - Does the job as always. APC never disappoints,

This model is a great improvement over the 550!
The unit provides worry free charging ports for cell phones... ect..
These units typically end up under a desk so the change of orientation
& positioning of the outlets lend themselves to ease of access & use.

Swapping Old APC for New APC Unit.
I just gave away my ancient, very heavy 2005 APC 650 BKC50MC Back UPS U Unit, and got the new APC Back-UPS 600VA 7-Outlet/1-USB Battery Back-Up and Surge Protector Unit, and it works wonderfully, and was so easy to install. I can't believe the weight and size difference. Amazing.
