Battery IS replaceable
I ordered this as an exact replacement for one whose battery failed. I canceled the order after disassembling mine and finding the battery IS replaceable. $55 for an entire new UPS vs. $16 for a new battery? No brainer.

Useless
I work in IT and have always used APC UPS's in the office. Now that I work from home and have had a few power outages, I needed battery back up and surge protection. I've only had it for 7 months and it's completely died. It died while I was working on a project and even though I had house power when it shutdown, it cutoff the power to my desktop and I lost the data I was working on. I should also mention that you can't replace the battery so now it's just completely useless.

When you have power outages often…
Top notch products. We’ve always loved these for their surge protection and the battery power they provide which gives us that extra minute to save our work on the computer. Tried to buy this same product off Amazon, but with them, more and more products are becoming “undeliverable” in rural communities where there is no mail delivery within city limits and have to be dropped at the post office. Glad I could still order this straight from the source. :)

Great product.
But the battery will eventually need replacement. Note: The good news is that IT CAN EASILY and SAFELY BE REPLACED, and it's SIMPLY irresponsible of APC to claim otherwise.
Unplug it first (of course). It's just 4 screws and you're in. Battery is connected with 2 spade lugs, not soldered. You just pull them off, plug in the new battery, replace it in the unit and replace the screws. Maybe 2 minutes to do.
