PBX systems which have little or no ISDN capability can now easily and economically connect to ISDN networking. The ADTRAN ATLAS 550 provides both a T1 port to connect to the PBX and an ISDN port to connect to the public ISDN network and the switching and conversion to transparently link two different line technologies.
With the ATLAS technology, all of the switching and translations are handled inside ATLAS and offloaded from the PBX. The conversion works in both directions and is transparent to your legacy customer premises equipment, as if you're connected directly to the public network. You may also take advantage of lower PRI monthly rates despite a PBX that only supports robbed-bit signaling. The ATLAS PRI-to-T1 Converter means substantial cost savings and elimination of the need to take your PBX offline to upgrade it. The ATLAS system provides an easy, quick way to blend interfaces.
