Paragon II's superior KVM switch technology dramatically reduces equipment costs and optimizes space utilization. This generation of Paragon provides the levels of manageability, security and superior video quality needed to simplify management of business-critical data centers. The UMT832M brings Paragon II power to 8 users and 32 devices.
Raritan Paragon II UMT832M - KVM switch - 32 ports is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Raritan Paragon II and prior Paragon I line of KVM switches build on the sensible user interface from Raritan's MX-series, but run over easy to manage CAT5 / CAT5e cabling. As an added bonus Raritan offers interface modules for just about any situation: VGA with PS/2, VGA with USB, Sun and other Unix workstations, and serial terminal applications that would call for a VT-100 terminal. It is this last point that I would like to expand on, since the P2CIM-SER and AUATC interface modules allow Paragon II and Paragon I KVM switches to connect directly to console ports on routers, firewalls, LAN switches, and other network devices that you would want to have console access to, but find it a pain to carry around a dumb terminal or a laptop with a console cable to access. Since the Paragon II and Paragon I platform supports CAT5 and CAT5e analogue user stations, administrators are free to work on equipment from the comfort of their desk instead of the noisy and cold computer room. Certain Paragon II KVM switches also support IP access, which really opens up the possibilities for remote and centralized management. While not glamorous, the KVM switch fills a very important role in making high density installations manageable, and the Raritan Paragon II and Paragon I line go a few steps further in delivering an elegant solution that is extremely well made.Would I buy this product again or recommend to an associate or friend? You bet I would! Thanks Raritan for making the jobs of Data Center analysts _that_ much better!!
