Now working from home I have the flexibility to work outside from the patio and get to enjoy the beautiful sunny days. I was told by Netgear directly that it must be a hardware problem. Don’t waste your time. There’s a reason it’s the cheapest one.

For I stance figuring out how to just log on and change a password is nearly impossible. I had to do a full reset to change a password, otherwise works good.

With a family of seven and having regular wifi there has always been so much buffering and glitching when either streaming, playing video games, or my kids doing schooling online. For over 20 minutes he was flashing through various screens and ultimately said we had a virus and must get Netgear's firewall for our router to have everything work properly. We wanted a lifetime memberships for $999. Several other people also logged in to the computer and were requesting payment for helping with the Range Finder installation. More screens flashed across the computer. So much was going on , I panicked and disconnected. Now I can not login to my netgear account. my screens have all changed and I can not change my password on the nighthawk router. I think you have thieves in your Indian support system.. I am paralyzed on my computer. i called Apple service and they tried to be helpful but could not fix the router issues. I am so upset

I ordered this wifi extender because my wireless security cameras were having issues with weak signals from the router/modem (which is located in the corner of the house). This range extender has resolved that issue with ease. It was super easy to set and the WPS button made it even easier. I highly recommend this router from a reputable company, not some Chinese knock off online that will sell you data to third parties.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It works as described All in all it's a good box, it does exactly what it needs to do. I've owned it for a couple of years now, it was probably the best cheapest option in the 5Ghz range of products. Big plus is NETGEAR keeps updating it so that means they care about user security even after years of original purchase date. Unlike most competing devices in the range, you can also use it as an Access Point from the ethernet port, big plus for me. However I'd like to mention some points: -These units have a notable design issue: They tend to get hot and then the heat WILL cause random performance issues. I've seen some reviews mentioning this. Nothing NETGEAR can do since it's a hardware design issue. -Take in consideration it's a basic "essential" device. It's not going to do wonders regarding distance and signal strength. - Suggested workload is web browsing and HD video viewing. The hardware isn't enough for over FullHD video or online gaming (it has considerable lag for gaming, adds about 60-80ms - In 2020 there are much better options for the price range, I got a travel router from a competitor and it also has range extension capabilities. One very nice thing is that it's compatible with a very limited image of OpenWRT so you can slightly extend the capabilities but take in mind the very limited hardware it has. I tried using it as an openwrt router with PPPoE and IPv6 connectivity and while it worked the performance was not good, just enough for browsing. As is usual for all manufacturers in this range of products the port is 10/100 not gigabit ethernet so even at 5Ghz transfer speeds are limited to around 50mbps. Just for your consideration, and it's the industry standard. I think NETGEAR is very clear with the specifications and they mentioned somewhere around 20mbps. So big kudos for NETGEAR hardware specification and for software support, it would have been a perfect product as described except for the thermal issues.

The notebook computer on the first floor is about 15 years old and the wireless is not that great. But after hard wiring the computer to the extender the download speed quadrupled. The E3700 has lived up to the sellers claims.

This extender is junk, I have moved it closer to WiFi box, moved it further away, and it keeps losing connection, passwords has to re-entered when I try to use any thing on it. After 3 months I finally try to call customer service and get a message that if it’s over 90 days then I have to pay for repair. Aggravated

My only recommendation is that it can come loose from the wall due to the weight of the ethernet cable. I would recommend moving the port lower on future models to avoid this.

There is product support for 90 days from the purchase date. I had an agent on the phone with me for 60 minutes instructing me to enter date on my computer . We were successful. The agent could not share my computer screen which was too bad, I have a brand new Verizon router. In a perfect world, you press the WP button on the extender and press the WP button on the router. If the two transmit to one another then the installation is supposed to be complete, Thankfully, I had the agent access on the telephone support.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not at all what I expected After setting up the unit as an extender I was only able to get a few kbps. Not even 1 mbps on 2.4 or 5ghz. My network was in very good range too. On the network being extended i could easily get above 50mbps download. I tried 2 locations for the extender with the same results, only a few kbps. Maybe it works better as an access point, but this was not the results I was expecting.

Plus, there were no instructions on how to set up multiple devices...I had to figure that out on my own. They are nice because our modem wouldn’t reach everywhere in our house but wish they were more reliable.

I found out after I threw my other one away that apparently someone had blocked me from my existing extender. So when I called to have the new one set up they told me that is why the old one stoppped working. So I paid 100.00 to have them protect my system. They informed me that I would no longer need my mcafee. Apparently it didn’t stop someone from getting in.

And when I tried my internet speeds it was high but not higher and it was a constant WiFi thing and it didn’t like spike and go up and down instead I had to cool it to not let that happen but it is so much better than the other ones I tried.

In my case i was trying the extend the wifi network outside of my house and it did not work well beyond 20 yards or 60 feet from the router. i would buy it again only to get better wifi coverage in my house.

Over the last ten years, the device has been working properly with not much difficulty. The webpage to manage the device has been upgraded recently so it makes it easier to manage the device. The wifi range seems to be relatively wide and strong signals. I have tried it as an access point as well and the results are similar. The only reason I did not give it a five star is because it does sometimes gets disconnected, but not often.

Our board room has had trouble getting WiFi signal from our router just on the other side of the wall. But it id not have reliable response times and the wireless router was more dependable then the extender, so we went back to using just the wireless router by-passing the EX3700. Also, i was under the impression that phone support would be available to 90 days after purchase. This is not the case. Seriously thinking about returning the device.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This could have been the best extender possible. This is a good extender if you can get it to work beyond 12 feet from the modem. If you take it away the same distance I have my other extenders, it won’t connect. Support suggest a firmware update that I have not done. I don’t even know if it may already have the most up to date. I installed it about 12 feet away from my modem and it works just fine there. It gives you a 2G and a 5G network if your modem is capable. I also have the Netgear extender that is one model below this one. It works beautifully and it is about 25 or 30 feet away from the modem. Therefore, I have no idea why this one is having a problem. Support did not offer me a replacement but have only suggested to update the firmware. They suggest you do it with a cable directly to your laptop, never have done that before. If they would give me an easier way to do it it would be done.

We had to reset the unit and update the firmware just to get connectivity to my WIFI. WPS has never functioned and now the extender randomly drops off the network for no logical reason. So what did support do? They sent me a 2 page instruction on how to get it to work. My extender wouldn't go past step 3 of approx. 18 steps. Netgear to date will not exchange the unit until some ambiguous criteria is met. Now they want me to call support again. I have already wasted 3 hours with multiple attempts to get it to function properly. Good luck if your extender doesn't work as advertised! You'll need it. I recommend you avoid this unit.

Our signal strength on our Roku was listed as good, but when we turned on the microwave the tv wouldn’t work. With the extender our signal went to excellent and our problem was solved. The four star rating was because it took me a while to figure out the set up. I had to connect it to the computer and those instructions weren’t easy for me to follow.

In the process of trying to connect my first Netgear extender now it’s not working properly. I was not able to find a phone number for customer service even though they said there was one. That i think is not the correct configuration. when i researched only they mentioned its a but with the latest version update.

Barely worked at all before, but now I get max bars at all times. It does reduce speed overall, but if your initial speeds are decent the reduction should not be an issue in the slightest.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from AC750 WIFI range extender This product MAY work great but my rating is deceiving because we are using this in a house constructed of cement block outside the U.S. and I believe our signal is not easily transmittable even though its set only 25 feet away and the line of sight access is partially blocked. It shows either yellow or red 75% of the time. Hopefully we will figure a way to make this work as it should.

With our current WiFi setup, we could not rely on consistent connectivity. The Netgear WiFi Extender AC750 (EX3700 met our needs. With easy-to-read Quick Start booklet, we were able to set up the device in no time. We could have downloaded the free WiFi Analytics App to determine the best location to position the EX3700, but was really unnecessary as our security camera maintains a strong connection with our home network without any glitches. The price of the device was also a big plus. Good job, Netgear!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Terrible Save your money, this isn’t as user friendly as it should be. It’s quirky once setup but not worth or without trouble. WPS can only disabled by disabling broadcast. Can’t disable the LAN port. Really, it only consistently works with multiple SSIDs, rather than just mimicking the existing SSID. Ultimately not worth it for advanced home networks (DHCP/AccessControl). Oh, it also has you annoyingly setup a NetGear account prior to setting up the extender. Do yourself a favor and see if you can improve/reposition the existing AP rather getting this to extend the range.

For me it has one drawback and that is the instructions for installing may not be a problem for you. Once I figured it out it worked fine. I performed a before and after comparison and the result is that I now have GREAT signal in the farthest corner of my back yard. Worth every penny IMHO.

Also it only improves phone internet connection not gaming consoles. It slows down our nintendo switch. Sorry

My router is in the living room, and my room is far away from the WiFi router. I decided to try the WiFi extender, easy set up, I now get four bars on my Xbox. It’s a great investment, and I am very satisfied with the level of performance, I have no lag. Netgear is top notch!!!! Highly recommend!!

I logged in to the extender and saw there was a firmware update. The update froze at 11% and from that point forward the extender was useless. I tried factory resets, contacted netgear support, and nothing. I returned it today, and trying to decide if it is worth purchasing again.

I reached the point in the online help where it said I needed to contact technical help, which I was unable to do in several tries.. I spent several hours with no success. I decided to return it. While getting return information I left the unit plugged in and all of a sudden I noticed the router light was on. I was then able to get it working. It seems ok now.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from NETGEAR AC750 Received the NETGEAR AC750. Followed instructions regarding pairing it with my older NETGEAR N600. Had to pair it at least 6 times for it to work properly. It is working great, but the WPS indicator LED on the front panel continues to extinguish itself after a couple of minutes each time that I successful pair it with the router. Initially comes on, then blinks out after it is functioning for a few minutes. Other than that concern, I am happy with the performance of the unit. I am unsure how that minor concern affects the overall functionality of the unit.

I moved it to several locations before I found the best placement. The signal strength is better but I was hoping for a little more improvement. I wish there was a way to avoid losing that connection to the router. But overall the Ac750 extender is decent.

I tried everything, including being on hold multiple times trying to correct the problem. Everything and everyone else was able to connect and I couldn’t figure it out. I got this extender a year ago and it has been perfect. I can easily adjust the settings and my MacBook connects every time. I love it!!! Perfect for what I need.

Speeds from wifi host are consistently over 90Mbps, however through extender speeds have never exceeded 30Mbps and fluctuates substantially. Host and extender are only 20 feet away from each other.

After two calls to service and over an hour and a half of trouble shooting, the agent finally admitted the thing was defective. Instead of sending out a new one and a return label for the defective unit, he told me to exchange it at the retail store we purchased it from. We returned it and went with another brand.

I was able to set this up and get it running so all the applications for the projector were working fine. Great product, highly recommend.

I installed it on the 2nd floor. Installation instructions were clear. but I ran into a problem (entirely my fault and contacted Netgear over-the-phone support, which was superb. Problem solved, the extender works flawlessly.

I was actually planning to either run an ethernet cable from the living room (where the hub is located to the garage (which is about 30 feet away), or just getting a dedicated line in the garage. The extender was pretty easy to set up (with a few technical difficulties and once I got the bugs worked out it has absolutely solved my connection issues. Very reliable and stable. Speeds do not suffer. I have used this same product in 2 of my locations now.

In both cases it dropped the download and upload speed by %75 and I was testing it in the same room with my router connected to it wirelessly and via ethernet cable. My speed test shows 310 Mbps when I don’t use this extender and it immediately goes down to 80 Mbps when I connect to it. This is ridiculously unacceptable.

I've had intermittent and slow connection trying to chromecast to watch tv (works fine from my router - bit constantly buffers on this extender. I tried to update the firmware after one months use and it had bricked the product - it is now completely unusable. I develop hardware for a living and i can't believe netgear allow this to happen to a retail device - just shocking.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not as good I found the unit difficult to setup however when I left it alone for 24 hours, it eventually connected to my home network. Once connected, I moved the unit to the room where I intended to use it (about 18 feet from the router with only one hollow wall between it and the router. Once in place, required another 24 hours to find the network. When finally connected the performance was not as good and I expected. I was able to hit the internet through the extender but the poor signal I get from the router is actually faster than the extender.

The foyer is open to the main floor above it and near a Ruckus router so should be able to pick that signal up and pass it along to the Ring doorbell 3 feet away from it. But it cannot. That is not acceptable.

I was told by my internet provider that I needed an external range extender because I was having problems getting a WiFi signal in my bedroom, as the modem is in the living room. This has helped a lot so far to allow us to get the signal in the bedroom. I would recommend this for people living in an apartment, since you get a lot of interference due to multiple people using the internet at the same time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It works? I bought the EX3700 to use in my outdoor music studio. It has the capabilities to run on 2G or 5G. When I connect with the 5G, my wifi icon on my phone is there and shows I am connected. When I run it on 2G, the phone still shows LTE. I set it up correctly so am wondering why it is doing this. If I knew for certain that I am connected to the 2G network, I would give this 5 stars. As it is, I can only give it 4 until someone at NetGear can explain why I am encountering LTE.

With Covid lockdowns, the new norm of working from home and my kids doing online learning my internet needed a little boost even after upgrading with my provider. After IT person at work suggest I try an extender for my internet I started my look and stopped when I found this one from Netgear my search was complete. When I revived the Wi-Fi extender I was afraid it would be complicated but I was pleasantly surprised on how easy the set up was. I am very happy with my purchase!

I’d like it to reach the bedroom but it’s just not strong enough, so either the router (Nighthawk AC 1700) or the extender are not strong enough. I may have to get a mesh system even for this small place (1100 sq. Ft.). Seems like it should work.

I worked with net gear technician and was told it was faulty, the I had the same problem with the replacement. No one seems to know why the WPS light does not stay on after set up.

Naturally our router has Wireless capability, but we have multiple Components- iPhone's, Desktops, Laptops and printers all on the same wireless circuit. Enough said I, and hunted for some kind of stabilizer device that would split the LAN network. I found this device that communicates through my Generation 4 Apple TV module, adjusted settings and now having THREE circuits I routed all devises noted above through separate wireless Frequencies. I can now watch Sky News from London with no noisy picture and currently note I have FULL WiFi bars on this device which were previously perhaps three bars - so objective reached. This small '˜plug and play' (or Ethernet) unit has exceeded my intentions. Thank you Netgear

Wifes iPhone loses our network connection in some rooms Solution Netgear EX3700, provides uninterrupted service Researched ratings, and how these extenders worked (had to learn) The EC3700 was rated best bang for buck. In my case it works well and price is fair. An available app allows precise testing and monitoring. The EX3700 is dual band, 2.4 n 5 ghz. The setup allows a mode called fastlane. Ie EX3700 to router uses 1 frequency, EX3700 to devices uses the other frequency, Netgear claims this gives better thruput. Makes sense to me. I am a satisfied customer

Plugged extender in to pole barn about 200' from router and still get a very strong signal to router which easily extends internet to the barn for full wifi access. truly amazing and saved me a ton of work having to bury a line from house to barn and now I can stream netflix, hulu, etc. in the barn.

It is small, and is plugged into the power strip below my desk, so it doesn't take up very much space at all. In fact I bought two of the extenders, one for the 3rd floor, but it turned out there's no need; full signal bars. Then I thought well the grandchildren play in the basement on the old 60" projection screen with the original NES, but more importantly... On their phones! I thought, Eureka, but once again Netgear had it covered with full signal. Thank you Netgear, and sorry I couldn't be more technical other than to say, hopefully with the correct terminology, the ping(?) is undetectable on my two grandson's XBox One, or so they say.

The other computer was getting a speed test of about 0.4 Mb before using the EX3700 now it's nearing 4.8 Mb. Once it's set up there's noting to further to do. Just bring up your browser and start surfing the web.

To do manually go to your tablet or phone search you WiFi select it then enter the router password for the 2.4G you will have to enter the SSID and password fro the 5.0G. The beauty of the AC750 is that is a dual band that is why I selected it over the AC300. The Amazon Fire Stick responds better when streaming on 5.0G. I suggest you watch the YouTube video on Netgear AC750. Note you can move it to different areas of your house. I move from the back of the house to the garage when I am going to stream in the garage. Just turn it off before you unplug it and plug it in then turn it on, you are good to go.

I was migrating from an older Netgear router, so gave it the same network name and password and all my devices connected effortlessly, it maintained some of my device names. The only device it has not improved was the reception of my Ring Video doorbell. I'm going to have to boost that signal, that was disappointing.

You first need to connect to the units' WiFi device from your phone or computer, AND THEN set up it's own WiFi name. Ie. "FIOS-Name_2GEXT"

I heard of others having trouble with calls fading in and out, but this device is clear and without a "hiccup". Meanwhile, I'm using the WIFI for my laptop, cell phone and tablet. That's FOUR devices at the same time with a clear and powerful signal. I'm very happy with the product.

The 2G network also connects more slowly than the main router. I understand there will be some lag with a wifi booster, but 30-45 seconds seems excessive. Once connected, the extender is reliable and quick if rather limited in range.

The signal is strong along with upload download speeds being right at where they need to be. This unit plugs right into a wall outlet and works as advertised. It looks and feels pretty robust with two positional antenna's and easy to use and configure. The only con which is a small thing, is it would be nice if the status lights were more visible from a distance and different angles.

I bought mine used so there were no instructions included, but I was able to look on the NETGEAR website and find what was needed. Also needed to do a factory reset by pushing a pin in the little hole. After that everything has worked well as advertised. I get good coverage now in rooms that had spotty to none before! Sometimes it loses the signal (but that could be the router), and there's always loss of speed (but I understand that that's always true of extenders). Very easy set-up, and once set up you can move it around to find the best configuration. The only thing I don't llike is the WPS and Power Buttons on the side near the bottom...it's too easy to turn the unit off when you are trying to re-link it via WPS. Why not put them on the top, where they are easy to get to?

When working (all green lights it does great to boost the signal. But more times than not it shows either red or yellow indicators and WiFi suffers worse than it did before buying the extender. A quick reset and its back up and running for a little while.

They are all working very well and I can use my wifi anywhere around my home with very powerful network. One of products had some ip issue, but NETGEAR has helped me fast and nice. And eventually, they replaced it to new one shortly. All progress was clean and smooth. I will buy these products again if I have more spaces for wifi extension. I appreciate to NETGEAR!!!

The 5ghz signal in two of my most distant rooms was almost non-existent, and when the signal was available, I had download speeds of only 9 to 12mbs. Putting this about two-thirds of the way to the rooms has given me full signal strength in both rooms, and download speed is now around 100mbs

Reception on the far upper story dropped significantly impacting on my son's iPad and Samsung smart TV. Placing the EX3700 half way between has restored full service. Setting up the extender was easy and all we had to do was to choose which WIFI signal was best for each of us based on how we move around the house. An excellent piece of gear.

Only 4 stars because there should be more attention in the documentation about location of the unit, adjustment of the antennas, and, for users of Fastlane, which antenna is 2.4GHz and which antenna is 5GHz. One minor, undocumented anomaly. The status light for the wifi may go from green to amber, but the signal strength will be strong. It may be a function of sampling, i.e. if there's a momentary drop in signal at the same time it's being measured, the "amber" strength will show. Simply power-cycling the unit clears the amber condition.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Extender The Netgear AC750 has greatly improved the WiFi coverage in our home. The dual band is a definite plus. Setup was simple and coverage has been continuous. There are also nice bonuses available such as scheduling access hours.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Expand Access The initial set up was a breeze... and the only issue I've run into was not receiving a notice about software update - which wasn't NETGEAR's fault. Their service rep walked me through the process of the update and the reboot and I'm a happy camper again.

Netgear saved my week. We kept the business ope and made money that week. Thank you netgear we could not have operated without the extender. Tommy

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Okay and quick to install it does what it says. I have it 35 feet (through 4 walls from the router. It has boosted signal and gives great spectrum speeds. Down side is a little imposed lag, but data speed is great.

My cable company had me moving towards $350 for a Basic Cable/DVR package, 100mbps internet and WiFi in an 800 soft home, they moved me to a '˜panoramic' WiFi and never even told me about the modules that go in dead spots.... at 300 mbps which did nothing. They were pressuring me to go Gigablast. I ditched them, now I'm on 10mbps $25 internet, didn't work well until I added the NETGEAR, ditched cable and stream video all day and night from a $40 monthly subscription live TV STREAMING PACKAGE, PLUS 1080P MOVIES EVERY NIGHT! Thank you, NETGEAR!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good range but have issue after one year The first year, it worked like a charm. However, after 15 months, it started acting weird. The signal of 5.0 is inconsistent and lost eventually. The signal of 2.4 is inconsistent but doesn't get lost. Each time I make manufacture reset, it works great for 2 ~ 3 weeks and then same thing happen. However, the range is great and consistent.
