Better Connection Speed
I have an older laptop and an older linksys modem. I had planned to upgrade but breakdowns in health and vehicles have postponed it for now. Installation and connection to my modem was very simple and painless. It upgraded my connection speed from 54 mbps to 144 and sometimes 300. I've been using it every day and am thinking of purchasing one for my daughter. Very satisfied with this product.

Pros: Easy install with CD. Connects to my Linksys wrt1900ac router at 867mbps. Bought refurbished, $30 including shipping.
Cons: wusb6300 does a reset after login to windows 7. blue lights go off, then recycles, lights start blinking then connection established. Takes about 15 sec but is a pain. Good to go after this. Has latest hardware version: 1027.105.2015

Great device with consistent performance.
This product was supplied to me from Linksys in an effort to test drive the device in a real use environment, by those who would purchase and use it. After loading the drivers from the supplied CD, I plugged this beauty in and it did not fail me once. It provided a consistent throughput, up and down, and for the first time I was able to benefit from my dual mode AC router. I live in a very rural setting with only 2.5 mb and I noticed the difference right away in the speed and efficiency. I took it to a place where I could access 20+ mb and it blew my hat off. I live in a 3 story house that is roughly 3300 sq. ft. with only the router as my access point. The house runs 40 ft. east to west, with the router being on the 2nd floor and on the east wall. The range was excellent and only became marginal when I slipped into a closet on the west end of the house on the 3rd floor. Great!
The only gig I gave this product and I am sure it will change, is the size. It sticks out a bit. If you are stationary, no problem. I tend to move around in my work area with a laptop in my arms. It adds a couple of inches to the footprint if I need to sit it down where I am working. Just be aware of it sticking out. In all fairness it is actually 4.5 stars.

Too Big
I chose to receive this item in exchange for writing an honest review. I was excited to be able to use this adapter on a laptop that already was wifi capable but was always very slow in accessing the internet. It did not do what it was supposed to do. First, the device itself is too wide. when inserted in a usb port (I tried it on 3 laptops and one desktop) it blocks usage of the port next to it, it should be designed to be narrower. Second, the laptop I needed to use this with does not have a disc drive, the box only came with an installation disc, no other instructions. On my own, I had to go to Linksys.com and search for the ability to download the needed disc drives, it was not "plug and play". After following installation instructions, it worked even slower than the pre-installed drivers. Then I went back to Linksys.com and searched for driver updates, found what was needed for Windows 10, downloaded and installed, THEN real problems began, laptop would not connect to any internet site or my home network. It interfered with all operations of laptop, couldn't access control panel, cursor would freeze the bounce all over the screen, etc. Finally after 2 days of trying to get my laptop to function properly, I un-installed the program, restarted my laptop and am back to where it was before installation. Slow to connect to internet but functional. If I had purchased this wireless adapter, I would be returning it. Once again, this is my experience trying to use it with Windows 10. When I have time, I plan on trying to install it on another laptop that still is running Windows Vista. If that installation goes well, then I will update this review to be more positive, if it doesn't go well, I will update with that information as well. My desktop computer, running Windows XP did not have pre-installed wifi and I am already using a Cisco usb wifi adapter. I am considering switching that adapter with this one, but first I will see how the installation goes with the Vista laptop. I don't want to interfere with my current wireless network.

The AC Speed is great
Got this as my older laptop only has 802.11G
My router is a newer type with 802.11 AC so I got this. Wow, so much faster. They say you should run this on a USB 3.0 It runs great on USB 2.0. I love the small footprint of this dongle. Easy to store in my laptop bag. The speed just blows me away.

Not what I hoped for.
The product was able to get installed after 3 attempts on my Windows 7 desktop, but was disappointed in the lag times on the internet. Was hoping to use this device on the desktop and be able to move my router away from the desktop to a better location for better coverage. Found that the time to bring up browser's and new pages on the browser was extremely slow and very frustrating. Decided to remove this device and put my direct line back into the router for the desktop.

Does the job!
This is a great way to upgrade and take advantage of dual band routers and over crowded 2.4 GHz networks. My only complaint so far has been its large bulky size, as it blocks the concurrent use of adjacent USB ports on my laptop. If you have the same problem and want access to adjacent ports while in use, you will need to purchase an extension adapter separately. Just make sure the adapter is USB 3.0 compatible to get the most speed out of its capabilities.

In the fast lane now!
I was thinking of upgrading the wireless adapter on my laptop to take full advantage of my upgraded internet service. The standard one in the laptop worked fine, but after installing the Linksys adapter I am getting download speeds in the upper 80mbps now vs the mid 20's I was getting before. What a difference! My only concern is the adapter is on the larger side and sticks out quite a bit from the laptop so it's something I'll have to pay attention to when handling it. Aside from that, the speed difference far outweighs the size concern. Please note, I received this product free from Linksys in exchange for my honest review of the product.

So far so goo!
I have been using this for a little over a week. It does work well with my laptop and my wireless signal stays constant. Not really sure about the speed since I am not sure what it was without it but does seems to be better with websites loading quicker than before. It was very easy to install, just run the disk and plug it in when the screen tells you. One draw back is that it is larger than I though so I have to be careful I don't hit it when moving my laptop since it could easily break off.

Easy to use
This Wireless USB adapter was very easy to use. At home I have a ZyXel router. But I inserted the CD into my desktop PC, click set up your Linksys Adapter, found my network, plugged in the adapter and viola, connected. The next day, powered up the PC, plugged the adapter back in, and almost instantly it was working. I tried it at work, and was thinking here it will fail as WI-fi is notoriously poor in our building. Seriously, we once unwired a lab to go wireless but soon put all the ethernet cables back in as the Wi-fi was just terrible. But this worked. Just as easy of a setup. Got a good signal strength. I did try hooking it up to my tablet, with a mini-usb adapter, but alas, no go. Ah well. It does work with laptops and desktops. Nice product. My only complaint--the cap on it; I wish either the adapter was retractable, and thus no need for a cap, or the cap was attached via a small chain so that it would not get lost, because I will probably lose that cap. But otherwise, a very easy to use adapter that works with different routers with ease and has good signal strength.
I got this in exchange for an honest review.

Superfast Downloads and File Transfers
I was the happy recipient of a promotional giveaway of a Linksys Max-Stream AC2600 Wi-Fi Router so it made sense to match it up with a couple of Linksys WUSB6300 AC1200 Wireless-AC USB Adapter. Smartest thing I've done in a long time. File transfers between my PC and Network Attached Storage increased at least fourfold. Downloads of all but the largest data files seem instantaneous. Great when it actually connects to 5GHz!
Bought this Certified Refurbished off Amazon, it installed easily, and worked great for a couple months. Now, every day or so, it refuses to connect to my 5GHz network on a Netgear Nighthawk router. It will sit on "connecting" for a while then... nothing. If I unplug it and plug it back in, it sometimes works, but the past two days it has simply refused to connect to the 5GHz network. Tried restarting the router, nothing. It's also on the 9/17 driver. Frustrating that when it works, it's so fast, but it only works once in a great while. Also, I'd love some clarification from Linksys support on the blatant contradiction in the "Q&A" section in the photo accompanying this review...

Excellent for my Laptop
I have a older laptop with an older network card. I have a dual band router but was not able to connect to the 5G connection and could only get to the 2.4 through the laptop. This product was a very good solution. Very easy setup, connected straight to the 5.0 band and boom, I'm was off to the races. I did not have a lot of hope for the product just because this kind of thing often doesn't live up to the promise. But I have had no issues with connection drops, the speed is noticably increased and I'm very happy with the product and recommend it.

Awesome USB Wireless Adapter- WUSB6300 AC1200
I received this as a free product from the Linksys family & friends offer and I'm so glad that I did! This wireless adapter has not lost the signal from my wireless router once, and I'm currently on my 5G wireless band without any speed lag or bad signal quality. It also uses a USB 3.0 connection, although it works just as good on USB 2.0 as it does 3.0. I tested both types of ports to be sure. Performance is great, speed is great, and it is a great product overall...thanks Linksys.

Easy Setup
I received this as a free sample from Linksys in exchange for honest feedback. I've been using it on a 7 year old laptop that has a built-in 802.11 b|g WiFi and Win10 on it. The set-up was extremely simple, pop in the CD, navigate to and click the setup program, follow a few simple directions. I've used it with two dual-band routers, one nearby and one distant, with no problems.
Note: I have not had this long enough to rate reliability (ask me in a few years!), could not figure out a way to skip that rating.

Got a new AC router? Take advantage of the speed!
The new wireless standard for routers today is 802.11ac. Chances are, you are still using your older 802.11N wireless devices and adapters. That's ok, but unless you have a device or adapter that supports the new standard, you are not using the bandwidth that your new AC router is capable of. The Linksys WUSB6300 AC1200 Wireless-AC USB Adapter allows you to achieve the higher speeds that you thought you were going to get, and faster WiFi speed is probably why you bought the new router in the first place. I have used the adapter for about a week and it works great on every Windows computer that I attached it to, and even a Windows tablet. Windows 10 recognizes the device as soon as you plug it in and all you have to do is connect to your WiFi and you are off and running. I have a Linksys EA8500 Max-Stream AC2600 MU-MIMO router and I was achieving speeds of 854 Mbps regularly. The lowest I experienced was 582 Mbps at the far edge of my property. I did not experience any blips or reconnect problems during this first week and I am impressed with the range also. The only con I can think of is that the adapter is a little wide. A couple computers that I tried it on had a difficult time fitting into the USB port on the front of the case (they were recessed or behind a pull down door). This was remedied with a short flexible 6 inch USB extension that I had in a drawer. If this was packaged with an extension, I would have given five stars. Overall, I would recommend this adapter to my friends and family.
Pros: Excellent WiFi speeds with an AC router. Great range, performance and compatibility.
Cons: A little wide for recessed USB ports on the front of some computers. No extension cable provided in the box.

Reliable when connected to a USB 2.0 port
I've had the unit for about a week. During that time I have moved about a terabyte of data through it. I have connected it to my laptop via USB 2.0 and 3.0 ports. While connected to the 2.0 ports I have not had a single data failure. While connected via the 3.0 port the unit works for about an hour and then fails and needs to be removed and re-inserted. I have observed the unit is very warm while doing the re-insert. I had previously purchased an AE2500 - USB N600 adapter. The AE2500 would work for about 15 minutes and shutdown the USB port. The only way to get the port going again was to power-cycle the laptop. The AE2500 was extremely hot when it failed this way.

Faster than the on-board Ethernet options!
The installation of the driver was a no-brainer. Simply insert the disc into the drive, follow the prompts and then you are done. When it came time to insert the adapter into one of the two USB 3.0 ports on the back of my Dell Inspiron 3847 tower, I had discovered that the device was a little too wide to fit between the devices that were already plugged in above and below the USB 3.0 ports. I had a similar device from another company previously attached to one of the USB ports and its slimmer profile allowed it to fit snugly. The difference in width between the devices is approximately a quarter of an inch. Since I did not wish to disconnect my video, I was forced to utilize an USB extension cable to connect the adapter.
The following speed tests were conducted between 7:05 and 7:15 PM ET on Wednesday, April 27, 2016, using SpeedTest.Net via a server based in Massillon, Ohio. We are located near Cleveland, Ohio, our Internet provider is Time Warner Cable and our modem and router are Linksys products. The best results out of three have been posted for each connection method. Method one via on-board wired Ethernet: Ping 16 ms, Download 13.87 Mbps & Upload 2.41 Mbps. Method two via on-board wireless Ethernet: Ping 16 ms, Download 11.78 Mbps & Upload 2.41 Mbps. Method three via Linksys AC1200 Wireless-AC USB Adapter: Ping 15 ms, Download 15.27 Mbps & Upload 2.48 Mbps. While the adapter had proven itself to retain a reliable connection, its range was slighly less than that of the on-board wireless Ethernet.
Based upon the results, we can clearly see that the adapter outperforms the on-board wired Ethernet as well as the on-board wireless Ethernet connection methods. If not for the use of the USB extension cable, one could conclude that the ping, download and upload speeds of the adapter could have been even better than reported.

Works Great
Using on an older laptop. Still using Win 7. I added more memory, SSD and now upgraded Wi-Fi. This laptop is good for a few more years now. I was able to move around house without losing my signal. Stayed at 4-5 bars, 5 is max. I streamed movies from Netflix and Amazon with no problems. I even took my laptop across the street to my neighbors house and it's about 120 yards away. Inside his house I still picked up my Wi-Fi. Now I live in a ruhl area, and my router is hi up on a desk by a window, but I still got 1-2 bars. I have seen a lot of bad reviews on Amazon, but I did not have any problems at all. Setup up was easy and fast. The only complaint I have, is sticking out from laptop. I wish it had a right angle on it, to point up.

Review of Linksys AC 1200 (WUSB6300) AC Wi-Fi Dual
This is a review of the Linksys AC 1200 (WUSB6300) AC Wi-Fi Dual Band USB 3.0 interface Adapter. This device is compatible with the following wireless standards: 802.11a, 802.11b, 802.11g, 802.11n, and 802.11ac. The Linksys AC 1200 (WUSB6300) AC Wi-Fi Dual Band USB 3.0 interface Adapter ships with a setup CD.
I paired the Linksys AC1200 (WUSB6300) with a Linksys WRT 1900 ACS Dual Band Smart Wi-Fi Router with 1.6 GHZ dual core CPU and 512 MB memory (2.4 GHZ and 5.0 GHZ).
I live in a two story house. The router is located on the first floor of the house in the far left corner. I did the majority of the testing of the Linksys AC1200 on the second floor of the house in the far right corner, which placed it at the farthest distance possible.
I tested the Linksys AC1200 (WUSB6300) on two devices. One was on a desktop computer with a 1.87 GHZ Intel Core 2 6300 processor and 4MB of memory, running Windows 7 Ultimate Service Pack 1. The other device was a notebook computer with a 1.73 GHZ Intel Core 2 U7300 processor and 4 MB memory. It originally ran Vista, and then was upgraded to Windows 7, and finally to Windows 10 (x64) Version 1511.
The majority of the time, while testing the Linksys AC1200 (WUSB6300), there were at least four other devices also using wireless Wi-Fi in my home (another desktop PC, two android cell phones, and one android tablet.).
For purposes of this review, I spent the majority of my time streaming video clips, streaming movie clips, streaming music. Otherwise, I spent time doing general browsing on the internet, reading and responding to web-based email, and an occasional internet speed test.
On both the desktop and the notebook, the setup was fast and uneventful. The adapter was recognized by both devices quickly, and on both devices, the adapter was recognized by my router.
I first tested the adapter using a secured password-protected network band. Later I tested it using an open non-secured, but password-protected guest network band. Not once did I fail to connect.
I did not experience any drops in signal. Every once in a while I experienced some stutter while streaming video or music; and on occasion some noticeable slowness (usually on the notebook). On one stutter and/or slowness occasion, I was allowing several Windows updates to download and install at the same time I was streaming. I suspect that this was a significant contributor to the stutter and/or slowness.
I found the connection speed and the overall download and upload speed to consistently be within the range advertised in the Linksys AC 1200 (WUSB6300) AC Wi-Fi Dual Band USB Adapter specifications.
The Linksys AC 1200 (WUSB6300) AC Wi-Fi Dual Band USB Adapter definitely improved the speed on the notebook compared to the original internal wireless network adapter (Qualcomm Atheros AR9285).
Overall, I found the Linksys AC 1200 (WUSB6300) to be a very capable adapter, and would recommend to anyone that desires to move up to the 802.11ac wireless standard, and/or wishes to improve upon their wireless experience with the other wireless standards.

Good Performance Product
The packaging is good and includes a CD (nice touch) with the drivers and the manual. I plugged the adapter into a Super Speed USB port (USB 3.0) and the driver installation went off without a hitch. The adapter is a bit larger than some others I have seen, and it blocks the adjacent USB port. The dongle connected to an 802.11n wireless network without any problems. Network access speed was reasonable. I also connected to an 802.11ac wireless network without any problems at 2.4GHz.

There is a known issue with this device and windows 8.1. Best to skip until drivers are corrected.
After spending way to much time dealing with Linksys support I am returning for another brand. Which will be the first non Linksys device I have for networking at home.

Great upgrade for an older laptop
I bought this for an older netbook (no CD drive), installation was still easy.
I was able to download the driver from the linksys support website. Plugged it in and told windows XP to install the new device, typed in the folder and I was in. It just works! Turned off the old adopter and turned on the new one and I doubled my speed.
I took the netbook for a walk around my house and out in the back yard and had a solid connection everywhere.

Happily surprised
I just got this and honestly had no idea what to expect. In our home we have personal computers running Vista, Win 7, and Win 10 and a smart TV which was not providing very satisfactory streaming. My hope was that our streaming speeds could be improved without completely upgrading everything from the router on up.
The ease of set up was superb, CD with easy auto set up and install, plugged into one of the available usb ports on the back of my desktop, no idea if that is a 2 or 3 since it was just too much trouble to see where I was plugging it in but no matter it worked right away and quickly was up and running. I did a quick check of the desktop for speed and ability to stream, great though this had not been much of an issue, then in to check the laptop running Win 7...I couldn't believe the change in the speed loading pages and streaming, next to the laptop running Win 10 and though that had been our newest and fastest, even that has speeded significantly. Next test was the TV...vast improvement! I have yet to check the Vista laptop, that one is the oldest device and not as critical to me but suffice to say, I am extremely happy with the solution this adapter has provided.

I have a EA9200 router and connected without a hitch. Receiving 867 Mbps consistently thru a range extender. Router is on first floor and office is on third, with extender on second floor. When connecting directly to the router speed is down to 350 Mbps which is understandable given distance/floors, etc.

Quality Product! Easy Set up!
Great product, a bit large when used on a laptop.
I've been using on my Dell precision laptop for two weeks, no signal failure.
Signal strength: between 585 Mbps - 867Mbps connected to my 5GHz WiFi signal compared to the computer connection I was using and getting only 300Mbps.
Installation was a breeze, no issues.
Adapter is a bit large for a laptop but, works great.
I would give it 5 stars if it wasn't for the size, its tight when you connect other devices to adjacent USB ports.

Wireless adapter with USB3.0?
This product was obtained through the Linksys Friends + Family channel for evaluation. Here are my observations.
Product packaging - almost no plastic, aside from the shrinkwrap around the box and a protector for the plug.
First impressions - the adapter is massive - 3.5"L x 1.2"W x 0.4"D. This makes it approximately twice the size of a typical flash drive. It has a small power button on the side. That was unexpected. Since it required installing the driver via an included CD-ROM, I was out-of-luck on my laptop, since it has no optical drive. The USB3.0 capability was a real surprise. How many devices these days would have a USB3.0 port but lack wireless capability? I suppose you could buy a desktop and not buy a wireless card, but it seems unlikely.
I disconnected my Ethernet cable from my desktop and loaded the installation CD. All went well, until I plugged the adapter into the PC's USB3.0 port. This generated continuous errors. So I gave up and plugged it into an empty USB2.0 slot. Then it worked fine. It displayed the wireless zones. I selected one and provided the password. It connected immediately. I compared the upload and download speeds with the adapter against my PC with the network cable connected and the adapter removed. Absolutely no meaningful difference. So it performed well enough.
So it seems to be OK (other than not working with my USB3.0 port). But this seems like a niche product that probably won't be flying off the shelves.

Wireless Utopia!!!!!!!!
Well, at least it seems that way to me.........I've had this product now for a few weeks and am genuinely impressed with the quality and effectiveness........I tested this in a 40 year old house where most wireless adapters can't even penetrate the walls throughout the house both upstairs and down..........I'm using Toshiba and Lenovo laptops with b/g/n connections (so pretty slow wireless usually if any) and using a Linksys N750 router............ I was able to run at 300Mbps..........pretty nice since normal conditions allow for 72-100 Mbps and sometimes freezing up............would definitely urge anyone to upgrade to this especially if you don't have the latest routers/equipment.........hopefully I'll be able to afford a newer router and really have fun!!!!!!!!!!!

Linksys WUSB6300 AC1200
Linksys WUSB6300 was the perfect upgrade to replace my internal 802.11bg adapter which failed. Physical and software installation were easy: plug in desktop USB port and install setup software. WPS button and dual LEDs facilitate setup. Slim/compact profile does not obstruct adjacent USB ports. It is compatible with Windows 10 Home and provides reliable operation through interior walls.
Nice that at 5GHz there are no discernable interfering emitters. High data capacity (650Mbps at -53dBm RSSI) is overkill as I have only 4.5Mbsp internet connection over DLS and through USB2.0 port, but is capable of handling internet upgrades.
Compact fixed orientation internal antenna without extension cable or cradle restricts ability reposition and orient antenna to reduce path loss, but extra hardware and hassle are probably not worth small (˜2-5dB) potential benefit.

Installation was simple, just followed the instructions and viola internet. Only had one incident where the WUSB6300 disconnected and had to reboot the laptop, but we're not sure if it was the unit or the laptop (was the only reason for 4 out of 5 stars for reliability). But the overall experience was very good.

While I have not yet had a chance to use this with an AC router, I have been happy with the use on standard single band routers. I have used this on both my laptops which have built-in Wi-Fi receivers and the internal receivers were constantly lagging while this Linksys USB adapter was much smoother and a lot less wait for web pages to load and movies to play.
I like the solid build of the Wireless-AC adapter and I feel it should last for a long time.
I plan on getting an AC router soon and will update this review then.

Fast! Easy to set up.
I was given a free sample of this product to test out at my home about 1-2 weeks ago. I used the device on a Dell desktop PC with Windows 10. The set up was extremely simple (less than two minutes utilizing the CD provided in the box). I was able to obtain download speed up to 70 Mbps with the desktop computer being about 4 feet from my router. Connecting to a wifi extender, which is about 15 feet from the router (and slightly further than that from the computer), I was able to get download speeds up to 36 Mbps. For me, the one downside of the device was that it is only compatible with Windows based computers. I have a Macbook Pro and, therefore, was not able to use the adapter with my laptop to perform further testing. For the price, I would definitely recommend this adapter to anyone who needs a reliable, fas, wifi connection for their computers.

An excellent product from Linksys
For transparency sake, this is a review product that I received at no cost from Linksys.
Having purchased several wireless USB adapters before, I wasn't expecting much in terms of stable connectivity, let alone speed. But the Linksys WUSB6300 AC1200 Wireless-AC USB Adapter far exceeded those expectations. The AC1200 delivered consistent download speeds of 35-40mbps (occasionally higher than that) and uploads of 10mbps. These speeds are at approximately 20-30 feet away from my router mounted a room away. Any farther than that and speeds plummet considerably, but you can't fault a USB adapter for lack of range. They are not designed for that. It was also nice that it worked right out of the box on my 8-year old lap that has been upgraded to Windows 10.
Overall, this product gets high ratings. After two weeks of constant use, I have had absolutely no issues with it.

I've only had this a few days, but it installed in Windows 10 with zero issues, and (at close range to my wireless router) it has throughput as good as my wired Ethernet connection. I've noticed no glitches or performance hits.

Problems with connection, old slow linksys works better
I bought this because of the USB 3.0 technology, but it has to be plugged into the back of my computer, which is on the ground. I'm guessing that the signal isn't good because a page took minutes to load, if it did at all. So much for fast.
My linksys AE3000 came with a USB extender stand (USB 2.0 unfortunately), so the adaptor could sit on the desk. When I went back to my old adaptor, my browsing went back to normal.

Wireless USB Adapter
I bought this a few weeks ago and was glad that I did. At my university, the 2.4GHz is often times crowded because people like to leave wireless devices on 24/7, so that bogged down my WiFi speeds. With this Wireless USB Adapter, I am able to connect to the less-crowded 5.0GHz channel and have a far more stable wireless connection now. Although I still crash a few times here and there, that is because of my school's network equipment and such.

Linksys AC1200 Wireless-AC USB Adapter
I'm not a very technical geek but can get through a few computer issues on my own and because I am the self taught IT guy for the household. Upon receipt of this new Linksys adapter, I go it up and running for my old Dell laptop running Win 10. Installation was very smooth and trouble free. I ran the .exe setup file from the Linksys CD that comes in the box and then followed the simple instructions to get the adapter working. It works very well and the dual band feature is nice. Set up was very straight forward and easy. I have it running on the 5 GHz band. The only complain I have is the size of the adapter. While plugged in to the USB port, it extends approx. 3" out from the laptop. It is very obtrusive and can easily interfere with other objects and while moving things around on the desk. I wouldn't recommend using the portable laptop while this adapter is in the USB port. It would be very easy to have something hit it and knock it out of position or even damage it. It replaced an old EA6000 Linksys USB adpter which was very small and the ne AC1200 is probably 5x the size of the old on. Linksys can and should do a better job and designing a smaller adapter. I like everything else about that adapter and am a a fan of Linksys products but I can't recommend this adapter to anyone simple because of its large/obtrusive size. If the laptop is always stationary, then it isn't quite as much of a nuisance, but it still doesn't need to be so large.

Good at the right price!
Pros: Easy to install. It came with a setup disk, but I didn't use for either a Windows 7 or a Windows 10 setup (the same PC - just both before and after Windows 10 installed). In both cases Windows reached out and installed a working driver to get the USB wireless adapter working.
Connectivity - this was installed to a PC, so no testing of multiple distances, etc., but transmitting through a single wall. Throughput was constant at around 520 Mbps, no problems there.
No utility to work with the adapter - I've seen these available with other adapters, but I've also seen them conflict with Windows and fight, as it were, over who's in control. I prefer not to have that battle.
Cons: Size of the adapter is problematic. If you put it in the front of the PC, you must be careful of inadvertently brushing it, knocking it out of the slot. If in the back of the PC, then it sticks out into the cables, wires, etc.
Connectivity - I encountered inconsistent issues on a second Windows 10 PC with initializing the device if removed / re-inserted. Took up to 5 minutes to start working again after re-connecting to the wireless network. Not your typical scenario, and no idea what the root cause is, and may not have been the adapter's fault, but something noticed along the way.
Overall, this was a decent addition to my children's PC that they use for online games. At the right price, I would recommend this to anyone looking for a simple addition of wireless.

Excellent Speed And Easy To Configure
This USB WIFI Adapter really exceeded my expectations. It arrived earlier than expected and was very well packed. I un-boxed it and read the little Quick Start instructions on the inside of the installation cd package. I inserted the disk, followed the instructions, plugged the device in when prompted and BANG! Done! Restarted my laptop and turned off the built-in WIFI. Once Windows loaded, I clicked the WIFI icon in the Task Tray(just as if I hadn't turned the on-board WIFI off) and there they were, all the networks in range. I chose my home WIFI and entered the pass phrase and was online. This entire process took less than 5 minutes. Everything worked great. I even took it to work with me and tested it on our corporate network. Flawless, just flawless. This little guy now lives with my laptop and they make great room mates.
My only CON would have to be that the range isn't quite as far as the built-in wifi. But this device is far faster.

Great throughput!
The device was easy to install and configure by following the instructions on the supplied CD. After setup I ran some speed test. On my 5gh network I was able to get download speeds of 17 and 20 Mbps. Granted I was very close to the router but that is still very impressive for a wireless adapter. The only down side is the physical size. It's a big target.

Linksys WUSB6300 AC1200
The adapter works great and I had no problems setting it up, just plug and connect. My connections were better using either AC or N wifi. I noticed faster download and upload speeds and increase in strength signal from a longer distance. The only drawback to me is the size, but I guess that helps with picking up the signal better and you should disconnect it from the laptop when it's being transported to avoid breaking it. I would definitely buy another one.

Overcomes barriers
I am using a Linksys WRT1900AC router that is located on the first floor of my home. The computer that I have installed the AC1200 on is located in a small office in the furtherist corner of the second floor of my home. The signal has to travel through brick walls and a plaster ceiling. I have 25 mbps of broadband from my cable provider. The install was quick and simple using the included CD. I am running Windows 10. Using a network speed test, I am getting 8.45 mbps download speed on the 5GHz band and 19.85 mbps speed on the 2.4 GHz band. This is a room where I could barely get any Wifi signal on a new Ipad. I am very happy with this product and would recommend it.

Good alternate to slower built in wi-fi
This is a great alternate if one has an old laptop with 300Mbps limit. I have Netgear R6300 AC1750 router that supposed to support up to 1300Mbps. It was consistently connecting with 867Mbps on 5GHz band. Download speed was ranged from 100Mbps to ~190Mbps compare to ~110-120Mbps using built-in.
However, it is not a replacement for 1Gbps wired connection that downloads above 600Mbps. I was hoping it would be as fast as wired or close to.
There may be compatibility issue with Windows 7. Installed on 2 Win 7 PCs and both crashed. It worked find after the reboot however. It did not crash Win 10 PC however.

A solid and easy to use wireless adapter.
Let me begin by saying the LINKSYS WUSB6300 WIRELESS-AC USB ADAPTER is a great product. I have an older laptop with a W-Lan Card and once I plugged in the Linksys WUSB6300 Wireless-AC USB Adapter, I was able to set it up within a minute and log into the internet without any problems. My laptop is now running faster on the internet and streaming and game play is much quicker and clearer than with my laptops built-in Lan Card. Set-up was quick, Windows 10 recognizes the Linksys WUSB6300 Wireless-AC USB Adapter with no need for the disk that came with the product.
I have suffered no connection drop-outs or reliability issues when connected to my dual band wireless router. Signal strength is good and transfer speeds were noticeably higher than using my laptops built-in Lan Card.
In summary, the LINKSYS WUSB6300 WIREELESS-AC ADAPTER is outstanding product that delivers a good solid performance. The LINKSYS WUSB6300 WIREELESS-AC ADAPTER delivers a decent 5GHz Wireless AC performance without any interference or stability issues, I would give it a rating of a solid 5 out of 5 Stars for me.

Frustratingly unreliable and overexpensive
Keeps dropping connection with the internet (not with router) without any event happening. It just stops working in the middle of movie/game/download. The forums say it has something to do with the windows 10 release which happened...3 YEARS AGO.
Anyway, i got it to work stable WITHOUT installing any linksys driver on win 10 but then it only got to speeds of 3mb/s. But I can get a wireless adapter for 10 euro's for that. I want my 100mbit/sec...any support i get is about resetting routers and other bs. All my devices in the house work perfect with my wifi setup. So yeah I guess its the last time i buy anything from Linksys. It's not the first time i get problems with the quality of their products.

Easy installation & great performance!
The AC1200 dual band wireless-AC USB adapter arrived by mail in late April 2016. Had been using 1 Gbit wired Ethernet and was anxious to see if the adapter would provide comparable performance. After a very straightforward installation, was able to connect up to the 5 GHz band of my wireless router without issue. Was very impressed with the performance. Didn't detect any lag or slowing down of streaming content relative to the wired Ethernet. My computer only has USB 2.0 ports, so wasn't able to take advantage of the USB 3.0 capability.
The AC1200 adapter installed without issue, and provides great performance. It comes up every time I log into my computer without issue. Now I no longer have to use Ethernet cable to get all the performance I want.

Adapter - Linksys WUSB6300 AC1200 Wireless-AC USB
I received the WUSB6300 AC1200 Linkssys Adapter several days ago. I found it very easy to install. I use it on my laptop to connect to my wireless network. The step-by-step instructions were very helpful. Perhaps it was as simple as I own a Linksys router as well but I believe it would be just as easy with any recommended router. The speed is hard for me to address as the laptop processor is a bit slow. However, over-all, I am most pleased with the Adapter and the speed that it provides..

A good product, but a little large
I bought this wireless adapter to use with my Inspiron 5749 laptop, because the network card that came with the laptop does not support 5G. The Linksys was easy to install and it works perfectly. I am using it with the USB 3.0 port to achieve maximum throughput speed. My only issue with the product is that it is quite wide, about 1" If I plug it into my USB 3.0 port, it also blocks the USB 2.0 port next to it. I solved the problem by buying a USB 3.0 hub and plugging the Linksys into that. It works fine; just cost me an extra $15 I didn't know I was going to have to spend.

Wi-Fi was two speed. So-So & So-Slow. Now VROOM!!!
My Windows 7 laptop, almost 18 months old always seemed slow when running Wi-Fi. Recently I obtained a wireless router with both 2.4GHz and 5GHz band network capabilities. After some research, I obtained the Linksys wireless dual-band USB adapter AC1200, WUSB6300. I was promised an easy installation with noticeable good results. The installation CD with minimal assistance / input from me completed the task. Following instructions on the screen, I plugged the Linksys WUSB6300 into the USB 3.0 port and entered my existing network password for the 5GHz band when told to. Then VROOM. My Wi-Fi moved like it was filled with high octane jet fuel. Attached is a screen shot of my first speed check and wow! I thought 27-30Mbps was a good day. Now I'm getting the speeds similar to my wired internet connection. It was so easy! I also like the two LEDs on the top of the Linksys WUSB6300. They provide useful info when looking at the at the adapter. The first for power/status, and the second for WPS/security. I can easily tell if I'm connected and secured without checking with my operating system. I continue to maintain a strong stable connection to the router, and have not dropped the link to my modem on the second floor since installing the software and adapter. Why did I wait? Don't make the same mistake I did. If your Wi-Fi is so-slow give it the needed upgrade. You will see and hear the difference in no time. Well worth the minimal investment. It took me more time to order the Linksys WUSB6300 online than the actual software installation and USB 3.0 port plug in.

The reason I purchased the USB adapter was to replace the built in adapter of my laptop. I decided to upgrade my laptop instead of replace it. I have replaced the hard drive with a SSD hard drive, added an additional 4 GB of Ram and of course the Linksys AC1200 USB adapter.
I now have a laptop that is comparable with the new version of the same laptop but at a much lower expense. Try the USB adapter, you will see a much improved response.

Delivers specified performance
A new in box WUSB6300 Wireless AC adapter was provided for my use and honest review. I am using the adapter to upgrade the built-in wireless n capability of a 4 1/2 year old medium priced laptop running Windows 10 to wireless AC. Installation consisted of inserting the included CD in the drive and running Setup (a few seconds), inserting the Linksys adapter in a USB 3.0 slot when prompted, selecting my wireless 5.0 GHz network from the list of available networks that appeared, selecting WPA2-Personal security and entering my network password. Connection was made in a few seconds.
I verified the connection and data transfer speed using the network status feature in the windows control panel. Data transfer rates ranged from the maximum possible 867 Mbps when within approximately 20 feet and 3-4 interior wall away from my wireless router; 650 Mbps at 50 feet; and approximately 250 Mbps at the extreme end of a 3000 square foot, single story house and about 90 feet and six interior walls away from the router. These readings compared favorably with the transfer speeds of my high-end tablet with built-in AC capability and eclipsed the 150 Mbps rate of the built-in 2.4 MHz wireless n capability of the laptop.
Browsing the internet has been smooth and fast. Streaming Live TV was flawless i.e. no stuttering or interruptions.
I have had this adapter in use for only a week therefore cannot attest to long term reliability but have no reason to doubt its future performance. I can say that before the install, it survived a three foot drop to a ceramic tile floor (my oops) without visible damage . It appears to be of good build quality. Performance of the adapter when installed in an USB 2.0 slot was not evaluated nor was its 2.4GHz capability other than noting its presence.
I did note an error message that blinked for an instant when the adapter connected to my network. The message indicated a conflict in that the AP (access point) and Wireless Adapter were on different channels which "may" impact performance. It was gone in a flash and apparently self healed if a conflict was actually present. The router (which is not a Linksys) is set to auto select channels and I suspect this may have been the cause. I have seen no indication of degraded performance; 867 Mbps is all there is.
I am pleased with this device.

Even improves a 3 Mbps modem connection
This review is of a complimentary Wireless-AC USB adapter from Belkin/Linksys.
The unit replaced an original built-in wireless connection, manufactured in 2005.
This upgrades the connection from 54 Mb to 300 Mb, at about 25 feet from the Cisco/Linksys EA-4500 router, through a (standard 6") supporting wall.
Effortless Installation--less than 5 minutes install time--NO equipment hitches.
Every test administered passed better than former wireless connection used.
Primary game used for testing--"Book of Treasures" from AOL. (Farmed this part out to my wife. She has complained about this game being slow for months.) The new adapter "did better, in that I could get the words in fast enough..."
Network Speed test by "OOKLA": Load program in less than 30 seconds..
Server ~50 miles Test #1 =2.88, #2=4.63, #3=2.88 on a 3 Mb DSL line.
Speed test normal ran about .05 above previous tests with the same laptop.
At approximately 50 feet through a Brick veneer exterior wall, the speed dropped about .05 on two tests of three, running nearly double on the second test (6.xx).
A note on the speed test: .05 is less variation than the daily fluctuations in the "normal DSL speed" here.
COMMENT(s): I have tested many commercial wireless applications in my career. Although I am retired, I retain my interest in the field.
The WUSB6300, has performed better than all except extremely high end wireless applications that I have used. I believe it to be a match for most of them.
Three tests in each location is an indication of overall performance of the Wireless link, not a guarantee of its speed. What it DID tell me, is that the WUSB6300 is a well-made, reliable piece of equipment that every serious computer and WI-FI user should have in their arsenal.
The details of the laptop would detract from this review, but they are available to verify the results.
Reliability cannot be determined in this short test time, however, Cisco/Linksy has been a part of my computer world for MANY years and I have yet to have a serious failure in any of their equipment.

Good adapter but too big awkward to setup
This WiFi adapter is very good. It works beautifully with my WRT1900 AC router from Linksys. It can operate on both the 2.4 and 5.0 GHz frequencies. The adapter comes with a CD such that the driver can be loaded onto the computer. That is a hassle. There has to be a better way to get a driver onto the computer--many laptops today do not include a CD drive. In my case, I have a portable CD Rom drive that plugs into an USB port on your computer and that is what I used to get the driver onto my laptop so I could use the adapter. The other thing I do not like is its size. It sticks out 3 inches from the USB port and is a bit over 1 inch wide. Those are my negatives. The positives are the adapter works great and has very good range in my 2 story home. It out performed the built in WiFi adapter in my laptop when I used the 5GHz band and was nearly identical in range and speed when using the 2.4GHz band. I received this adapter from Linksys without charge to provide this feedback. I would consider buying this product to add or improve WiFi on a device, but due to its size and hassle installing the device driver, I would likely shop around for a different product. However, if I could not find one at a comparable price, I would certainly purchase this one.

AC1200 Adapter Review - Well worth the money.
I received the AC1200 Wireless adapter approx. 2 weeks ago. The adapter was very easy to install, less than 5 minutes. At first the adapter worked great. However, I discovered the 2.4GHZ band would drop off as I moved my laptop further away from the router. I have had no problem with connectivity at 5.0GHZ. One of the best adapters I have used.

Easy to install. Excellent performance.
Installation was very easy. Insert CD, then when prompted, plug in adapter to any USB port. Once connected, an LED light on top of the adapter stays on. The other LED light
is for a Power/Status LED and flashes when there is wireless activity. In terms of performance, I was very impressed with the speed of the wireless adapter. I don't have any numbers to provide, but believe me, it is noticeable. I've tested it out for a few days and the connection has yet to drop

I was skeptical on getting this to increase the download speed of my laptop. I usually use it in the same roon as my router so I assumed I was getting downloads as fast as possible. I was wrong. This USB adapter has made downloads faster and I can take my laptop into any room and get my work done faster. It's awesome!

Does what it says
This is the second one I bought, first one for desktop PC working well. First one transferred from laptop when desktop repaired. Desktop has b/g/n, but USB 3.0 ports. Through Linksys EA6350 router. Then fixed laptop, and got this one for it, also b/g/n with USB 3.0 ports. Other laptop has AC built in already. All three run stably, and rare issues quickly fixed, usually by reboot. Even my spare Toshiba, with v.1 USB, will run it, and it transfers faster. On the desktop and laptop with these 6300 dongles, I have transferred files about 1.5 to 4 times faster than with b/g/n in USB 2.0 ports. Don't know enough to say why, but I time identical downloads on each setup to ensure I am getting money's worth. I do the same with my ISP (up to 60 Mbps, though I've gotten 74) to ensure I get what I'm paying for. This second one is a refurbished, and after 3 weeks, no problems. Original one has run for over 1 year with no more than minor issues, and again, I'm no tech expert.

I received product this about 2 weeks ago, both my son and I like to roam around the house, inside and outside and we would lose connectivity, this product changed all that, we are free to roam. Here are some results: Signal Strength: between 360 mbps - 470 mbps or so, Signal Stability: 95 -100%, I never lost connection roaming within reasonable distance. I am a linksys person so I might sound a little bias but their products simply works and re reliable..

Just didn't work
Brand new, wrapped in sealed plastic wrap, out of the box from Best Buy. Plugged it in. No lights. Tried a different USB port on the front of the tower. Nothing. Slipped the disc into the drive and started the software. It tried to find the LINKSYS AC1200 dongle, but couldn't. Stuck a plastic fork into the USB port and got exactly the same thing, only much cheaper. Not only would I not recommend this to a friend, I wouldn't recommend it to an enemy, either.

I try to use stick with several Linux machines... Ubuntu requires special drivers, that unfortunately are not supported by LinkSys company. I expect drivers from Linksys side that will open the full potential of the device for linux users. Please fix this. Should be quite easy, especially when some other developer already did the hard part and create on github a drivers for linux.
From Windows side - device acting really good. Windows 8.1 - no problems. Windows 10 x64 pro - standard windows drivers does not work, have to reinstall drivers by provided from linksys side.

Works a treat but so big!
I bought this adapter as I wanted something that would perform more effectively with my Linksys WRT-1900 ACS router than the on-board Intel Wireless adapter in my Dell Laptop. The WUSB6300 certainly does that and is simple to instal however it is so large it blocks access to a much needed USB port - thus reducing the number of ports available to me. I haven't tried a USB port extension which may solve the problem but I'm not keen to spend further money on an USB 3 compatible extender that may or may not work.
Surely Linksys could have made something smaller.

Works Great
I received the AC1200-AC USB from UPS yesterday. Prior to installing it, I ran speed tests for comparison. First I tested the speed using the computer's build in N adapter and got 33.84 mbps downloading and 22.66 mbps uploading. I then ran a 50 foot cable from my router to the computer and reran the speed test using the wired connection. The results were 85.26 mbps downloading and 22.46 mbps uploading. These results were consistent with speed tests I have done at other times.
I next installed the AC1200. Installation was quick and easy. You simply insert the CD that comes with the adapter and run the setup program on it. You need only accept the eula and tell Windows to allow the program to make changes to your computer, the rest is automatic.
Once installed, I again ran the speed test and got 50.67 mbps downloading and 25.9 mbps uploading. That is a 50% increase in downloading speed. An even better result may have been achieved had my computer had a USB 3 port instead of only USB 2 ports.
I did the tests on a laptop while sitting on my living room couch, a place where using a 5 gHz has been iffy at best. The AAC1200 not only was to connect to the 5 gHz but held it rock steady the rest of the day. I am very impressed.

Excellent upgrade for older laptop
Attached the Linksys AC1200 adapter to my older Windows 10 laptop that was setup for 802.11b/g/Draft-N wireless. Installation was quick and easy with the included CD. Connected to my 802.11ac router network and noticed a major wireless speed increase. Web pages loaded much faster and the social network games became playable again. Old setup was only capable of connecting to the 2.4GHz network with Windows showing a 72-117.0 Mbps connection. With the new adapter, connection to the 5GHz network was no problem and Windows indicated a 520-585.0 Mbps connection. No dropped connections during the testing and the small size of the adapter makes it idea for a portable laptop setup. Would recommend this adapter as a worthwhile upgrade for anyone looking to access faster wireless connections.

More testing to be done, but this might be one of the better wireless ethernet adapters I've tried. It was a free promotional item that I got from Linksys friends + family. Does what it supposed to do
There are times when I need the extended range from my router when my wife and I are using our laptops on our property, so we tried it out and easily got coverage of 250 feet without any problem. Installation was easy and quick. The only reason I gave it a 4 star was because of the adapter sticking out so far on the laptop. It may serve as an antenna, but it would be nice if it didn't have to poke out of the computer so much. For full disclosure, I received a free sample from Linksys in exchange for my honest feedback

I installed this on a 7 year old Sony Vaio win 7 OS. It installed flawlessly with good operation in less than five minutes including the check for updates during install. I am connected to a Linksys AC1200 Max Range Extender and achieving 780 Mbps on the average. I'm sure I could tweak the range ext settings to have more, but why change what is working well. This would also be good for a Desktop for an upgrade to a wireless connection. It connects well on boot up. I have not had any drop outs as of yet.

Huge Speed Increase, Love It!
I tested this product on my Dell laptop which was built in 2009 with older technology to connect to my home network. I have Comcast Blast for internet connection with a connection speed of at least 75 Mbps for downloads. With the Linksys USB adapter I received free to test, my laptop is now running at a download speed of 80 Mbps and 12 on uploads. The numbers using my build in network card were 10 Mbps and 5 Mbps. The Linksys adapter is SUPER fast. I have now purchased a Linksys adapter for my wife's laptop (which is newer). If you are not running the latest network card, I highly recommend the purchase of this adapter. Also, the install is very easy, just follow the simple directions that come with it. Range is great too. I can now take my laptop out to the patio and still connect at same speeds. I could not connect outside with the network card.

Fast network connection.
I bought my USB6300 for use with Windows 10 to connect to a Linksys WRT1900ACS knowing that the shipped driver does not support Windows 10 and AC speed connections. However, it uses the RealTek chip and there are Windows 10 drivers on the internet and sure enough one of them works! So until I get the updated driver from Linksys that enables AC speeds under Windows 10 I will use the borrowed driver, which does the job. Having said all of that, with an appropriate driver the WUB6300 really delivers. It provides a steadier AC connection than the two competing products I have and handles beams from both my range extender and my router. I split my bands into a 5Ghz and a 2.4Ghz network and with the USB6300 I am getting a steady 867mbs and I can use my wifi network to backup my all-in-one computer to a hard drive attached to my router. I could do that using an N connection, but full backups took too may hours. It is the right device for the job.
