Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great hardware Lenovo has come a long way and certainly changed the game with this AR wearable. After the recent announcement from QUALCOMM I realized how this device can change the landscape of AR/MR space. The projection is very clear and some where in 2K resolution and interestingly its light and versatile. The game changer was pulling regular apps on to the glasses in 3D space I really love that. I would like to see more 3D capable productivity apps on the app stores. The hardware delivers what it claims

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Horrible Support I purchased the think reality glasses, despite spending hours on the Lenovo website and with the phone support team, who by the way have never heard of the A3 glasses I got no where trying to get additional information on how to sign up to the think reality cloud portal.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Limited usefulness I bought this primarily to be a monitor replacement for my laptop. I agree with the other reviewer that the FOV is too limited, so that you can only see part of the screen right where you are looking at, and this is not what I was hoping for. If the FOV could be improved such that you could at least see one screen without having to move your head, it would be much better. Also, I never could get the product to work right on the Moto G100, as the screen was always split with the right half on the very left of the glasses, and the left half on the very right side. I ended up returning the device because of these issues, and the return process was super easy. So, if you're looking to try these, and can deal with the limitations, then I would recommend, and you can trust that Lenovo will refund your money if you run in to a hardware error such as I experienced on the Moto G100 they will have your back. Also, this device does work on any Windows PC that can run the monitor, not only Lenovo PC's, as some have asked.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Almost really good, but with some limitations. I wanted to love these and I almost do. Pros: I like the design. They are lightweight and the image quality is excellent. The tracking is pretty much spot on, and the sense of there being a virtual display hanging in space is solid. The text is easy to read and colors look great. The build quality of the hardware is very nice and the glasses feel pretty comfortable. Cons: On the downside the virtual monitory app on the PC version is not really usable because of the limited FOV of the display; it doesn't feel like looking at a big monitors, but more like looking through blinders at a little bit of a monitor at a time. It's easy to lose the cursor. The industrial version with the phone is nice but not really very functional. It only lets you look at 2D displays (only chrome and youtube. The software environment seems extremely limited. Only Unity is supported and even then it's a very complex set of steps to get something together. For something that is an early adopter product it would make sense to expose multiple development options. I personally would love to see WebXR supported. The phone itself runs WebXR perfectly but none of the sensor data is exposed from the A3 as far as I can tell. A final note: even thought the glasses seem light and comfortable there's a noticeable sense of relief when I take them off so there still some strain.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from AR glass with big and clear screen! I've tried many other AR glasses, most of them had a very small screen and are really difficult to read and operating on them is even worse. But for the A3 glass it really is different. The screen are for both eyes and are really clear. Things are easily read. Operation are also easy to learn with the gaze feature. You can do a lot of things on this glass!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I would look at other Options After using these for a few weeks. I couldn't give it anymore the 2 stars. The first star was for its lightweight design. Not bad compared to others. The other star was for how many screens you can add in the display. I was working with 9 screens. I know, crazy! Now for the problems. The refresh rate on these at 60hz is way too slow for just 1 display. As I looked around the one display it was a blurry image until I stopped moving. then it cleared up. If I added more screens, it just got worse. The cable that comes with the glasses are too short. No hand gestures didn't help. Trying to type was a pain. Had to keep lifting the glasses to see the keyboard. The unit also got hot on my head. I had to cool off every 30min. All jokes aside I would look at other Options.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dead product? No new updates?! The glasses are so nice. The frames are like the perfect size. Unfortunately the A3 glasses are functionally horrible. Customer service told me it is a dead product and the software will not receive any new updates. So uh…. Yeah. Done.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great software, but needs several improvements The software on the Virtual Desktop is actually quite impressive, and works exceptionally well. You can adjust the monitors with relative ease, and it's extremely cool to see them extend your existing setup. I'm a software developer who was extremely excited for the potential to use these things and not need to bring two extra monitors with me when I travel. Well, my hopes were dashed. There are two or three problems here which make this unusable for actual day-to-day use for anyone trying to create something of a remote virtual office. First: The field of view is just simply too small for any meaningful usage. I spent a long time trying to figure out what the actual field of view would look like, or how to picture it. Well, you can picture it like this: Put your arms straight out, exactly shoulder width, meaning don't move them left or right, just stick them straight out, palms facing each other. Your arms will create a gap that is about 16" or so wide. Now imagine that creates a square, about 16" by 16", at the end of your fingertips. THIS IS YOUR FIELD OF VIEW. This far away, and this big. It's relatively tiny. If you're trying to read any type of text, you won't be able to see the entire screen at once, of a single virtual monitor. You never realize how much peripheral vision helps in a multi-monitor setup until you try to work like this. It's cumbersome. Second: As briefly mentioned above, you just can't read text while keeping one entire monitor in the field of view. Which is to say that if you want text to be crisp, you have to "drag" the virtual monitor so close to you that it's just disorienting needing to move your head so much to see anything other than the center of that screen. I have 1080p physical monitors and I do not believe that these replicate the crispness of a physical 1080p monitor, sorry. The text test just doesn't add up. Third: Comfort. These are not "heavy", but they are definitely uncomfortable to wear for any extended period of time (1 hour+). There could be more thought into how they could be more gently propped on the forehead (like the hololens' forehead padding). The nose-pieces are also surprisingly less-than-comfortable. They aren't bad, they're just bad for glasses of this weight. They aren't quite cushioned, which is more than necessary given the heftiness here. Fourth: You can't use your existing monitor while wearing these. Sorry. The glasses create an environment that is too dark. I was under the impression that I could have my monitor open and have my virtual monitor above, and everything would be grand. Well, you "can" do this, but you will have quite a hard time seeing your physical monitor. The tint on the glasses is too severe. It is again very disorienting trying to do such a thing. I honestly have never been more excited to leave these triple-physical-monitors behind, and I was so ready to have an amazing virtual office for a more remote or nomadic lifestyle, but this came so far from fitting the bill. It's an amazingly exciting peek into what will be possible in the future, but it's just not ready yet. I'm happy to see how simple the Virtual Desktop Software was, and I was thrilled that it worked on my non-lenovo laptop. If you're looking to replace your desktop monitors while travelling or working remote, this isn't going to cut it, but I sincerely hope that Lenovo continues improving these glasses because the thought of creating a completely virtual office is mind-blowingly cool, and exceedingly valuable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Doesn't work with Lenovo's own laptops. Bought a Lenovo laptop. Was told by Lenovo customer support that the glasses should be compatible with the laptop. Didn't work. All I got was a fuzzy virtual screen. Even tried replacing the cable. No joy. Lenovo customer service's only help option was to return the glasses. Sent the glasses back. Got a different brand of glasses, had no problems.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Difficult process and compatible issues I think the glasses didn't seem to work right. It would also be helpful if the mentioned computer system they were compatible with, right up front. Say not for apple products. I did not see that information on Lenovo, up front and clearly. It also would be helpful if they had a startup/how to video and show what we should be seeing, to make sure we are doing it right. I sent the glasses back.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Difficult to setup These smart glasses had limited use due to the requirements in order to use them. It seems that a Lenovo pc is required to use these glasses. I have a pc that meets the requirements and the glasses did it work. I returned the glasses, never able to get it to work.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Experience! Few things I really like about ThinkReality A3 is it’s very lightweight and the quality of content rendered inside the glasses is top-notch. Another great thing I liked about it is the A3 AppSpace which allows me to launch 3 different android applications at the same time and give really great experience. I can watch a video on youtube on one window and can see the shared screen if I am on a team’s call on another window.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic Device Being able to take my multiple monitor setup on the go is a game changer. I primarily work between three locations, our main plant, our new plant jobsite, and my home office. Previously I always felt less productive when I was away from my home office and my multiple screens. Now I'm able to take that with me no matter where I go. The A3 is extremely comfortable, even for extended periods. Though they do get warm after a while.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Limited functionality/Questionable design choices Good: - Feels like a premium product on my face but hinge for left temple is slightly wobbly - Satisfactory for watching videos and browsing web - VDM app allows you to adjust screen size and depth, extend your Windows Desktop to 3 virtual monitors, and switch between virtual monitors that stay in place (SLAM mode) and one that moves with your head movement (Vehicle mode - though there's a warning that says this mode causes damage to the glasses for some reason) Bad: - Very small FoV - Not good for reading unless you adjust to a satisfactory level - Games run slow unless you have a beefy PC - The cable that comes with the glass gets really hot running the VDM program after prolonged use and still remains warm even when the VDM app is not running - VDM app often displays a checkerboard pattern when switching presets (have to reset by closing program or unplugging/plugging cable) - Spawns processes that run alongside VDM and continue to run after closing VDM - Does work with Windows tablet machines but VDM disables the touch screen keyboard making it totally useless - Vehicle mode only extends primary monitor and doesn't mirror primary monitor Ugly: - Unusual requirement of being compatible only with a specific brand of phone (Motorola) - Even if you happen to have a Motorola phone, connecting it to the glass causes the display to mirror in the reverse order (left lens displays right half of screen, right displays left half) making it completely useless for the phone it was designed for! (NOTE: apparently this is intended behaviour and you have to open a ticket with Qualcomm for them to register your phone in order to get the "update" or "apps" that allow you to "mirror" or "extend" your phone to browse chrome or youtube; that is if they respond). Seems like a hassle to go from Lenovo->Motorola->Qualcomm just to mirror the phone it was designed for! - SDK works on Motorola phones if you are a hobbyist wanting to experiment with AR/VR/XR apps although the sample apps Qualcomm provides are choppy, slow, and real janky! The phone and cable gets really hot and battery drains quickly after running the sample apps. Can't also play with any webXR/webAR apps in Chrome since the display is oddly split as described above. This product just doesn't work out of the box and requires an unnecessary amount of red tape just for a satisfactory experience. No idea who the audience is, why this is being sold to the public and why the odd requirements, strange behaviors, design choices, severely restricted functionality and poor performance but if you want virtual monitors for PC or phone look the other way.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good but a little gimmicky This is based on my experience of the ThinkReality A3 Smart Glasses for a few hours. While my experience was limited due to my need for corrective lenses, I have some thoughts to share. What I Like: Triple Display Anywhere: The ability to have three virtual displays wherever you are is incredibly impressive. It adds a new level of productivity and convenience. Build Quality: The glasses feel solid and well-constructed, giving a sense of durability. Concept/Novelty: The idea of smart glasses with such advanced features is exciting and innovative. What I Dislike: Weight: The glasses are quite heavy, which becomes uncomfortable, especially during extended use. Inability to Wear Prescription Glasses: Even the smallest frames of my prescription glasses do not fit under the ThinkReality A3, which is a significant drawback for those who need corrective lenses. Price of Prescription Lens Inserts: The cost of the proprietary prescription lens inserts is quite high. Availability in Canada: Unfortunately, no Canadian retailer currently provides the proprietary lens inserts, making it difficult to fully utilize the glasses. Overall, the ThinkReality A3 Smart Glasses have a lot of potential, but there are some significant hurdles for those who require corrective lenses. If these issues are addressed, they could be a game-changer in the world of smart glasses.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A3 Smartglasses, Not quite there yet! These glasses are really a great leap forward in bringing augmented reality to the workplace. The potential here is huge. However, they are in the infancy stage of what they can do. I purchased these to give myself the ability to have multiple screens when i was working in the field or travelling. First lets talk about the physical quality of the A3 Smart glasses. They are very sturdy, and have a bit of weight to them. They do not feel cheaply build. The charging cable it came with can be a bit short and does feel a bit tedious at times when you tangle yourself up. You will feel the heat that is generated from these glasses and prolonged use can be a tad uncomfortable from the heat. The one big problem on the hardware i have is the viewing space. You can create big virtual screens to work from however viewing them is like having 2 square cutouts your looking thru. This means you either scale the screens really small or you are moving your head a lot to move along the screen. Now the software and quality of the image. The primary screen unfortunately is just a mirror of your main screen. This cannot be changed and feels a bit pointless. They should have left the main screen on your laptop and let you form independent screens around this. The other really big pet peeve I have with these is the ability to adjust the screens. They have tilt and and swivel control which is great. However, they ignored the fact that when you turn your head the angle you view the screen at is not ideal. They should have provided a way to rotate the angle of your screens so they are not 90 degrees. The other part of the display that is frustrating is where you can place the screens. It is not really free motion and seems to snap to specific areas making it difficult to fine tune where your virtual screens are. The one thing i do like is the image quality. It really is quite sharp. Paired with my P15 Gen2 I get a fairly decent 4k primary screen resolution and the secondary screens are 1920x1080 which is not bad. Being able to have portrait or landscape screens is quite a nice feature. Another side note, they ability to pair it with a smartphone is great and sounds like the experience is much better then when on a laptop is great, except they only pair with Motorola phones. This is disappointing since many of us do not use those phones. I really hope they open this up to other powerful smartphones in the future. Overall I like the direction that Lenovo is going with their new A3 smart glasses and augmented reality for business use however, I do not think they are worth the large price tag they come with at this time. Give Lenovo a few years to really dial in the hardware and software before you consider them for real business use.
