55 The Lenovo t550 is a great product line. By default the computers we got can push 3 monitors (with the Ultra dock). This has really made people happy. November 12, 2015
55 Best work laptop I've had. I have the i7 and 16GB RAM installed, with a SSD...it flies man. No hiccups, very powerful, and great range on the wifi. November 4, 2015
35 This is a great little machine, very powerful and easy to use. I really liked how big the touch pad was, and how simple it was to turn off and on, so I didn't bump it with my palms. A great useful computer. June 1, 2015
55 With the end of support for XP we are upgrading the last few machines that we have left. We decided to go with the flexibility of the T550’s, we are using two as desktops with docking stations. They give us the power that we need to run all of our applications and the flexibility to take them everywhere. We have several T530’s and T540’s and have had no issues. They are a very solid and well-designed laptop for business and with the optional docking station it is more than capable of replacing your desktop. May 27, 2015
55 We've been using ThinkPads since the T40p days (circa 2003) for our Police and Fire departments. As the newly hired IT guy in 2007, one of my first jobs was to update/replace those old, but still used T40s. I looked at all of the major 'rugged' manufactures, got recommendations for most of the major brands from my peers, but in the end made the decision to stick with Lenovo. After the decision was made and the T400's were in production, I was actually part of a 'review' back in 2009 for the T400 series....that's my hand in the cop car pic here: http://notebooks.com/2009/02/24/thinkpads-get-tough-meet-mil-spec-standards/That said, I still stand by Lenovo ThinkPads today, and the T550's we currently have in production have proven to be as good as the T series has always been. Every 4 years during our replacement cycle, I DO look at other brands, that's my job, to consider all the options available to us, but I always come back to Lenovo. Feature set for the price point just simply can't be matched, IMHO.I do carry the 5 year bumper-to-bumper warranties (as a one person shop this is essential to me) and the service center techs are always courteous and get me the parts I need ASAP. That said, in the 8 years as IT Director, I've only had to call service maybe 10 times....most is due to user issues (dropped laptops, spilled coffee) or the VERY occasional dead harddrive (maybe 2 instances out of 75+ laptops cycled through over the years).
