Most of our infrastructure is configured with them. Recently, there have been discussions about changing them, but we've been using them extensively. What is most valuable? Switching to HPE Ethernet Switches greatly improved our network. We used to have both Cisco and HPE Ethernet Switches. Our network performance has increased by 300 percent. What needs improvement? Sometimes, we encounter the need for new technologies, especially when we require higher bandwidth. If we can't find what we need with HPE Ethernet Switches, we explore options from other vendors like Cisco. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? The tool is scalable. How are customer service and support? The solution's technical support is good. Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch? We're not currently using Cisco. We used a mix of HPE Ethernet Switches and Cisco in the past but ultimately opted for HPE. How was the initial setup? The solution's deployment is easier than Cisco's. Cisco deployment can be challenging primarily due to its complex configuration process. Accessing certain features may not be straightforward, which adds to the difficulty. Our entire company network is run by those switches. So, it's for internal Ethernet. We use it for almost everything. What is most valuable? They are running very robustly, so they handle the default tolerance. What needs improvement? There is room for improvement in the update process, especially the web UI update process, is very, very slow. That should be improved. In future releases, I would like to see zero downtime updates. Currently, when I do updates on a certain website, I have to restart the entire device, which makes it hard to keep network connectivity going. For how long have I used the solution? I have been using this solution for five years. What do I think about the stability of the solution? I would rate the stability a solid ten out of ten. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? It is definitely scalable. I would rate the scalability a nine out of ten. Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch? We actually looked into three companies, HPE, Dell, and Ubiquiti, during our initial setup. We made our decision for HPE because the price value was quite competitive. Even though at some point, they were more expensive than Dell's tools, they had some advantages in terms of stability and availability as well. How was the initial setup? The initial setup was actually straightforward. The onboarding was quite easy. You just have to learn some command line codes, which are very well documented. So with some experience, it was an easy task to do. The initial deployment took me about three months throughout the entire company. We're talking about thousands of switches. Which other solutions did I evaluate? We also have Ubiquiti. We use them in our branch offices as a connection throughout the office network because they are very easy to manage. It's one of the best UI experiences I've had in the past years. What other advice do I have? I recommend that you talk to the folks from HPE. They have real knowledge of what they are doing. They don't see you as a typical customer; they see you as a partner. So they went pretty far with engineering and ingenuity, which took me very, very far. What needs improvement? The management of the tool must be improved. The add-on tools and management of Cisco are better than those of HPE. For how long have I used the solution? Users connect to these switches to access other corporate resources. We deployed them for LAN switching across the organization. They do quite well in terms of both functionality and configuration. How has it helped my organization? HPE switches have supported our data center connectivity and improved our office network operations. They do quite well when it comes to switching. We also use their wireless products, but the integration between them can vary. However, the switching functionality and configuration are both very good. They facilitate easy connectivity between data centers and between data centers and campus networks. They are an integral part. It was very easy to integrate the HPE switches with our existing network infrastructure. What is most valuable? Compared to other vendors, their support really stands out. They're always willing to help with expansion support needs and understand customer concerns well. They're eager to help, which I always adore and admire about HPE. Additionally, their products are very stable and easily scalable. HPE Ethernet Switches are very reliable. While some smaller products might not have dual power supplies, they typically offer redundant power supplies and CPUs depending on the model and requirement. Overall, they are quite reliable. What needs improvement? Some users might look for high-speed switching like Cisco or Nexus switches, which can handle larger volumes. HPE's current offerings aren't as robust in that area, but they could improve. So, HPE could offer higher-end products for data center and LAN connectivity. For how long have I used the solution? The most valuable product is the unmanaged HP switch. What needs improvement? The price could be more competitive, and the product needs to improve its stability. Also, the solution would be easier to set up if its GUI could improve or if it had a wizard. Similarly, it would be easier to set up if the user manual could be more straightforward. HPE is very reliable because it has a lifetime warranty, so the switches didn't give us any problems. We were planning on replacing our switches with new HP ProCurve switches. The solution is very straightforward for HPE users. It is not difficult to configure. What needs improvement? The pricing could be better. For how long have I used the solution? We've used HPE Ethernet Switches for about ten years. What do I think about the stability of the solution? The switches have been stable since we put them in there. HPE gives a lifetime warranty on their switches because they know they're reliable. We have never had a single issue with HPE switches being offline or being upgraded and not working again. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? The solution is very scalable. Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch? We've used D-Link switches for smaller offices. How was the initial setup? It's a very straightforward solution because it is not that difficult to configure. HPE was much simpler to set up than FortiGate. It didn't take a long time to set up. What about the implementation team? We implemented the solution in-house. What was our ROI? The product's pricing is high, but you always get your ROI. It has served me for ten years without trouble. Which other solutions did I evaluate? We transitioned to Fortinet due to a company policy that came in to change from HPE to Fortinet. However, at the HPE level, I don't think Fortinet is on the same level. You won't compare HP with Fortinet. If you're going to compare HPE, then you have to go to Cisco Enterprise. But we try to stay just a little bit below the very high-level enterprise systems that HPE and Cisco have. What other advice do I have? I rate HPE Ethernet Switches a ten out of ten. I recommend the product to everybody who wants to use it. HPE gives you a lifetime warranty on their switches, promising to fix them any time they break down. That tells you the product is reliable. The pricing could be better, but I don't blame them for their price. HPE is not a small-business switch, especially the ProCurve switches, which are a bit expensive. Cisco prices are also not cheap, so I'm sure it's because of the competition. If HPE should make their prices a bit cheaper while Cisco keeps their price up there, it implies that Cisco is much more reliable than HPE. For competition's sake, reducing their price might not be something that can be done unless it can still be competitive at that level. Which deployment model are you using for this solution? We use them for network traffic, web servers, and a variety of other things. They've been working very well for us. What is most valuable? It has been very reliable for us compared to other Chinese products. I'm a power user, so reliability is crucial. The HPE equipment hasn't failed on me, unlike some other brands like Huawei, which I find more sensitive. HPE is very rugged, and we haven't encountered any issues with them. It's a solid product. The performance is good, but it definitely depends on the user and how they utilize the equipment. So, it relies heavily on the IT team. For our needs, it's good enough and sufficient. We have more availability and even additional nodes, so we haven't faced any issues. What needs improvement? The price could be cheaper. There is room for improvement in pricing. One box shouldn't require additional installations. We need a package deal with licenses that are usable for different tasks. Right now, we need a license for every additional feature, which adds up. Ideally, some built-in licenses would be great. Because by buying extra HPE licenses, the product becomes expensive. The box itself is cheap, but the licenses become very expensive. For how long have I used the solution? I have been using it for eight years. What do I think about the stability of the solution? The stability is good. We've been using them for the past two years without any single point of failure. I would rate the stability a nine out of ten. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? It is a scalable solution. I would rate the scalability a seven out of ten because it depends on various factors like the network, users, and administrators. But for my work and performance, it's more than enough. There are around 40 to 50 end users using this solution in our company. We do have plans to increase the usage because as the company grows, user numbers will also increase. How are customer service and support? The customer service and support are good. Whenever we have any questions, the answers are always readily available. Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch? How was the initial setup? The initial setup is straightforward. What about the implementation team? We use the in-house team. Around 12 people in the deployment team, including managers, admins, engineers, and developers. We even have some interns. The deployment is simple. For deployment, we always use HPE recommendations for infrastructure, racks, cooling, and power. We always do our installations and implementation based on HPE recommendations, so we didn't face any problems. Our network is not very big; it just has 50 nodes, so we didn't face any problem. What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? The box itself is cheap, but when we have to install new features, it becomes very expensive. Which other solutions did I evaluate? My network is quite large. Currently, I'm working with educational institutions researching various switch brands, including HPE, Dell, Lenovo, Cisco, and even some Chinese brands. While other products might offer similar features, I find HPE to be the most reliable. HP servers, switches, and routers are generally superior, in my opinion. Cisco is dominant in my country. Most users prefer them over HP. However, HP is gaining traction. I use Layer 3 switches, and Cisco performs well, too. But for me, it lacks a certain guarantee of reliability that I find with HP. Overall, it's a good product. What other advice do I have? I only recommend two products. It is mainly HPE. Sometimes, the other one is Huawei. Overall, I would rate the solution a seven out of ten because there is room for improvement in pricing. Based on my experience with various switches over the past six years, I recommend going for a reliable product with good service backup. The management and configuration of HPE are very easy. What needs improvement? The cost could be better. HPE has to study it carefully with other vendors in the market, like Cisco or Juniper. For how long have I used the solution? I have been using it for more than 12 years. What do I think about the stability of the solution? The product is really stable. We are very satisfied with the product. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? It is scalable. You can integrate it with other switches, like Cisco or other brands, easily. I have about 250 users. We don't have an increase in users recently. We are a small hospital. How are customer service and support? The customer service and support are fast. When we open a ticket, they answer directly, sometimes on the same day, even though our contract is for next-business-day support. Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch? I didn't use other brands from other vendors. I only use switches from HPE, and they are really good. How was the initial setup? For me, it was not complicated because I am familiar with networking. It is quite easy to manage. If there is a problem, I can easily figure it out. What was our ROI? The management is very effective for us to work on these switches. What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? Subscription is okay for me. I take a three-year subscription. My contract is three years. What other advice do I have? I have a Wi-Fi system that I've been using for a few months. It's very nice and covers all you need. Most of the features are included in that system. I used to be an employee at a company that was a reseller for HP and obtained some networking certifications, such as Master HPE. For the last ten years, I have been working as an engineer with customers, setting up networks and devices with HP or Aruba solutions. How has it helped my organization? HPE Ethernet switches support some parts of our network infrastructure well, but other parts not so well. What is most valuable? HPE Ethernet switches perform quite well and last for a long time. They are robust and have a low frequency of breaking down or failing. What needs improvement? The initial support from HPE was not good. Also, the Aruba and HPE Comware operating systems are incompatible in many ways. For how long have I used the solution? I have experience with HPE Ethernet Switches for about ten years.
