HP 17bII+ Financial Calculator is rated 3.9 out of 5 by 88.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from remarkably powerful and easy to use I have had a 12C for some time but this 17bii+ is a much easier to use interface. The drop down menu feature gets you right to the functions you need depending on the context. The calculator is also attractive in design. It takes little time to master the menus and crunch the numbers you need to crunch.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Buttons are not reliable. For 22 yrs. I have loved my HP 12C. I've owned two. They were quick, reliable, accurate and dependable. This past year I had to buy a new one. I saw many comments on the buttons and how they weren't as responsive as in the past. I would have thought HP would have addressed the issue by now. But they had not.The disappointment is that the buttons are not responsive as they were in the past. This hurts my productivity. I've had to slow to a crawl on entering data to make sure the digits are properly registering. Even then, it will still miss. Too many times as I hit the buttons to store data in the financial register or in memory, it turns out that data never registered, and therefore when I run my calculations, I get wrong answers or errors. I want to love my HP12C again. I would hope HP will address this issue and fix the buttons. We have to have confidence that when we hit a button it accurately and quickly records what we intended.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best business and personal calculator! Once you get used to RPN, you won't want to go back to a conventional calculator. The finance functions are great for my business and for my personal finances.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Died after a couple hours use Similar to other reviewers, my new 12C lasted only a very short time before any key on one whole side of the keyboard would either cause an error or simply turn the calculator off. My old 11C has been going strong since I bought it in college 35 years ago (made in USA), and I use it every work day. Made in China 12C made it a few hours - nearly DOA. Tried new batteries and re-setting to no avail.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product for the price This unit replaces a previous unit I had for over ten years when the display started to go. Could not be without the calculator and the programming capability with the financial functions.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I have been using an HP-12c calculator since 1971. My 1971 HP-12c was finally retired a couple of years ago. Its only problem was the "2" button was faulty. I had purchased a "Platinum HP-12c" about three years ago to replace my original 12c. The pillow switches below the keys failed right away. By that time HP quit servicing the calculators. Stupidly, I bought another Platinum 12c and it too was defective in just months. I could not survive without a trusty HP 12-c and bought another one of the original 12-c design just recently. It seems to work alright and my fingers are crossed that it will finally take its place as the reliable HP calculator that was my side kick for so many years.
