Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful! I replaced my old Epson scanner and was very pleased that new scanner had the same quality and better features. I was able to place multiple pictures on the flatbed scanner, the scanner had auto fix features, and I was able to loadi scanned items to different files in the cloud.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Being able to turn my 2 1/4 in negatives into prints I've had my Epson V550 for about two weeks now and have been using it a lot. The saner dose an excellent job on all of my prints and negatives. I have old photos in color and they need color correction which the Epson dose a great job of restoring the color to original well done. When I first got the Epson I went to You Tube and looked at videos on just how to use the Epson V550 you will learn a lot from them. I have scanned over one thousand negative now and as you use the scanner you will get faster with it. Some of my negatives are over fifty five years old and 'm just over joyed at being able to bring them back to life.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Ok When I do get it to scan, it appears to do a good job if I’m just trying to post something online. When trying to scan a matte picture, it does not remove the ripples well. And not impressed with color restoration, to be honest. I am at finding it more difficult to work with than expected based on reviews. I also get an error that says it’s diconnected everytime I try to scan something large in professional mode. So if someone is good at this stuff, maybe they can figure it out. For a novice, not so easy.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good, but.. This scanner is good, but sometimes it doesn't work as billed. You are supposed to be able to place several photos at once on glass, and as long as they are at least .8" apart, scanner is supposed to reconige as separate photos and make a file for each. But about 1/3 of the time, it doesn't work like that and will add two photos to one file, even if they are 3" apart! Very frustrating! I've read the PDF manual, but no help. Cleaned glass and white sheet, but no help. Intermittent it works, just not consistent.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Scanner for the Price! I purchased for scanning of artwork, photographs, slides, transparencies and film negatives. It handles all with great results. The back lit area is considerably smaller than the full scanner bed (about 2 1/2" of the 8 1/2 full area) which limits the size of film or transparencies. It will scan four 35mm slides in one pass and at great resolution.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works very well Bought it to scan old photos. (Some over 100 years old) does an excellent job.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Scans multiple photos to different files. Love the features of this printer -- scanning multiple photos to separate files and scanning negatives -- but you can't scan and do anything else. If you try to edit photos already scanned while other photos are scanning, you have to turn the scanner off and back on to reset it. Makes editing take longer but for the scan feature to separate files is worth it. Quality is very good.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good equipment, poor software I'm a long-time user of HP flatbed scanners. This was my first Epson. I liked the scanner just fine, but I'm disappointed in the software. I'm not finding it very easy to use. The design is not intuitively obvious on functionality. I think a re-design of the software would make this a 5 star winner.
