The Cisco UCS 6200 Series fabric interconnects are a core part of the cisco unified computing system, providing both network connectivity and management capabilities for the system. The Cisco UCS 6200 Series offers line-rate, low-latency, lossless 10 Gigabit Ethernet, Fiber Channel over Ethernet (FCoE), and fiber channel functions.

The Cisco UCS 6200 Series provides the management and communication backbone for the Cisco UCS B-Series blade servers and 5100 Series blade server chassis. All chassis, and therefore all blades, attached to the Cisco UCS 6200 Series fabric interconnects become part of a single, highly available management domain. In addition, by supporting unified fabric, the Cisco UCS 6200 Series provides both the LAN and SAN connectivity for all blades within its domain.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I appreciate the interface for UCS as it makes it much easier to manage specific scopes without having to go to the command line on a console. But you still need the console; I did not appreciate that I had to locate a port replicator and rollover cable to connect to the fiber interface.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from We use the Cisco UCS blades as a set of 6 Hypervisors using VMware, tied to NetApp SAN storage over FC and iSCSI.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The mother of our servers pod. This server system is quite heavy. Configuring it also quite difficult, but afterwards, its start to perform just like any ordinary servers, but with all the Cisco feature build around it. let say FCoE, best thermal dissipation, and rock solid performance and stability. Installed using vmware ESXi designed specific for cisco UCS.
