Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very strong bonding tape I use the tape for my projects, some posts commented on the difficulty to remove the backing tape. I use tweezers and work on one corner, carefully lifting the tape while pushing the adhesive tape down. Once a large enough piece of tape has been cleared, it is easy to remove the remaining tape. It takes some patients and some practice. It works best on flat non-porous surfaces. Removing the taped object can become problematic, therefore I often use several small pieces that are more easily removed. This is a fabulous product if applied and used properly. I wonder if putting objects, that are bonded with this tape, into the freezer to then separate them more easily. So also read about the useful temperature range. I'll try that next... I read that some users had bad experiences, this tape will work, if properly used. Again, only use it to bond flat surfaces to flat surfaces, any curvature may make it fail. The surfaces have to be smooth, oil-free and dry. You can't use it to fasten a doughnut to a tree in freezing weather, to give a silly example.

Adhesion is not an issue but, the removal process of the tape backing to expose the 2nd side is near impossible. I gave up and had to purchase a different product from a different brand to finish my job.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Works amazingly indoors or out, especially with metal to metal contact. Make sure to warm it in the sun before peeling and USE A RAZOR to cut the tape and peel the backing off. You cannot do it with your fingers

Getting the backing off is like quantum physics ... by the time you get a corner to start peeling you have stretched and mangled half the piece of tape in the process. The only way the term "industrial" applies to this tape is the way it sticks to my fingernails while trying to fight with the backing. Otherwise it doesn't stick to anything. I wouldn't trust it to hold 30 oz let alone 30 lbs. Thankfully I discovered its poor reliability before I mounted anything of value that was destroyed falling in the floor.

I've had a neon sign that I couldn't find any hook or anything else to properly hang it in my kitchen and using this double-sided mounting tape let me finally do it! The sign was only a few pounds but the hooks I ordered would just come immediately off the wall. I like this mounting tape because it works on the concrete wall I was working with and is removable. My husband promptly stole the rest to use in his hobby shop!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good product, limited use I received this product free in exchange for my honest opinion. I tried to use this tape, but it didn't work out for me. I followed the directions to the best of my ability, but the amount of tape required for the weight of my object exceeded the surface are of my object-- you have to put a certain number of inches of tape based on how heavy your object is. I think this product would work well on a larger, lighter object than what I attempted. Instead, I made a bigger problem for myself (not the tape's fault, I was using it as a hail Mary, but alas, Mary did not hail. I knocked a star off because not all heavy objects are large in surface area, so I don't find it that useful.)

It work wonderful & very strong. I had to press for few minutes per instruction on the package. Really love this tape.

IMHO… I used it to temporarily mount a fan to blow my neighbor’s cat, gas and other foul smells (to which they have OBVIOUSLY gone nose blind!,) AWAY from my kitchen window. Works well and is holding up through the rain we’re having. Building a privacy fence soon and looking forward to having it hold up a privacy wall extension! Thanks 3M for this product.

I had a picture frame that I wanted to put up but the metal “hanger” piece was missing. When I got this product it said you could use on walls so I thought I would try to use it to hang up my frame. I put two pieces on the frame to the right and the left and then pressed against the wall. I held it firmly for about a minute to make sure it was going to stick and it worked great! I like the idea of not putting holes in my wall too in case I decide I wanted to move the picture elsewhere. I can honestly say that I would recommend this product to my family and friends. Next I’m going to try it on some smaller barn quilts I made for my shed because it says you can use it inside or outside.

It was very easy to use and really held the posters in place. I've had problems in the past with items moving when I place the glass on top, they didn't move and I trust they will stay put!

It sticks well and I didn't have a problem with it. I will try to remove it from my painted drywall in about a week to see if there was any damage to the wall.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from worked well 3M gave me a free sample of this product to evaluate. I wanted yo use this tape for organizing my kids’ sports gear. at the garage. I hate these gears and sports bags were on the floor, so I needed this tape. This tape worked very well. It held most of gears, bags. I held only light ones, like almost empty bags, helmets, so I am not sure that this tape will hold up to 30lb. But I am happy to see very organized garage.

When I received it, I looked around the house and found a bunch of stuff that needed to be mounted. For example, I always had this electric strip that was wobbling around. I put this scotch mount double-sided tape on it and it wobbles no more The tape is very stretchy. Very adhesive and very functional

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Waiting to check out the long-term results. After receiving this item I wasn’t sure how I was going to use it to try it out. So it sat on my counter waiting. It is after all one of those types of products you keep around for just in case at least in my house. Or you go out and get it for a specific purpose. And lo and behold, a use appeared as my broom holder in my laundry room fell off the wall, and I had no other methods available to rehang it. So I grabbed this product, cleaned off the back of the broom holder, cut a piece off and stuck it up on the wall. Put the broom back in and now I wait and hope that it stays and doesn’t fall back off the wall. if it doesn’t stay well, I will adjust my review but for now it’s good. Because It doesn’t feel super sticky. I’m a little worried. It won’t last very long but time will tell.

Very easy to use hold on well I will definitely be buying this in the future for any of my projects that I need to hang items without screws or nails.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super sticky & easy to work with I had two wooden canvas pictures that needed to be re-hung because the generic command type strips I had bought would not hold them. So it was perfect timing that this product came to me. It did not take very much to hold these. One is significantly heavier than the other, so I did use 2 3" pieces on the one canvas print. Easy to cut, easy to put on and stick up on the wall. No hammer & nails needed. It worked out perfect! I will be trying this on my brick on our porch once I power wash the pollen off of it. I can't wait to try it out on my summer decorations that I have been wanting to put on the porch. It says it works on brick, I will try it and write another reveiw!

I cleaned the wall and used the tape to install it. I waited a minute for it to adhere well before I started plugging stuff in. I waited a couple of days to see if it truly held since it's a textured wall. It held up pretty good.

I like that the package is very clear about how much weight it can handle and it wasn't lost in the fine print. I will be interested to see the entire weight range and try some higher and lower weights and see how I could be worked into regular use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works GREAT I'm finding so many uses for this mounting tape! I did receive it as a sample to review, but I know I'll be buying more of it. We have a 3 season back porch, and I've tried SO many tapes and hook and loop tapes to mount an electrical cord on the ceiling from a fan to an outlet. Everything else has failed in a short amount of time. This is staying put, finally! We also recently got a camper, and I tried to mount a paper towel holder using hook and loop, but it failed as well. I used this tape, and it's staying put as well! I like that it's easy to cut with sissors, easy to peel the liner off, and best of all it actually WORKS.

I used it to mount a security camera to the aluminum siding of my house. It is under the eave so it is out of the weather and sun. It was easy to use but so far I don't have enough time to report on the durability. I'm happy that I didn't have to use the mounting screws to permanently leave holes in my siding.

Pros: Strong Adhesion: The tape effectively held items in place, such as securing drinks to the table to prevent them from being knocked over by wind. Weather Resistance: Performed well in outdoor conditions, maintaining its hold even in varying weather. Cons: Difficult Removal: When it came time to remove the tape, it was challenging to peel off, leading to damage. Surface Damage: Attempting to remove the tape from poster boards resulted in tearing, rendering the boards unusable. We live in Florida, so the humidity during the summer is quite high, regardless of where we are in the house. The board has been up for a couple of weeks now, and the tape still feels very secure and is holding up nicely. I don’t have a lot of weight on the tape right now, but I do ‘lean’ on the board while writing, so the tape has added pressure changes throughout the week from writing and erasing the board. It has held up nicely so far, so we are planning on getting more to hang up some tools in the garage.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super sticky I used this mounting tape to mount my house numbers on my house. I don’t like putting screws and nails into my siding so this seemed like the perfect fit. I cleaned the siding very well before adding the tape. It seems to be holding up pretty well. I had a couple of small pieces that I added that came unstuck but the area where I used a large strip it is staying on super tight. So far it is working great and i absolutely love that I didn’t have to add new holes into my siding. I only added the small pieces for extra support but I think it was unnecessary so that doesn’t change how I feel about the product working. I would suggest using as large of piece as you can on whatever you are trying to hang to get the best stick.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Disappointed I bought this to hang a decorative shelf. I used all the roll on the back of the shelf except for about 3 inches. Shelf is maybe 10lbs tops. The shelf fell off in the middle of the night leaving peices that look like they melted. (I keep my house at 72° and 70° at night) I can't get it off my wall and it ruined my shelf. I followed all the instructions, it held for about a week and a half and now is just ruined.

Used it to fix a multitude of things on my car already this tape is indispensable! Not quite permanent, but not far off! Extremely strong and durable adhesive, but easy to cut and the backing isn't difficult to remove

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Holding fast I received this product right about the time that my dashboard mounted cell phone holder stopped sticking to my dashboard. I figured this would be a great replacement for the crappy sticky pad that was failing. I removed the old pad, cleaned the foot and the dashboard with alcohol and then applied the Scotch Mount. I let it sit overnight and it has been holding like a champ ever since. I live in Ohio, so we have had colder temps some days and sunny, hot (inside the car) days and this product has help fast. My next attempt will probably be my squirrel spikes to keep them out of my window bird feeders. I’m excited to get to it because I know this Scotch Mount Extreme will hold up against the elements.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Scotch-Mount Extreme Works on Painted Concrete I used the Scotch MOUNT EXTREME to attach a decoration on my basement painted concrete block wall. This double-sided tape was easy to use and I'm planning to add more decorations with it. Other tapes did not stick to these walls and since I cannot put holes in the concrete blocks, this is the perfect solution.

I have had a problem with my plant containers in my house sliding off the stands they are on so I tried using this tape to hold them in place. I have used other double-sided tapes that have not worked. This extreme tape was awesome. The containers have not moved from the stands, even when my grandson bumped them. Definitely will be using this produce in many other places now.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Useful Product I received a full sized product of Scotch Mount Double-Sided Mounting Tape Extreme from 3M to review. First off, it was lighter (weight wise) than I thought it might be. The tape itself is more like a thin foam, which is nice. The tape comes in a roll where both sides have adhesive, but one side has a red protective tape that is peeled off for application. The tape has no perforation, so it is cut to whatever size is needed. I actually used this to reapply the counter stripping on the edge of an island in my kitchen. The width was perfect and gave enough surface area to adhere to both the counter and the strip for a solid hold. It was super easy to use and made for a quick repair in no time. I am very happy with this product and recommend it highly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Snakes alive, Extreme Mounting Tape to the rescue At first, I wasn't certain where I was going to use the Scotch Extreme Double-Sided Mounting Tape I had received at no cost to me from 3M to test and review. My exterior walls are a rough stucco finish so I was limited where to put it. I live in a hot, dry climate which means my garage gets hot too. Long story short, we found 3 Rattle Snakes in our yard this spring and so we purchased a snake grabber (snake tong) and we needed to find a central location to keep it handy. Thankfully I had the new roll of Extreme Double-Sided Mounting Tape and decided to use that on metal shelving to hold the grabber for easy detachment when needed. I mounted a Command Broom & Mop Gripper using this tape because the in our garage may have compromised the original strength of the mounting tape that came packaged with the gripper. It has worked out wonderfully!!! I can grab the Snake grabber in a flash and hang it back up effortlessly after use without concerns it won't stick on the metal. Perfect!

I first FINALLY was able yo hang my file holder on cube wall. And I have tried many products short of using screws which I am not allowed to do. Then 30 lbs max.. I hung up my broom holder. So easy. Put up a wall outlet. Again so easy. I am going to need more really soon as I am sure you will as well. Just so many uses. Awesome product. Thank you 3M

I used it to hang a picture on the wall and even a full length mirror. It was strong and worked great. I was given it as a sample for a real honest review. And I would say that I definitely will purchase.

Doing some crafting of the pots and this tape has been working well with the exception that it is a little difficult for me to get the backing off of the tape. Once I can get it off, the product seems to be adhering to the plastic pots well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Interesting Double Sided Tape I received the Scotch Mount Double Sided Mounting Tape Extreme in exchange for my honest review of the product. I decided to try this product in my car because I have been unsuccessful in mounting a holder for my glasses with the tape that came with it. Additionally, I use neoprene coasters in my cup holders to reduce the moisture in the cup holders. Once I got the package opened, it took a bit of work to remove the tape from the packaging. The edges of the roll caused the tape to adhere to the plastic over packaging and the tape has an additional plastic covering on the side of the roll that was next to the cardboard backing. When removing the tape from the roll, you must use scissors to cut the length you need. Trying to tear the tape off the roll is difficult. It stretches and stretches and stretches until it breaks making it difficult to use. I finally used scissors to cut the tape to size and it worked great. When the tape says extreme, that is not an exaggeration. When handling the tape, you need to be cautious that it does not accidentally come in contact with anything that you don’t want it to stick to as it becomes a bit of an issue. I have gel nails and even just using the edge of my nail to help place or maneuver the tape to where I wanted it to go would pull the tape off of where I had applied it. I found that the tape was very sticky and held well when first applied to the holder for the glasses. Other than trying to remove the tape covering from the opposite side, the mounting tape was fairly easy to install where I needed to. The tape did not hold well on the textured bottom of the neoprene coaster when applied directly to the bottom of coaster, but when applied to the cup holder and then when the coaster was applied to the exposed tape it felt like it was holding better. Overall, knowing what I know now, I would highly recommend it to others for their unique use needs.

I was hard to get it out of the plastic, and in doing so, mine came completely off the plastic. That left me with something sticky-ish to hold and use. I didn’t try anything close to the weight limit for hanging as I was worried about breaking something.

Double-sided mounting tape is the perfect tape for us to use to hang some shelves. This tape is able to hold up to 30 pounds. That is a lot of weight and makes it like no other tape that I have used before. I like that it can be used inside or outside. The only challenge for us is that it can only be applied in temperatures up to 100 degrees, which means that we will need apply the tape the coolest part of our day outside and not in the summer heat. I look forward to using this tape for many things and know that Scotch only makes top of the line, dependable products. If you need a tape that has EXTREME hold, this is the product for you.

Using an off brand in the past has done nothing but damage my walls and have my items drop down. So, when I had a chance to try this out with my outdoor light timer, I was like finally. I had to get my timer off the ground as the ants were moving in. But had no way to secure it safely to the umbrella poll. But this double-sided tape worked. It was wide enough, and you cannot even see it, so my timer is just attached nicely to the umbrella poll. I plan to use this as well for my wall calendar as well as the push pins always seem to fall out.

I'd been searching for a while for something I could use to hang stuff on the walls without having to damage the wall in order to do it and this ended up working perfect for that! I had a calendar that everyday tape just wasn't strong enough to keep it on the wall. I'd tried. Then I tried this and nearly a week later the calendar is still secured in place on the wall. I am pleasantly surprised with this product and would highly recommend it! Next, I'll be putting some of my artwork on the wall with it. It is super sticky and really does grip the wall. The surface I used is wood so I don't now how it works on other surfaces, just that it works well on the one I used. I look forward to being able to utilize this product more in the future. It's such a relief to be able to put up a calendar without having to nail it up and damage the wall in the process.

I wasn’t sure it would hold up, especially because the frame is pretty heavy, but it stuck immediately and hasn’t moved an inch since. I give it 5 stars for sure!

The inside of the roll is ready to be cut and stuck to a surface. You only have to peel off the top layer. I did notice that the surface has to be smooth. So this won't work on wallpapered surfaces or possibly textured walls. I plan to use it in my work shop to hang up items. I liked that it's easy to peel and cut. You may want to try a small strip of tape on a test area to make sure it will adhere without causing cosmetic damage. I was sent a free sample for reviewing and testing purposes. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Strong Sticky Tape But Can Be Hard to Remove This is a strong sticky mounting tape that can be used for a lot of applications. It was easy to unroll, cut to size, remove the backing and apply to my extension cord in an indoor setting. This is a great job of holding my extension cord on textured walls and felt solid. I did make a bit of a mistake applying the tape to the extension cord as it folded onto itself. It was hard to fix but I just ended up cutting the uneven piece and applied a new strip of mounting tape. I'm not sure how this would handle winter outdoor temperatures, but it states that it can be used between temperatures of 50 degrees F to 100 degrees F. I got this item for free for my review

This was on a wall I previously mounted frames using another well known brand with dismal results. The 3M product attached with very little prep work and are still firmly attached even after being bumped into by a clumsy 300 pound person.

They have different wall hangings - spaceships in one and animals in the others. Some of the pieces are a bit on the heavy side, but the Extreme double-sided tape had no problem holding them snugly where they were put. It was very easy to peel and place and a little goes a long ways. Great product. I've been happy with every 3M product I've used over many years.

This type of tape is not something you want to use if you plan to remove the item as this could damage your wall or surface taking it off. It was quite difficult to get it out of the package. What I like about it is that you can use as much or as little tape as you need. Keep in mind that in order to hold, you may need to use several strips depending on the weight of the item. Once you peel back the red liner, it will reveal the double-sided black tape. I think it would be great for something that might crack or split if you used nails on. I would have liked to use it on a rock wall, but unfortunately the surface is not recommended for this type of tape. I feel very confident that this would work nicely on metal or painted wood surfaces to hang or attach any type of object.

I hung up a larger frame in our playroom, putting one piece on each side. It held pretty strong and hasn't yet fallen. Our roof was replaced so I was thinking it might fall during all the banging, but it held up. Also used it to mount a small camera and basket to a bookcase. Again, held pretty strong.

We had no problems peeling the liner off to apply it to the painting we wanted to hang. We used 12 - 2 inch pieces to hang the painting pictured here.

The regular carpet tape wasn’t strong enough so we decided to try the Scotch Double-Sided Extreme Mounting Tape. Since it would be used on the porch and would be getting wet we went with the highest strength. The cats are out there running around and the carpet kept sliding up causing bubbles. Since putting this under the carpet it has held in place with no problems. Even when wet the carpet doesn’t come loose. So now we can walk on it without tripping. I know this isn’t the typical thing to use this tape for but it is working for us. So let your imagine go wild when thinking about uses for the Scotch Mount family of tapes. Hubby and son put it down before I could get more pictures for you.

Recently I purchased a 4 pack of outdoor hanging solar lights and refused to put any holes in my vinyl siding. I decided to use two to three strips of this super sticky tape on each light and they have held up outside on my home for almost 2 weeks now and we've had rain multiple days! This tape is very strong and versatile. I have a metal privacy screen that sits on my screened in porch. The feet are wobbly when the wind blows hard. I used long strips of this tape under each leg which are sitting on a cement floor and its keeping the legs in place! This tape is very easy to peel from the liner, sticks instantly, easy to cut and it just works!!

Surprised - I used 2 - 2in strips on the back of solar light and press to the deck rail. It worked amazing. I didn't line up the broken pieces of the solar light and I thought I could reposition. NOPE ~~~ I was not able to pull off to reposition.

The product claims it can hold up to 30 lbs so I was anxious to test it. Using another great 3M product, Command Hooks, I used the double-sided tape to hang the very heavy cable needed to hook our generator up to the house right near the door we'd use to get to the generator. This will make it so much easier when it is needed to be able to access it. The product was easy to use and after 3 weeks is still holding strong. It is permanent, make sure you only use it for projects that you don't want to move.

I didn't feel like going to all the trouble of using a picture hanger and this worked very well. The picture weighs about 2 1/2 lbs and I used the amount of tape recommended for the weight, which was not a lot. It's been hanging for over a week now and still holding strong. My only hint when using this tape is to make sure and wait to peel the outer layer after applying it to the item. I thought I would try to start removing it while on the packaging and learned the hard way that you cannot cut it with scissors after removing the protection layer. (see photo)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Strong Tape for those Heavy Duty Jobs This tape is strong. I live in a condo with textured walls. In fact, the previous 3 homes I lived in also had textured walls. And, my balcony walls are also rough textured. So, I tested this product on an inside door, because it was the only flat, smooth surface I could find. This is a strong tape. I cleaned the painted door so it was not dirty. I put up a box on the door and it held until I took it down. The tape was very easy to remove. It stretched like the taps for their hooks, but peeled off cleanly. I could definitely see this having many uses in garages or offices. (I don't have either.) 3M sent me a sample to evaluate. I would recommend this for your heavy jobs. The directions are on the reverse of the package.

I have a jewelry box that hangs over the door and every time we opened or closed the door, it banged against the door. We used a couple of strips near the bottom and no more banging! We also used this to hang several pictures. We have textured walls and the smaller pictures are still hanging up. We did use it on a larger, heavier wall hanging. It stayed up for almost a week before it fell but I need to add that we did not follow the 2" of tape per one pound of weight so that is on us. I think if you follow the directions, this tape will work quite well. It's overall easy to use, small negative would be that the tape we removed did take some of the builder grade paint with it but I think it probably wouldn't be an issue with better quality paint. I received this product at no charge in exchange for my honest review.

Each light strip weighs no more than 2 lbs, it's just a thin plastic bar... but ever since day 1, we've had each light fall off and smash into the counter (thankfully none have broken) intermittently. Sometimes we can manage a light to stick, undisturbed for 5 days at a time. But this product which claims to have a "30lb" hold on the front of the package, could barely manage to hold up a flimsy 2lb plastic bar. Not a long term solution for us. Sadly I had thrown away the receipt so I can't even return it. I really wanted this product to work.

The package said it would hold 30 lbs. So I tried something a bit heavy. I have some of my dads old tools hanging on the wall , the hand auger about 8 lbs. I hung it 3 days ago and it is still hanging there. I was impressed.

This item arrived just in time to try out on a shelf I wanted to hang for my hubbs to empty his pockets on when he arrives home. My problem is/was that I hate putting holes in my walls so I have been holding off on this project. Receiving this mounting tape was a problem solved. The tape has a strong bond. My shelf was about 3 pounds so I used the recommended 3 strips of 2" of tape. The tape is very easy to cut. No special tools are needed. I used regular scissors to cut my pieces. The shelf is on the wall solid. It will definitely hold his keys and wallet. HINT: Keep in mind not only the items weight but also any additional weight that may be added to an item and use the appropriate amount of mounting tape. What I mean by this is a shelf that is going to have a candle placed on it. You will need to calculate the weight of both. I just realized this tape can be used outdoors also! Here is my only ugh...and it is something I always have a problem with. I always struggle with removing tape from a roll. It does not matter what kind...they all frustrate me. This tape was no different. I struggled but finally got it. Then I found that directions on how to remove the backing liner was included in my package. My bad!!! I give Scotch Mounting Tape a thumbs up, for ease of use, that I only need one tool for cutting and less holes in my walls. My project I kept putting off for weeks was completed in less than 15 minutes because of Scotch Mounting Tape EXTREME. Kudos!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quick and easy hanging Scotch mount double-sided mounting tape by 3M extreme comes in a 30 pound tape roll. 2 inches of tape are needed for each pound of weight of the item that needs to hang on the wall. I wanted to hang up my husband‘s childhood fish wall decoration without nailing more holes in the wall so I was able to use this mounting tape, quick and easy. Because the fish decoration is only 1 pound I only needed 2 inches of double sided scotch mounting tape. However, there are also hooks attached to the fish wall decoration, so I added more tape to allow me to be able to hang items on the hooks. More tape means it can bear more weight. The first attempt to use the tape I placed the tape on The back of the hooks so that it would be flushed with the wall since the hook stick out more than the plaque. This didn’t work because the hooks were very narrow, and I didn’t get a sufficient amount of tape on the wall plaque and on the wall.I would definitely make sure I cleaned off and wipe down The wall as well as the wall decoration. We need a clean service to put the tape on. When my husband‘s fish decoration fell off the wall I proceeded to take a different step. I use some mounting tape to attach a wiped off piece of wood that was why I didn’t think enough to allow the tape to cover sufficiently and then I also added another piece of tape on top of that piece of wood so that it would stick to the wall and then the black would stick to the wood with two pieces of tape on each side of the wood. It connects everything together. I used about 5 to 6 inches total tape because this will allow me to also hang stuff on the hooks. So far it is held up on the wall. My husband will most likely use this tape for projects in his garage.

I did not want to have to drill into the brick and this tape worked like magic. I used a few 1" or 2" pieces of tape on each number and despite heavy rain and a few warm days they have held in place. I will be buying more to have on hand.

I used some for keeping a wobbly desk stuck to the wall so it won't 'shake, rattle & roll' when walking by. It's prolly not it's intended use but it works for me. I also used some for securing a mirror to the wall in a bathroom. I made sure it was solid before I removed the bracket after 24 hours. When I run-out I'll get some more to have on hand as it's one of those things you can always find some good use for.

The tape was easy to use, cut smoothly and has adhered well. It did not take much and stuck great on the first application!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does not hold as advertised. Tried to hang a plastic mirror that weighs 8lbs on tile with this tape to avoid drilling. I used a whole roll of tape, and though it held for about 3 weeks, it eventually started to sag, stretch and finally detached from both the tile and the back of the mirror. I tried another brand that said it would hold 50lbs and it didn't hold at all. So basically even though it didn't last, it was better still than the competition.

It is definitely durable and it even held up when it rained! I plan to see if I can hang a picture on the wall using this mounting tape.

Seem to really get the job done, and was very easy to work with. Would definitely purchase more of this tape.

The adhesive wore out on my command hook and I tried re sticking it with lots of other tapes, but they wouldn’t hold and my hook kept falling down. I was so excited to receive this tape for free in exchange for my opinion from 3M because I knew it would hold, and it has done the job! My command hook is back up and holding strong!!! Thanks 3M for making a great strong sticky tape!!!!

I was afraid this product might not work given conditions in a bathroom with steam, humidity, powder, etc. that could effect its performance. However, this has not been the case. The tape seems strong, trustworthy and durable.

Seems to stick amazingly to the scissors making it very difficult to work with, hard to peel the back side off, and then for the punch line to the joke..... it barely sticks to any application. Worthless. I ended up using the double-sided stickers you would use for hangars. Great product if you want to stick your scissors together in the closed position after use!

I used it to adhere some mirrors to a wood project I am working on, and they are not coming off. I am definitely going to get more for my future projects.

It is very easy to apply the tape to an object, cut to desired length and then remove the backing to apply to the wall. It stuck instantly with no hint of coming loose. I look forward to trying this tape on an outdoor project as well. 3M sent me a sample of this product to try.

The tape is easy to cut and seperate from the backing. You can easily measure and cut what you need to use.

The light weight wooden sign I hung is still on the wall. The other two items I attempted to hang were metal and fell after a few hours. The tape is super sticky but it’s a bit of a challenge to remove the backing.

I bought a battery-powered LED bar light and mounted it on the door moulding opposite the bookshelves. Scotch-Mount Extreme Double-Sided Mounting Tape was the perfect solution for hanging the light. The top of the light slides off for battery replacement and the base stays securely put using the Mounting Tape. The tape was easy to use and holds the LED light securely.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Extreme is an understatement! I wasn’t sure it would work to hang my grilling utensils on my outdoor grill, but it did! It’s not near direct heat but it is on metal, outside and on a surface that definitely gets hot. So far it has been two weeks and the grill has been used six times and there’s been no change from the day I hung the hook using the Extreme Tape. The photos show it after two weeks of using the grill which in addition to the heat includes taking the cover on and off. This hook isn’t going anywhere!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My New Go-To Adhesive Tape I was given this product hy 3M to sample and review. I used it to mount the rear facing camera, dashcams, in my vehicle. When the adhesive that the camera came with failed, I replaced it with the Scotch Mount Extreme Double-sided Mounting Tape, and I haven't had any issues with it falling down since. Its held up to the Arizona heat, no problems. My husband is a handyman and he has been using this tape in various projects as well. We will definitely be making it our go-to adhesive from here on out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Holds up to its name I originally first received this product as a sample. I was skeptical that it would work. Boy was I wrong. I use a 3in strip of this to hold up a drill free wall hook in which I use to hang my work bag on. It really works! I would say my bag is anywhere from 5-10lbs on a busy day and it withstands it. I’m unsure on the longevity of the tape or if it’ll leave residue when removing but for the meantime, I am beyond thrilled and happy with its quality.

This product was very easy to use: cut, peel, and apply. The tape is flexible, very sticky, and very strong. It made the project very simple and fast to install. The lights are rock solid and don't budge. I am going to be carrying a role in my tool bag from now on. Perfect for doors, walls, tile, signs - a very versatile product.

If you follow the instructions and apply this tape on a smooth surface at the recommended temp. it will definitely hold what you need. I did fail Tests on a 4x3in patch of tape and it resisted 175 lbs of force, that amount of tape is advertised to only hold about 6lb. If you apply this right it is incredible.

We added a battery-powered light bar over the head of our travel trailer bed (the bedroom lights are in center of ceiling), but it often fell off its double-sided foam mounting tape because of the high temperature in trailer when air conditioner isn't running. This Extreme Scotch Mount is the right tape for the job! When trailer is being towed, there's no cooling or heating inside, so this "made for hot and cold temp" tape should keep the light bar in place, no matter what!

Having the long roll will enable me to hang small or large items with the ability to customize the length. I used this to hang a speaker in my shop. To test the strength I attached a small piece to my hammer and it has held for a week so far. Very pleased with this product.

It’s nice that no tools are needed except for a pair of scissors to cut it to length. Super easy to use and holds well. I haven’t tried to hang anything around 30lbs yet to really test it. But it holds pictures nicely. I also haven’t tried it outside yet so I’ll be curious to try it when I find something i need to hang with it. I also like that it can withstand temps up to 100. In the house I used it on smooth wood walls and drywall. I received a roll of this for free from 3m for my honest opinion.

I can't attest to how much weight it can hold because my repairs were more light weight but I have no doubt it could support the weight listed on the packaging.

We previously attempted to hang this with Command Strips. It has fallen every time. Now, it is finally secure. The tape is very easy to use as the backing was easy to remove. It adhered very well to a vertical surface. The 30 lb weight capacity will ensure the station is stationary. The recommended amount of tape used seems to be doing a good job holding the weight.

I haven't tried to put it on a wall to hang something like a picture, but I'm sure it would work. Getting the tape off probably would cause some damage to the wall though. All of the projects I have used the tape on were for the garage and I wasn't worried about it coming off.

I used it to replace normal double sided tape on an item that kept releasing, it has been over a week and it is still holding. I also used it to replace something being held with hot glue and it is a massive improvement. I will definitely buy this again.

This cord will NOT be moving at all anymore. It was easy to use. Make sure to have sharp scissors to cut it though.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Properly applied, it's fantastic I've had this tape sitting around after replacing the adhesive on my pickups bed trim pieces a year ago. I've been using it to stick network switches in place in steel enclosures. Read the instructions, clean your surface properly, apply with 15lbs of pressure for 30 seconds, in temperatures above 50F, and it will stick until the sun expands and consumes the earth. Removal requires a sharpened putty knife and an adhesive remover, because its a permanent solution. Oh, if your surface is painted and the paint falls off where the tape is applied, your paint failed, not the tape.

Be aware that the packaging states that it will hold 30lbs but the instructions indicate the entire 60” roll should be used to hold 30lbs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Only Mounting Tape You Will Ever Need I used this tape to hang picture frames in my house. I always have troubles with nails and getting frames level. This has made hanging so much easier. For every pound, use 1 inch of tape. I like to put the tape on all 4 corners. This helps keep the frame on the wall, especially in our house where we can get sudden drafts of air when opening and closing doors.

One way that I have used it for recently that no other product has been able to hold up with is holding our logo/sign with our WR code onto our stainless steel margarita/slush machine. Nothing else has stuck as long as this has. It is constantly getting wet from getting cleaned and getting other liquids spilled on it and it is still holding strong, which is hard for slick surfaces. I have also used this to mount a small first aid kit onto the side of our storm shelter that is painted steel and is also slick and it has held up with no issues.

Not sure how it will hold up, yet, when it gets to be 100+ degrees outside, but it's in the shade, so it might be fine. Easy to use. Haven't tried removing it, so not sure if it leave a mark or sticky residue.

The tape mounts well on both smooth and slightly bumpy surfaces. The tape does not seem very sticky to the touch, but adheres very well once mounted. I haven't had an opportunity to use it on heavier items yet, but I am optimistic it will handle the job based on my prior experience with 3m products.

It has withstood variable temperatures and conditions. The strength is remarkable. It is simple to apply. I'm elderly and not agile so it was great to be able to do the task by myself.

I used it to wrap aound the metal legs of an excercise peddler to hold the rubber feet on. The extra thickness helped in this situation, as the rubber feet were loosely fitting, and always slipping off.

I used it on my dash in my SUV to hold up a back up camera monitor. It hasnt moved since using this! It states this tape can hold up to 30 lbs if directions are followed correctly. I havent used it for anything that heavy yet, but its impressive! I will definitely be buying more once this gets low. Great product!

I used a small piece of the Scotch-Mount extreme doubled sided tape on the back of the frame and stuck it to the wall. It is a very solid mount and I recommend this tape completely for it's ease of application and product reliability.

I used this which held better than regular tape. I used it to hold a graduation banner and lasted until I was ready to take it down which was about a week. Could’ve gone longer if I wanted to. Some tapes are too bulkly and can be seen ,not this one. It adhered strongly to the wall and I feel confident about the strength of the hold. The true test for me would be the hot summer months ,but Ive used other 3M tapes and don't think there's any need for me to worry based on experience.

It was applied to some birdfeeder on window applications I had. In addition I used it to mount some decorative tiles in my kitchen that I didn't want to use plaster + grout. Hung some handy tools and cleaning items near the door in the garage that have been resting on the floor - it is so versatile, strong and amazing. It's been there a couple of weeks (just today I was able to review as the site wouldn't let me!!). I'll be sure to purchase this at my local hardware in the future. Going to try it for frames as well.

I struggled to get the backing off the tape but did eventually succeed using a tweezers. I will not buy this product again.

It was easy enough to use, I needed a hook on a metal cabinet for my pickleball gear to hang in my garage. I read the simple directions and placed the tape. I waited a bit, then hung the gear. I checked it around an hour later and the hook and gear was on the ground. Retried it. Same thing. The tape was pretty easy to remove and left no damage to the cabinet. It’s supposed to hold 20 pounds, my gear was maybe 5 pounds.

I have a very large light that I have wanted to hang from my wall for quite a while now in my office and was unable to find something that would be able to hold the weight of the light...fingers crossed that it lasts a long time!

As one turns off of the lane into my home's driveway, a smooth landscape boulder, with my house number affixed by the Scotch Double-Sided Extreme Mounting Tape, sets at that driveway entrance. The 3M Tape has held up well through this spring's severe rain & windy conditions. 3M Scotch products are 2nd to none!

I used this tape to hold up the ant trap and it hasn’t fell once. This tape is very strong and works really great!

The tape is very sticky and it takes fingernail to start peeling off the protection on it. It stuck to the wall right away and seems like it's very secure. I think it definately only works on the surfaces listed, because I tried it on vinyl siding first and it didn't stick.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very strong and there to stay Excellent double-sided tape. It is easy to take off the roll and apply, but then it is not so easy to remove off of where you apply it to. I used it to attach solar driveway lights to my driveway that I did not want to drill into the concrete. After about an hour, it seemed like the tape turned into concrete or something. No budging. I am sure if I pried them up, they would move, but otherwise they are there for a good while. Stuff is very strong and stays put as long as you prep the surfaces by cleaning them.

I used on metal and wood, it has survived rain and wind and still holding on. I was given this product to test for free.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for "little" jobs outdoors. We have a greeting plaque that is outside our front porch, it hangs from a stainless steel wire (from a 3M Command hook !). This is secure from falling, but when it is even a little windy (it is in Chicagoland) it bounced around making an irritating noise. Adding just 1" of the Extreme tape to the bottom of the plaque has totally stopped that and the plaque is immovable unless ridiculous force is applied.

The tape was simple to apply and the backing was also easy to remove for installation. It adhered very well to my painted steel door. I applied to the mounting plates on the 4 corners of the board. It's a great place to put things you don't want to forget on your way out!

The walls are cinderblock with industrial grade paint. Masking tape is no match for the walls in my classroom. A stronger tape is needed. I will see if this tape can withstand the humidity of the classroom as well as the typical non stick surface of the walls.

NOT the same as the "Outdoor Mounting Tape", ( bearing a green label; foam material is pigmented gray as opposed to black on the "Extreme" tape). Usefulness of that product is far more than universes above & beyond that of this "Extreme" mounting tape. Do not be confused, just because the "Extreme" tape product claims to be for indoor/outdoor use. IT IS NOT. It is NOT NOT NOT NOT NOT the same product. It is ironic that the "Extreme" tape claims to be rated for 30 lbs but in reality cannot support < 1.6 ounces, while the "Outdoor tape is rated for half that (15 lbs.). At least that ("Outdoor") can hold up 3 or 4 ounces for a little while without letting go, even on a stucco surface, if your surface prep was superb. I am a Materials Engineer who for professional/employment purposes has to review various physical and chemical properties provided on Technical Data Sheets (TDS) for all sorts of materials daily. I frankly am interested to know what PSA adhesives are used on the "Outdoor" and "Extreme" tapes. I have searched and can find no TDS anywhere for either of them. It is just not on 3M's website. My present situation is that I am super, super peeved (to put it extremely nicely) about having just ordered a mega-sized roll of the "Outdoor" mounting tape from Walmart online, with absolutely NO doubt that I ordered the correct product, but having had "Extreme" tape delivered to me instead. Going right back to the store. Absolutely colossal waste of my very precious time, energy, & gas money, not one of which I have to spare!!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Strong adhesive I was given the scotch-mount extreme double-sided tape to try in exchange for an honest review. This tape is rated for 30lbs. I did not use the tape for a heavy object but I can tell you that it does work very well for the lighter objects I put up. We were allowed to hang decor inside and outside our apartment doors and on the walls so this tape came in at a perfect time for the Easter to summer decor change. On the packaging it said you could use it on painted drywall which is what I assumed are apartment walls and door area were so I followed the directions for the 1lb use of cutting 2 inches because my items were just a little under that weight. I wiped the walls with a wet rag to make sure there was no dust and I wiped it dry with another rag. After I was sure it was 100% dry I took my cut pieces and followed the tips for removing the liner. (Stretch a corner slightly with the backing by pinching between 2 fingers and pull. The tape stretches but the backing doesn't so it splits the tape from the backing. With your fingernail or in my case the tip of a flat screwdriver slide between the tape and liner. Once you get the edge enough punch the liner and pull to remove) I placed the tape on my decor and pressed until it was secure. I then placed the object on the wall and held the item for the 60 seconds suggested. When I released my items they were held in place perfectly. So now the reason for the 4 star rating instead of a 5. We were told they will be remodeling our hallways and common areas and we will no longer be able to decorate outside our doors so I had to remove everything before June 1st. Well the tape was stuck very well. My decor came off the wall but the tape remained. I had to damage to the decor but after prying the tape off of the wall it left a chunk of paint missing. Now I'm nervous about removing the items in my apartment. The tape was still very sticky so I'm thinking if I go to remove the items in the house for change of season or holiday and they stay stuck to the wall I will just hang the next decor on it until it dries up instead of trying to pull the tape off. Not sure if it would do it with all types of paint so I would suggest trying it in areas you either won't see after or that you will be willing to repaint if needed. I would still recommend to friends and family because it was holding up better than anything I had found to use before.

It was about 10 pounds and it shows no sign of the off again. I highly recommend you try this product. It should work for just about all your products up to 30 pounds.

I purchased to hang an item well under 30lbs. The item needed mounting on both sides and when I woke up in the morning everything had fallen down. Extremely disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does a great job adhering wood to ceramic. I received this product free from 3M to test. I used it to place a block of wood behind my toilet tank. The tank is a little far away from the wall and has been broken before when someone leaned back on it. This was perfect to tape a board to the back of the toilet to fill the gap. I didn't have to take the tank off and screw the board into the wall. I used it for two toilets. The only bad part was it was a bit difficult to get the protective cellophane off the tape. Otherwise, I would have given this 5 stars.

It has great holding strength and it's perfect in places where I don't want to screw into the wall. It's perfect for indoor and outdoor applications. I'm using it in the garage to hold a shelf for my gardening tools and it's working great. So far, it's been holding in temperatures from 30 to 80 degrees with no problem. I also used it to hang frames on my basement walls. I like that I can cut to the exact size that I need and there's no mess. It's super easy to use, just peel and stick. My husband just purchased an outdoor weather system and the sensor is mounted near the roof. I gave the roll to him so he can use it as well. I would definitely recommend this tape.

It applies easily to the object but it is impossible to take off the second side. You'll be wasting your money buying this product buy something that has a distinctly different material for a backing so it will be possible to remove the backing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No longer a reliable product. This is not the first time, not the second time, but now the third time that this product has failed me. I own a sign & graphics shop and I rely heavily on a product that can keep signs up on a wall regardless of what the finish is on the wall. Clearly weight is not the issue as this is a so called heavy duty tape. I hung door number signs up at a hotel that are barely a couple ounces in weight and the next day the hotel told me that most of them were on the ground. I cleaned the surface with alcohol and let that dry and applied 2 rows of tape across the back, push the signs up and down to wiggle them on the surface so the tape would really grip the wall, and pulled on them to check and they were solid. Nope, hotel management called me to tell me most where on the ground the following day. As a business owner, this makes me look terrible and I cannot rely on a product that continuously makes me look bad. Something changed in the product. Do not waste your money.

I saw that it is a 3M industrial strength adhesive that holds up to 12lbs. I also realized that it can be used inside or outside from 50 degrees to 100... I have a metal strip on my floor separating carpet from tile that started coming up so I thought this is the perfect project for this tape. I followed directions given and it worked! This was such a quick and easy fix and highly recommend the Scotch-Mount Extreme Tape. I have now been thinking of all the other pick list projects I can use this for. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super strong and surprisingly thin I decided that the best test for this mounting adhesive would be to attach two small plastic shelves to the surface of a large bathroom mirror. I used four 2-in strips each, placed vertically. They will be loaded with glass aftershave and cologne bottles, and I already have no doubt that the adhesive is going to hold everything just fine.

This Scotch-Mount Extreme Double-Sided Mounting Tape is a heavy duty product that does what it is advertised as. I used this tape to mount my phone holder to the dash of my truck because I do not like it to be mounted to the windshield. This tape has held the phone holder in place with no wiggle. My phone is held steady and I have not worried about it falling due to the hold that this tape has.

No such luck, the hook I wanted to secure to the wall fell off in record time. Unfortunately I distroyed the packaging or I would have taken it back. Buyer beware.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Expensive for a small amount of tape. I received this "Extreme" two sided tape free to review its performance. Of all the 3M products I have tried this was the most disappointing. First of all it's a very "small" roll... 1.66 yards of tape. Claims it will hold up to 30 lbs. I tried a little experiment using a small baby food jar with several exact blades. I use these jars with lids nailed to a wall to keep seal nails and screws. I used a 1" piece of "Extreme" tape on the lid of a jar and attached the jar. After 48 hours the gas looked to be firmly attached. When I carefully attempted to unscrew the jar from the lid, the tape easily released and the lid came off the wall. I find it difficult to believe this product would hold up to 30 lbs. I checked the price on various websites and it's quite expensive for such a small amount of tape. As I said, of all the 3M products I have used over the years, this one was pretty disappointing.

This tape was very easy to use, nice and wide for the application yet thin when placed on the surface. So far it is holding strong compared to other mounting tapes I have used in the same location in the past. Glad to have this tape in my tool box, and will be using it to mount more items soon!

I read the bad reviews like I do for everything I buy to see if it’s an actual poor product or the DIYers are just dumb. The ones here are the later…I am not sorry. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great sticky tape, no matter the weather! I received Scotch Mount Extreme Double-Sided Mounting Tape in exchange for my honest review. The tape itself is black, although the sticker paper protecting the sticky side is red. It is about 1mm thick and very sticky. I used it to supplement the items hanging in my home, from lightweight paper to a 5lb branch ornament in the bathroom. It is holding well, even with the water, and humidity in the bathroom. I plan to use it outside, as well, for my winter projects, and have no doubt it will hold well! If you plan to use a lot of it, I would stock up. I highly recommend it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for "little" jobs outdoors. We have a greeting plaque that is outside our front porch, it hangs from a stainless steel wire (from a 3M Command hook !). This is secure from falling, but when it is even a little windy (it is in Chicagoland) it bounced around making an irritating noise. Adding just 1" of the Extreme tape to the bottom of the plaque has totally stopped that and the plaque is immovable unless ridiculous force is applied.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Unfortunately Did Not Work For Me I used 3M VHB tapes before with success so was looking forward to trying this out, but unfortunately it did not hold. I tried using this to add some hooks to the trunk of my car and while it did hold for a week or two, it eventually failed and the hooks fell (the included photo is of the replacement product used to illustrate what the vision was). I'm not sure what caused the failure -- whether it was the material it was supposed to adhere to or repeated stress on it when bags were attached (the hooks were not meant to hang heavy bags off of, but rather to hold bags in place so they don't shift around, so that may have been too much for the tape). Perhaps for something that doesn't have repeated stress on it (just hanging something in a stationary position) I would have had better results.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does not hold I bought this tape for my classroom at school to mount foam board, (weighs less than 1 lb.It did not hold and actually fell off the wall. It has also left all of the sticky pieces of tape and I cannot remove them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Scotch-Mount™ Extreme Double-Sided Mounting Tape it states that it can hold up to 30 pounds, but it's important to understand how much linear tape is needed used per pound and that this is a permanent posting that can potentially be damaged... I have resolved to hang some interior tv antennas but am a bit leery to utilize this for other (heavier/fragile?) applications. I can't think of any practical uses for which i would seek out a product like this...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Heavy duty mounting tape 3M gave me this double sided mounting tape to review. This was easy to install onto my picture frame for mounting on my bathroom wall. As my frame was solid black metal, the color of the mounting tape (black) blended into the color of the frame. Plus it gave a soft cushion against my wall so there was no additional scratch marks or hole punching into the freshly painted wall.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Scotch Mounting Double-Sided Mounting Tape Review The red and black colors make the packaging pop, however, I think there should be a color other than black directly underneath the roll of mounting tape, so the roll of mounting tape sticks out from the packaging. I do not like the black on black. The instructions included in the free sample states HOLDS UP TO 12 LB, however packaging states 30lbs. The back of the packaging states NO TOOLS, however, one needs scissors to cut the mounting tape. I consider scissors a tool. Otherwise, the product does what it is tasked to do and appears to come off metal surfaces without staining.

I have used a number of double-sided mounting tapes in the past and this one surpasses them all. It is a heavy duty product which is easy to use. The tape performs very well in situations where others I've used in the past fail. I highly recommend this mounting tape.

The tape itself is relatively thick, like other tape 3m mounting products, and this product also has a very rubbery feel. As this was a product I received to review, I was thankful that the info sheet that came with review instructions also had some very good advice on removing the backing liner. Those instructions were not on the actual package itself and given how sticky that tape is, I feel like those additional bits of advice might be helpful to users to be able to get the backing loose from the mounting tape. Strength seems to be very good! The labeling takes come careful examination as it says in big letters “30 lbs”, but the usage instructions indicate you just use the entire roll of mounting tape to get that strength. It’s not a problem … it just requires careful reading.

However, I changed the orientation of the plug. When I pulled it off the wall, it pulled the paint off. I could not get the old piece of tape off. It works great! Just not easy to get off.

I had read how difficult it may be to remove the backing but it wasn't that much of a challenge for me. Fairly easy to use and does its job. I received a free sample from 3M to review.

I used it in my basement to attach shelving to the cinder block wall for storage. The tape is holding up really well and it is supporting heavy items, including a dumbbell! I'll definitely purchase this product in the future.

Held for about 12 hours and then fell off. The side that fell off the mirror had minimal remaining stickiness and the side on metal rolled off with ease. The 50%+ "1" reviews make a loud statement.

It’s easier to cut to make custom sizes and the stickiness appears to be as strong as advertised. I have not yet put something heavy up with it (though I plan to after painting my door to put up decor), but I used it to mount a surge protector on the side of my nightstand. Being able to cut it meant I could use the perfect size. I have plugged more things into it since this picture but it is holding strong. There have been no issues with the holding power

Rated 5 out of 5 by from If It Can't Stick, I'm Not Stuck On It. "Do not submit a review until you have used the product." I finally had a practical need to test this product. A light-weight plastic-covered holder in the shower came with suction-cup clips that just weren't staying "stuck". Having used and liked many 3M products over the years, I was sure that this tape could do the job! I was wrong. It just barely gripped the holder, but wouldn't stick to the DRY tile wall at all. After a couple efforts to find a way to "get a grip", the tape had lost all adhesive ability. Somewhere, I'll find an application that better suits this, but it was quite a surprise it couldn't hold a 1/2# in place.

Previous attempts failed due to heat exposure, but Scotch’s Mount Extreme does the job perfectly. My first use was unconventional in that I didn't use it for mounting a picture frame or the like, I used it to glue a knob to a cabinet door. So far it is holding great so I can see using this tape as an adhesive for many different things.

The tape easily peels from the roll and you cut whatever length you need. It is very sticky and fairly easy to remove the backing liner. The packaging indicates this is designed for painted drywall, finished wood, metal, acrylic and smooth stone. It is also good for indoor or outdoor use. I tried the tape on a metal step stool and it seems to have worked well. I can definitely see using this double sided tape to attach a lot of different things around the house.

Also, I used to put up a hook on my patio to hold a thermometer and it worked wonderfully other items that I used in a few days I would come back, and it would be on the floor.

They said that while it was easy to use, it made the scissor blades sticky. They used about half the roll, which should have been more than enough, but about 2 days later the shelf was on the floor. We were both disappointed.

The tape handles both indoor and outdoor jobs, and works SO well. 3M mailed me this to test out, and Im so grateful. This tape is super flexible, and holds high weight. I put the tape on the back of a 5x7 photo then adhered it to the back-inside of my rolltop desk. It’s holding very well and I have no nail holes in my desk. I’m very pleased with the tape.

I didn't know such a thing excited outside of regular double-sided tape which is great for simple paper or photo projects like scrapbooking. This extreme version was awesome to use for hanging decorations, signs, frames, and other artwork on my walls without having to use a nail or pushpin. It also did not leave any residue and I am happy to also report nothing has fallen off my walls from use. :)

I applied first on a lightweight wall vase using a piece about 2 inches long, held strong. I hung a fairly good size picture next using 4 strips about 5 inches long, holding great. I have had them up for a week and no signs of weakening. Love not having to put nail holes in my walls, perfect for renters. I tried the vase on my wood deck wall and it worked, so I plan to get some metal flowers to put up soon. Tried on vinyl siding and didnt work, not a deal breaker. Roll has enough tape for several projects, depending on sizes of course.

No way to tell if moisture will affect the bond but, I'm guessing it'll be fine. I cleaned the area with an alcohol swab before I installed this. Seems like a roll will last a while.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Strong hold This was the perfect solution for my shop. I wanted to hang a very thin picture frame to use as a menu without putting holes in the wall. The frame was pretty light and I wanted it to be pretty flush against the wall. It was easy to use. I cut small pieces and spread them out on each side and top and bottom of the frame and it allows the frame to sit pretty flush. It seems pretty secure. I won't know how it pulls off the wall or if it damages the frame until I'm ready to move the picure.

The frame is within the weight limit of the mount tape, but it just wouldn't hold to the wall. I will say that the tape came in a super convenient roll, was easy to peel, attach, and attempt at mounting. The directions were clear too. All in all I think it will work great with other projects.

I've used it for various projects, and it holds everything in place perfectly. The double-sided design makes it easy to apply, and it's virtually invisible. Just a small piece of Scotch Mount Double-Sided Mounting Tape on decoration until I get it the way I want it. It holds my items better than other things I have tried. Then, I hot glue it into place to make it permanent.

It’s hot & humid where our camper is located, so some of the items adhesive won’t hoId . I repaired both the banner & back splash with Scotch Mounting Tape. It was easy to work with and it’s holding great.

While the double-sided tape seems to hold for the brief time I was given to evaluate this product, it does leave a black residue behind if you try to remove it. It might be better if it was clear so the residue wasn't as obvious and you could use this on things that are see-through so you don't see the black. I did try this on some drywall and after a couple of days decided to try to remove it. I used a piece of plastic to help me pry the small piece off the wall. I was able to remove it without damaging the drywall but it did leave a black residue on the wall which I then had to clean off. I am also not sure if I would trust it to hold anything really heavy. It might be good to hang up signs and things that are lightweight that you don't intend on moving.

From pushing and pulling the table, the edging came loose. I stuck a small piece of tape in between the plastic edging and table and it stuck very well. I would recommend this to DIY people. I am still seeking other things to use it on.

I have wanted a durable strong mounting tape for a long time and had no luck until after using this one. This won’t be as easy to remove as one of those velcro tapes, but it holds heavier objects much more securely. The company gave me this product to review. I stand behind review. If you want to hold a heavy object to a wall, this product is for you.

It easily comes off if needed too. I used it to quickly hand a picture and it held on the wall until I removed it. Highly recommend this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super Sticky I love 3M products. They always do as stated, are high quality, and are affordable. This product is great, as you can use it both in and outdoors. I can think of so many more items I will use this double sided tape on. I haven't tested the full weight limit yet, but I'm sure I won't be disappointed. I used it to place a 10x6 blackboard in our bar area with no problems. Very easy to place tape and stick to the wall. I highly recommend.

They both stayed up without any problems. I like that it can be used on many everyday surfaces I have in my home. Looking forward to using it again soon.

I have only used it for one project so far, but really like the slight cushioning that it provided to reduce the creaks and cracking noises on our boat. There are a lot of parts that have metal squeaking above all the extra motor noises that make talking a chore as you travel in high winds or rough waters. I made tiny patches to put between parts that do not need to come apart and we had a bit more conversation than in the past. I think I'll put a few posters up on the walls in the camper that I thought might come loose or fall with traditional mounting tape. Overall very happy. I also noticed that Walmart and other retailer now carry it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great adhesion that really works! This product has a great adhesive that sticks really well and seems to maintain its hold. Often when you need something that is removable but needs to hold more than three to five pounds it is often an inferior product.

At first I really like this product, was using it to hang up a shelf and I did not want to use a nail or anything like that. Compared to other products like this it is thin and allows for the shelf to be closer to the wall but the shelf still fell three days later. Was not heavy but was in the basement that changes temperatures. Really want this to work but sadly did not for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice tape I received this as a free sample. This is ok tape. Not the best. But it works well. It doesn’t seem quite as sticky as some other 3m tapes I have used. But it works well for hanging pictures and things that only need a medium hold. It is also relatively easy to remove from some surfaces, which could be a plus. I’m not sure how it does on painted walls, but it’s good on other surfaces. I like that it is a bit thick as well. Not much comes in the package, so you may need more if you have a huge project. Would I actually purchase this product? Yes, for specific projects.

It is easily applied and remains in place until removed. It can be removed without damages to walls.I have found all sorts of uses for it besides hanging pictures.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Handles the heat well 3M gave me a free sample of the Scotch Mounting Tape EXTREME to evaluate. It's made for indoor/outdoor use. It's advertised as their strongest tape with industrial strength adhesive. I can absolutely agree with that! I have a wreath that hangs on my front door that the Home sign decoration could not take the extreme changes of temperature this spring and was falling off. This tape is supposed to be able to handle temperatures of 50 to 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Temperatures the last few weeks have fluctuated between 87 degrees Fahrenheit and 52 degrees Fahrenheit, which means its even hotter between my front door and screen door, hitting as high as 99 degrees Fahrenheit and going as low as 52 degrees Fahrenheit. So far this tape has held up superbly! My Home is sticking in place. Please note, while I am reviewing this for holding up under extreme temperatures, this tape is made to hold up to 30 pounds if you use the entire 60 inches. I would highly recommend this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Strong & sticky hold I received a sample of the Scotch-Mount Extreme Double-Sided Mounting Tape for my honest review. This tape is super sticky. I haven't used it for very long, but it feels secure. I also appreciate that it says you must use 2" of tape for every 1 pound of weight. If you need to hold something to a textured wall or wood, I think this would be an excellent option.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Strong Double-sided Mounting Tape The double-sided mounting tape was easy to use by cutting strips and adhering them to a small display shelf. The instructions were clear and after pressing firmly for 60 seconds, the shelf felt secure and didn't move. I like that it supports 30lbs so I can feel rest assured that my display will not fall down. The only thing is I wonder how to remove it later if I had to since it's so secured.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is magic! This mounting strip is incredible! I used it to mount baskets to the inside of my kitchen cabinet. With the door constantly being opened, nothing seemed to stay attached. Been using the Scotch Mount Extreme now for a few weeks and with daily openings, the items are firmly attached to the inside door. I can easily grab a new sponge or get a dish brush with ease. Great for organizing!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The birds will love this! I received this product free to review but it is something I will buy in the future. The word extreme does not do it justice. I've actually used it in two places outdoors. I used it the hang up my address over my front door and I used it on a wall mount bird feeder. It's been two weeks with some pretty heavy rain and it has stayed up. I can't wait to see how it handles the temperature changes from summer to frigid winter. I recommend purchasing this as it is the best I've seen.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A surprisingly good solution for our old furniture I have received this product free from 3M for evaluation. We have an old desk whose facia keeps falling off forward. We tried to use nails to keep it in place, but we did not see any success. Because the nails did not work, we were skeptical about this Scotch-Mount Extreme Double-Side Mounting Tape, but we gave it a go anyway. The result is surprising. The facia is staying up with a much better fitment than what we could get from the nails (the reason nails did not work was that the wood is so hard that the nails we were using hard trouble penetrating deep enough). It has been a couple of weeks since the application, and it is still up neatly. We are so glad that we tried the Scotch-Mount tape and instead of writing it off without trying,.

Very strong adhesion that works on many types of surfaces and so far, has held up outside in the weather with the cold and heat temps. I have used this on the boat, outdoor camera, and to hold heavier items in my garden shed.

The tape was easy to use, and seems to be holding well. I like that it is removable, although I have not tried that yet. I can see this being very useful to hang a variety of things, especially if you don't want to commit to a permanent placement.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very sticky! This tape is very sticky and it was not difficult to get the backing off, so was easy to apply. The plastic rocker panel on my minivan had come loose. The thin smear of glue that originally held it in place had failed, so I decided to give this Scotch Mount Extreme Double-Sided Mounting Tape a try since other parts (i.e. trunk spoiler) are mounted with double-sided tape and have stood the test of time. Note that the package doesn't specifically list plastic as a surface that the tape is designed for, so time will tell if this holds on, but the loose top edge of the rocker panel slips up under the bottom of the door, so it's partially protected from the elements. I'm betting this will do trick. My next project will be to use this tape to stick a wooden frame onto the large mirror in my bathroom to give the appearance of a framed mirror

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Weather Station Mounting, Holds Tight. I used the D-S Mounting Tape to secure a Weather Station to my garage wall. I found the tape to be very sticky and adhered to the wall and the station quite well. Using 2 pieces of tape and after about 5 days, the station is still firmly mounted with no sign of letting go. Just make sure that surfaces are CLEAN & DRY.

I use to to hang stuff on my walls that I do not want nail holes in. I use it outside for various jobs also. It's easy to cut the amount needed. Helps me with so many small projects and even a few bigger ones.

The paper towel holder is very light and paper towels don’t weigh much themselves. Glad I tested before hanging a small camera above our heads. Waste of almost $6

Scotch Mount Extreme Double Sided Mounting Tape worked is strong enough to hold my silver foiled insulation to my metal garage door without coming off. It is safe to use on the interior or exterior of the metal door. I am confident it will hold for years to come. You could use it on many projects around your home. I will be buying this product again for future use.

Sticks to our drywall easily and holds pictures well. Not so good on non-smooth/porous surfaces like concrete block. Can be used outdoors. I cleaned the glass and the back of the tile with alcohol and then applied the tape. I left them red backing on until it was in position, removed the red backing and stuck it to the mirror. It held readily and strong, No need to stand and hold it for in place.

I have never been let down by a 3M product. It holds well and its been on the wall for a few weeks and is still as attached as when i mounted it.

So keep that in mind based on how big of a project you have. I received this product as a free sample in return for my honest review.

This double-sided tape is a long way from (and much more EXTREMEly powerful) than the sticky Post-It Notes you're familiar with, from Scotch. Amazingly, this industrial strengh adhesive works outside as well as inside. The directions and pictures make it very easy to see what to do and how to do it in order for your project to be successful. The only small drawback is that it would take the entire roll (60 inches) to hold an item of 30 pounds, which is the maximum weight. Nonetheless, you can quickly use this MAXIMUM product with the minimum of problems. :-)

The hanger for my shower squeegee fell off. I used the tape that came with it. It was actually in a shower we never use and it lasted 5 years. We rented that area out so we needed a tape that was going to last. This one looks like a winner!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Strong Tape This tape is amazing! I needed to find a tape that could be used for both indoors or outdoors, and was happy when I found this. It also allows for application in a wide range of temperatures (50-100F) allowing me to complete outdoor tasks without having to wait for the perfect application temperature. This tape has 3M industrial strength adhesive allowing for it to hold 1 lb per 2" of tape. It also works on a number of surfaces including painted drywall, acrylic, finished wood, and smooth stone. Overall this is a must have to keep on hand.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Scotch Mount Extreme Double Sided Tape Scotch Mount Extreme Double Sided Tape is an extremely strong and durable adhesive, but easy to cut and the backing isn't difficult to remove. I don’t have to worry about putting nails in my wall because this double sided tape works like a charm. This tape works great for permanent fixing where glues and other tapes would fail or be too messy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wooden Welcome Sign hangs with no drilled holes. I have a wooden welcome sign that I didn’t want to drill holes in my brick for it to stay in place. I thought this would be a great option to hang it up. It’s been great so far for a week it has stayed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Double siding Scotch tape makes projects simple. The extreme mounting tape by Scotch has good adhesive. I have used this tape to put up pictures and curtain rods, when I do not want to put up nails or when the window has concrete. It holds up well. The only issue I have is its hard to remove the backing liner even when stretching the tape. I find some times the tape would curl.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for wall decorations I used the Scotch Mount Extreme Mount tape on my canvas wall art. I like that it is double sided. The tape holds up to 30 pounds. I also tried it with a small shadowbox . Very easy to use. Just pull the red tape part away from the adhesive. You stick ot to the surface , then put the object that you want mounted on that top surface. Make sure that the surface that you apply it too is clean and lint free, because particles stick to the sticky part easily.
