The Galaxy Ecosystem and the Samsung Flow App

We’d be remiss to not touch on the magic of the Samsung ecosystem from the get-go. If you have a Samsung Galaxy Phone or Tab, pairing with a Galaxy Book could increase your connectivity and simply your workflow dramatically.

One example: if you have a Galaxy Tab, you can use it as a second screen to maximize your productivity with the Samsung Flow app. There is also a Quick Share feature where you can share files between Samsung devices wirelessly, much like Apple’s AirDrop feature for their device ecosystem. Additionally, you can link up your Galaxy Phone and answer text messages right on your Galaxy laptop or mirror the screen on your laptop. Here’s more information on Samsung Flow and a comprehensive look at its capabilities.

This configuration of the Samsung Galaxy Book can be considered the basic configuration. It features a generous 15.6” display with thin bezels, 720p webcam,  a keyboard with number pad and a stylish, minimalistic aluminum chassis. The trackpad is large and generous, making it great for those with larger hands.

On the underside of the device are rubber grips on each corner to stabilize the Galaxy Book as well as an air intake vent to keep the PC cool.

The Galaxy Book doesn’t skimp on port options with two USB-C ports, an HDMI port and USB 3.0 port on the left side and an additional USB 3.0 port, headphone jack and microSD card reader on the right side of the device.

The display is one of the more remarkable features of the device, a full HD, 15.6” screen with 60 Hz refresh rate. The colors are vivid and true with 300 nits of brightness.

The specs can run most modern programs outside heavy-duty 4K video editing apps and even have the graphics capability to run most casual games at lower resolutions (after work, of course). For your typical word processing and web browsing, it runs without a hitch.

Quick Tech Specs
  • Processor: Intel Core i5 1135G7 / 2.4 GHz
  • Graphics: Iris Xe Graphics
  • OS: Windows 10 Pro
  • Storage: 256 GB SSD
  • Display: 15.6”
  • Resolution: 1920 x 1080 (Full HD)
  • RAM: 8 GB
  • Weight: 3.42 lbs
  • Battery life: ~9 hours

This configuration of the Samsung Galaxy Book is identical to the last mentioned aside from the CPU and RAM—this is an upgrade you should consider depending on the kind of work you’re looking to get done. If you plan on compiling big data sets, video conferencing while running through big Excel spreadsheets, or you never close browser tabs (you know who you are!), you may benefit from the additional CPU and RAM horsepower. You’ll notice less slowdown when running these heavier workloads. Be sure to read our article on RAM vs. CPU to learn more about both to better inform your buying decision.

The Galaxy Book does not have Windows Hello, which is a way to unlock your computer with your face, and there is no fingerprint unlock either. For business users looking for additional security features for their laptop, this may be a downside of the device.

Not every laptop has good external speakers, but the Galaxy Book’s are quite extraordinary. The dual 2W speakers with Dolby Atmos sit on the bottom of both sides of the device, cranking out exceptional sound without having to plug in your headphones. This can be great for those looking to share audio content with colleagues on a whim around the meeting table.

  • Resolution: 1920 x 1080 (Full HD)
  • RAM: 16 GB
  • Weight: 3.42 lbs
  • Battery life: ~9 hours

The first 2-in-1 laptop featured amongst the best Samsung business laptops available, the Samsung Galaxy Book2 360 is the second generation of the Galaxy Book 360. It can be converted back and forth from laptop to tent to tablet mode with its durable, 360-degree hinge. At a mere 2.62 lbs and just about a half inch thick, it makes a great companion to carry to and from the office.

The display is smaller than that of the Galaxy Book at 13.3” and the top and bottom bezels are a bit chunkier. However, the Galaxy Book2 360 really shines when it comes to its 60Hz, AMOLED display—you may not believe it’s still full HD and not 4K. It also has a peak brightness of 400 nits and an impressive 500 nits in HDR mode, exceeding the Galaxy Book’s 300, making it better suited to be used outdoors.

The colors are accurate and really pop—it covers the full sRGB color gamut and nearly the entire Adobe RGB gamut. The touchscreen works well with Windows 11, particularly with Samsung’s S Pen, which is included with the Galaxy Book2 360 series.

It has the same 720p webcam and a similar silvery chassis (also offered in a blue or magenta metallic finish). Unlike the Galaxy Book, it does feature a fingerprint sensor integrated into the power button, but still no Windows Hello. It does have the same dual 2W speakers as the Galaxy Book and exceptionally full sound for external laptop speakers.

Ports include 2 USB-C, both of which charge but only one of which offers Thunderbolt 4 support. The left side has both these ports as well as an HDMI port, and the right side has a USB-A port, microSD slot and headphone jack.

Quick Tech Specs
  • Processor: Intel Core i5 1135G7 / 2.4 GHz
  • Graphics: Iris Xe Graphics
  • OS: Windows 10 Pro
  • Storage: 256 GB SSD
  • Display: 15.6”
  • Resolution: 1920 x 1080 (Full HD)
  • RAM: 8 GB
  • Weight: 3.42 lbs
  • Battery life: ~9 hours

This Samsung Galaxy Book2 360 configuration is the same as the last but with an upgraded CPU and storage. You’ll notice the additional CPU power most under heavy workloads—business laptops with lesser CPUs will struggle running two CPU-intense applications at once, sorting through big datasets in Excel or compressing high resolution video files. The 12th gen Intel Core i7 is near the top-of-the-line amongst Intel CPUs (and all CPUs, for that matter) and should be able to handle most business-related tasks with ease.

Quick Tech Specs
  • Processor: Intel Core i7 1255U / 1.7 GHz
  • Graphics: Iris Xe Graphics
  • OS: Windows 11 Pro
  • Storage: 512 GB SSD NVMe
  • Display: 13.3” AMOLED touchscreen
  • Resolution: 1920 x 1080 (Full HD)
  • RAM: 16 GB
  • Weight: 2.62 lbs
  • Battery life: ~11 hours

The Samsung Galaxy Book2 Business was made specifically for enterprise organizations, featuring upgraded specs as well as Intel’s new 12th Gen Evo vPro processor. The Galaxy Book2 Business comes with advanced security features, such as an anti-spoofing IR cam for facial recognition access and the Level3 Fingerprint Recognition Key with Windows Hello built into the power button.

Another unique feature of the Galaxy Book2 Business is the 180-degree hinge. You can lay the screen flat, press Fn + C, and the screen orientation flips for easy sharing of information with the person in front of you. This is a great feature for huddle meetings and prevents the risk of dropping the device when passing it off.

Speaking of drops, you may be wondering how the Galaxy Book2 Business can handle the inevitable accident. It’s an ultra-durable device that has passed 16 tests to meet the military standard (MIL-STD-810H). This means it is rated to endure extreme temperatures, shocks, vibration, high altitude and drops. For those in need of a secure business laptop, the Galaxy Book2 Business should be top of your consideration list.

Quick Tech Specs
  • Processor: Intel Core i7 1270P / 2.2 GHz
  • Graphics: Iris Xe Graphics
  • OS: Windows 11 Pro
  • Storage: 1 TB SSD NVMe
  • Display: 14”
  • Resolution: 1920 x 1080 (Full HD)
  • RAM: 16 GB
  • Weight: 3.31 lbs
  • Battery life: ~11 hours

This configuration of the Samsung Galaxy Book2 Pro has upgraded RAM from its base model, which comes equipped with 8 GB RAM. Ports are the same as the Galaxy Book2 360, with two USB-C ports (both charging, one with Thunderbolt 4 support) on the left side and then a headphone jack, USB-A and microSD slot on the right.

The Galaxy Book2 Pro features the same vent and speaker setup as its predecessor, the vent spanning most of the width of the base of the device and the speakers at each corner of the front underside. The trackpad is generously sized and highly responsive, and the keyboard is fully backlit and springy with a full-sized keypad. Similarly, to the Galaxy Book2 360, it has a power button with the integrated fingerprint reader for an additional layer of security.

The bezels are thin and sleek, and unlike most models mentioned here, the Galaxy Book2 Pro features a full HD, 1080p webcam. For those looking for a great video conferencing experience without having to purchase a separate webcam, this device makes an excellent choice.

The AMOLED display really shines with the Galaxy Book2 Pro as well, with 100% sRGB and 96% Adobe RGB, as well as approximately 400 nits of brightness and can top out around 500 nits in HDR mode (note this will reduce the battery life significantly). Design professionals will notice the difference with this display in terms of color accuracy. Note that the Galaxy Book2 Pro does not have touchscreen capability, however—which brings us to our final Samsung business laptop featured here.

The first thing you may notice about the Samsung Galaxy Book2 Pro 360 is not only its verbose moniker but also, it’s extremely lightweight. At 2.29 lbs, it’s amongst the lightest laptops on the market today. You’ll have no problem toting it around. It also has the increased flexibility offered by its 360-degree hinge over the Galaxy Book2 Pro. If you want to draw on the touchscreen or fold back the keyboard to watch a few YouTube videos in your downtown, the Galaxy Book2 Pro 360 may be just the laptop for you.

Conveniently, like the Galaxy Book2 360, the Galaxy Book2 Pro 360 comes with the S Pen in box, and it’s magnetic so you can stick it right on the aluminum chassis so it never gets lost. Following the theme of many other of the Samsung laptops discussed in this article is the AMOLED display you’ll have to see to believe. It really will impress you, particularly if you’re used to using business laptops with standard full HD displays.

The same ports as the Galaxy Book2 Pro are present on the 360, as well as the power button with integrated fingerprint reader.
