This Interface Swipe Reader interfaces easily with PCs or ASCII terminals with RS-232 ports and reads up to three tracks of card data. Its extended card path ensures reliable card reading. Messages are checked using parity and LRC prior to transferring to host. LED indicator provides continuous status of the reader's operation. The mode of operation (buffered or unbuffered) baud rate, RS-232 communication parameters, and user protocol can be set through the switch block.
