This laptop is rough and ready, with reinforcements inside and out. It was built to military specification, but it's meant to endure an even more demanding user and school kids.
A rubber bumper around the top cover absorbs the force of bumps to the side of the system. The corners are 33-percent stronger, to reduce damage when dropped at an angle. The bezel is thicker, to protect the LED panel. The hinges and brackets have been strengthened, to last 50,000 cycles and to withstand more force to the cover. Recessed ports and a reduced gap between keys help prevent accidental damage from a bored child's exploring fingers. This is one tough machine.
