This is a must have, or one of the hundreds of other usb-rs232, if you are trying to communicate with an old serial device and have a PC/laptop that only has a USB port.

I purchased the Tripp-Lite Cable USB to Serial adapter to make changes to my stations' RDS receiver / transmitter. Needed a 25 pin to USB adapter to connect to my laptop. I received the cable quickly, packaged tightly with short quick help booklets inside written in plain English. It also included a mini CD for the driver install for my laptop. i use this product so i can connect it to my vinyl cutter to my laptop. its fun and super easy to use!. comes with a "usb to serial adapter owners manual and driver" cd ROM for a better understanding and easy experience ! hands down a great product and thank you!

I would have no issue with using this for future projects!
I used this for communication between a Robot Controller and my PC. I had no problems with Cable.
