I received this as a free sample from 3M.
I had something I needed attached to the interior of my car, but need to be able to remove it occasionally. I live in SC, and park outdoors, so the car interior can get pretty hot. So far, the Extreme Fastener is working well. Easy to mount, and the 'clicking' action lets me know my item is secure.

Uses are Endless
I tried Scotch Extreme Fasteners the other day and I think the product is long overdue. I used them to secure a lightweight aluminum cover to hide a hole. They worked great. I also used them to hang pictures and a clock on the wall. They couldn't have come at a better time because we are painting, patching, and updating several rooms. I received the Scotch Extreme Fasteners for free to try in exchange for my honest review.

Holds great

I was given a free sample of this to try.
I expected heavy duty velcro, but it isn't like velcro at all. It does snap together but you have to get it lined up exactly right. Unlike velcro if it is at an angle or not exactly straight it won't snap together.
On the other hand, once it snaps together it has an extremely strong hold and works in outdoor conditions including wet conditions.

Unbelievably Strong!
3M gave me a free sample of this product to evaluate. I didn't know they made a product this strong and it came at a perfect time. The wood panel on the front of my cabinets in front of my kitchen sink had come off when a plastic piece broke. I was unable to find a replacement and found that the wood was too hard to drill through or hammer a nail through and I couldn't figure out how I was going to put this back up. It is also supposed to be able to be removed when work is needed on the plumbing under the sink. When I received this I thought it was the perfect solution if it actually worked, but fully expected it to fall off within a few days. This is a heavy, solid piece of wood and it's on the sink where it gets wet every day. It has been up for awhile and still holds as strong as the first day I put it up. I am truly amazed and loving this product! It's holding strong but can be removed as needed and put right back when done and so much easier than any other options I had considered.

Great Gripping Strength
I am a teacher and used this to secure things to the wall in my classroom. We live in a very humid climate and I cannot get anything to stay on the painted cement block wall. I used this so I can change out my posters for the seasons.

Works For Pool Equipment
Command sent us this product to try for free and do we ever appreciate it. My husband uses this product for hanging all the pool equipment on the side of our wood outdoor shed. Keeps everything where we can get to it instead of all over the place. Stays attached even in the wind. Great product.

Strong Grip!
I volunteer to evaluate products for 3M,and the company recently sent me a free sample of Scotch Extreme Fasteners,1 in x 10 ft.
I use the's extreme fasteners to keep my flatscreen tv safely on the table it sits on and it does not move around anymore.So it is strong and holds on to things well.I also used the fastener to close a pocket on my purse and it works great.The fastener is a very long strip that you cut to the size you want and then you just peel off the paper and stick it on the object you want to hold together,it is like velcro but better because nothing gets stuck oit or to it but the other side.I have a picture to show how we used it to secure my tv.You cannot really see the fastener's pieces but that is what good about it too.It blends in.

Super Strong "Durable" Hold!
I received this product free from 3M and decided to use it to help hold down a rug that lays over some cords that run along the floor. The rug helps to keep us from tripping, but because of the cords ability to move, the rug moves as well. I used the Velcro to fasten down the rug and cord about 2 months ago, and have found it to be working wonderful, no matter the traffic!

A fastener for just about everything!
If you are looking for fasteners for just about any use inside or outside, the Scotch Extreme Fasteners are what you need. We used them outside to hang up some heavy metal signs and they are awesome. The adhesive bonds very well to the surfaces and the amount of weight they can hold is superb. So far they have been resistant to the wet mornings and hot sun during the day. We've found additional uses for hanging up things inside the house as well as using the fastener to seal things (eg. curtain around a window. And while 3M gave me a free sample of this product to evaluate, we really think it's great!

I was sent this product free from 3M to evaluate. This is very useful for many things.
I used this to temporarily fasten down several plastic tarps while moving. In the past I just tucked the tarps under boxes or placed bricks on the tarp to prevent blowing away. I was used to seeing at least part of the items uncovered. When I returned to check my items - what I expected after a windy night was everything uncovered. WOW what I discovered was with the 3M - Scotch™ Extreme Fasteners held tightly. It seemed the tarp didn't even move. The fasteners once placed on the clean tarp and my plastic container was almost unable to open up. I am very impressed the the quality of the "holding" ability. This product is a must for any
household and any professional or handyman.

Strong adhesive!
The adhesive on this product is very strong. I have used it to hold the edges of carpet to floor successfully and also to mount fabric to a flat surface. I would consider this to be some what permanent for mounting - the adhesive is so strong that it will likely pull the finish off anything it is adhered to. I imagine you could use heat and solvents to remove it, if needed.

Easy to Install
First off, there is plenty in this package for whatever your fastening needs. I used for a couple different things. The first to attach something in my truck to the dash. This being the real test as we live in Arizona and the sun loves to melt any adhesives. So far so good there, with the adhesive holding strong as well as the fasteners. The second things I used it on was to attach my sons game case to his PS vita case so he would stop losing the games. It was easy to measure out the length of strips needed and apply to the case. The backing to the adhesives comes off without a struggle allowing for quick application. The only downside I have noticed is that when my son takes his games off the case it is extremely hard for him to get the fastener strips to reattach to each other. He can't do it on his own, I have to help him, and I worry that the amount of force I have to put on the case to push the two strips together will break something. I wonder if these are not really meant for repeated separation of the strips. With that being said the product size is sufficient for any project, easy to apply, and holds extremely well. Overall I am pleased. I was given this product in exchange for my honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the product.

Love this stuff!
I love this stuff! It is heavy duty! I am trying to figure out more uses with it because I love it. The grip it has is great it is a very strong plastic like Velcro that really grabs tight. I will continue to buy this fastener!

Scotch Extreme Fasteners - tight hold
I received this product for free in return for my honest review. Living in Florida, it is difficult to find a product that will hold and stick in the Florida heat and humidity. We used this product to hang solar lights outside on our screen porch. Previous attempts have not lasted very long, they've been easy enough to put up, but fall off quickly due to the heat and humidity. This product seems to be sticking tightly; my husband has even mentioned using it to hang Christmas lights this year.
Velcro products are expensive to purchase. This product comes with 10 feet of one inch Velcro rated to hold ten pounds. This much is enough for several large products and to have on hand in the garage for whenever it is needed so not only is it a pretty good deal but also one of those things you should just have in your garage along with a hammer and screw driver.

Extreme Test
This will be a true test , Holding a 9 pound folding chair. Directions say 1'' for every 3 pounds. So I used 3'' of New Scotch Fasteners Extreme 3X & it is holding for now. --Hint-- chair is only 1'' from the floor, so when it falls off .It's not going to destroy the chair :) I notice the way it is in the package some of the paper is not touching the plastic backing , this might be a problem if it is not used over a long period of time ?

Velcro Straps
3M sent me this Item free to evaluate. We Drag Race. We use tarps alot, by using these Velcro Straps we can cover our car and equipment and the wind doesn't carry them away and everything stays dry.

Works great when properly appled
Success for any tape applied product like this requires proper cleaning and de-greasing. Over years of RC model building, found that basic Lighter Fluid (applied in ventilated area is best and evaporates fast. Over non-smooth surfaces outside, use an old toothbrush. And if this tape fails to hold objects, clean off all tape residues and now apply a light coat of medium CA or Gorilla glue to the new tapes. Hold in place (mask tape Gorilla glue). And don't expect decades of longevity for those outdoor applications exposed to elements of weather.

Awesome holding power!!
I received Scotch™ Extreme Fasteners, 1 in x 10 ft., as a sample to try. I've had it for awhile and couldn't think of a way to use it for sure. Then my cats gave me an idea. I have mats in front of my litter boxes to help trap litter from being tracked all over but the mats rarely stayed in place. So I used this to secure the mats and now they are staying in place!! I didn't use it all so I'm still looking for other uses.

Holds Up Well
I received this free to try and give my opinion on.
It holds up well! This is not like Velcro. The 2 sides snap together to form a strong bond. It's simple to use. Cut them to the desired length, snap them together, remove the paper backing, attach one side to the item and press for 30 seconds to form a bond and then remove the second paper backing and press it in place and hold for 30 seconds to form a bond.
It states that 1" of tape will hold up to 2 pounds. There are 2 rolls in the box, each 5 feet in length. While it forms a strong bond, one downfall is if it is not level, taking it down and moving it can cause damage to walls or surfaces. You need to be exact in placement.
It works well, no tools required, perfect for smaller, lightweight projects. Very much worth the cost and efforts.

Extremely Sturdy
This product is exactly what I expected from Scotch/3M. This stuff is versatile, strong and easy to install. I used it similar to what you see on the package and it worked great. I was able to keep a tarp in place, even with some wind and rain. I am planning on buying more for some other projects where I think this will come in handy. I would definitely recommend this product.

Next level of "velcro"
I love the new extreme fasteners from Scotch. I was given a chance to review the product in exchange for my honest review. I'm super glad I was chosen, because I don't think I would have picked this up otherwise.
Gone is your traditional Velcro that easily wears out after a while. These lock in like velcro, but with super strength. They are made from plastic, so you don't end up with messy threads or loose tiny hooks like Velcro.
I also used it for a great 4 months before I wrote my review because I wanted to make sure it won't wear out after a month or 2. So far, it's still holding strong.
This is a great for if you want to be able to hang or hold something to a wall, with the added flexibility of removing & re-attaching it often.
One of the key features of these fasteners is that there is no "top" and "bottom" like Velcro. Both pieces are the same and you just need to press one piece to the other.
In the past, I have used the lighter duty one to attach a light remote to our wall. I love the concept and that it seems we are evolving from the old Velcro.

This stuff is Amazing!

Holds Securely
The valance brackets for my blinds broke and I was having a difficult time finding replacements. One place I checked suggested using velcro. Scotch Extreme Fasteners were easy to attach and my valance is securely attached to my blinds. Plus I can easily remove the valance if needed. Great solution!

Great strength the way both sides attach.
I was given the sample for testing. I really like that it does not use the fuzzy side that other products use. Makes it stronger when fastening and less likely to wear down. Great to use in garage. The only thing I think could be better is the adhesive side. When i went to pull up portable curb it was the adhesive that came loose. I added a liquid adhesive to reinforce stick-em.

Great alternative to nails and hangers.
I received this item from 3M to test, the first time I tried I only cut a one inch piece for both the wall and the item to attach to which in my case was a small fire extinguisher, when I awoke the next morning I had noticed that the fire extinguisher was on the floor, so I tried again and this time I cut both pices to three inches and that was five days ago and I have not had any problems since, I have removed it from the wall and replaced it without any problems. I would like to emphasize that it may take a little more fastener depending on the size and weight. Otherwise it is a great product to use instead of nails and hangers.

I had a problem with a rug sticking to a step for the dogs doggy door.. Everything came loose.. This sticks great! No more problems and I can still take off and wash it! Didn't put in the dryer but it held up well threw the wash! Great Product!

3M gave me a free sample of the Scotch Extreme Fasteners product to evaluate. I used this product to hold up a white board in my office. It works really well at holding up my white board, but I am also able to remove the board from the wall when it is more convenient to hold it or put it on my desk. I recommend the Scotch Extreme Fasteners product if you want to attach something to the wall but also want to move it from time to time.

Tough Hold
This item was a sample to review provided free for my perusal. It is very tough and just right for holding outside fixtures as it is weatherproof as well. I let my daughter use part of this length to hold the corners to the truck bed cover. The other we used to help hold a cover on a parked vehicle that was continually blowing off.

I got this item as a sample and it blew my mind away with how well it works. At first I wasn’t sure what I could use it on but shortly after that, my car got broken into and realized that my car’s sun visor was broken in the process. It no longer stayed up in place. I used less than an inch of this product. (About half an inch on both ends and it held the visor in place without a single problem. It definitely is strong and it was absolutely no problem sticking onto fabric.

Excellent Product Provides Grip When Velcro Fails
So far, I’m impressed with 3M’s Extreme Fastener. Although it is similar to traditional hook-and-loop fasteners (i.e., Velcro), it is superior in many respects and fills a much-needed role for many common situations. Although Velcro still has its place in the home and workshop, this product was made for the outdoors.
Dirt and moisture are the greatest nemesis of hook-and-loop technology, as either will temporarily render the fastener ineffectual during exposure and in the case of gritty sand, permanently clog the material to render it completely useless. The fuzzy loop fabric easily captures dirt and sand, thereby inhibiting the ability of the hoop fabric to obtain a decent grip. 3M’s Extreme Fastener avoids contamination of the fuzzy stuff altogether by eliminating it altogether. Instead, the product relies upon two identical interlocking surfaces bonded onto what appears to be VHB tape backing. Even wet, the hooks will grip each other firmly. Fine sand and dirt fall harmlessly between the hooks. Slightly grittier desert sand will still manage to collect, but it can readily be brushed free of the material.
Some things to consider; a) like typical hook-and-loop products, 3M’s Extreme Fastener comes with two rolls… but they’re identical, b) load-bearing capacity as stated on the package is a tad confusing, claiming both a 10-lb limit but also stipulating 2 lbs per inch, c) like Velcro, there is no alignment requirement - it will hold together regardless of the orientation of the two surfaces, and d) it requires significant pressure to engage the two mating pieces, more so than hook-and-loop.
On that last point, it seems to engage easier if you “walk” the two opposing pieces together in a heel-toe fashion. To take apart, pulling directly apart seems to work best. Sheer strength is maximal, whereas tension is minimal - something to consider if you’re intending to suspend something overhead from the ceiling… DON’T!
I’m very pleased with this product and intend to keep one roll in the motorhome and the other in my toolbox. Only time will tell how well the adhesive holds up under extreme weather conditions. If it's still holding in a year, I'll come back and give it a 5-star rating.
