For the price I pay I should get what I'm supposed to. I'm not happy. It's the same for the color cartridges too. They aren't expected to give 2200 pages but they run out really quick. What's going on?

I print a lot of patterns every day along with business receipts, pictures, etc. and it keeps up its end. It doesn't smear or cake and it is very crisp looking. I like that very much. A very good buy!

I don't know of other choices, but the cartridges Do Not make anywhere near 2200 copies....My printer prints a report of how many copies have been printed. I had my original cartridges another set of non-XL, a set of XL, and now my second set of XL since my printer was new. Totally my printer has only printed 2097 copies. No, nowhere near the advertized number of copies for either the regular 940 nor the 940 XL.! Any suggestions?

The most amazing feature is the network connection which enables me to scan, fax or print from anywhere in the house without having to make trips to plug and unplug my laptop for these tasks. The apps too is an added bonus. I have been recommending it to everybody I know. Haven't had anybody express regret.

I do normal family printing, printing of regular pictures for foster children's scrap books, coupons and such and go through a ream of paper a month. I have gone through several reams of paper and still using the same cartridge.

The customer service were very nice and made sure the replacements were shipped out quickly. When I finally received the cartridges I installed the black one and my printer screen said it was an unauthorized cartridge!!! and I had voided my warranty. I was advised by experienced folks that printer repairs sometimes cost more than buying a new one. So I bought a new printer to avoid a lot of hassle as I had to print some things urgently by then. Now I have two full and two half cartridges which I cannot use! Anyone need 940's????

The part where the ink comes out was not metal, but clear tapewith a hole in it!!! It had a piece of masking tape over this to seal the ink. It didn't work as the ink congealed. I'm sticking with HP.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just buy a new printer... Bought this and black ink as replacement for HP Officejet 8500a. Put in all 4 new cartridges. Never before had problem with the printer. Now it won't work right. Attempts to align printhead every time I print. Called tech support because performing 'clean printhead' utilized so much ink from new catridges, the printer is now saying yellow ink is low. HP CS advice, buy a new printer. I think the point is that HP knows the printers only last so long. And I got 6 good years out of this one. But why continue to sell ink with no recourse for the buyer who gets the ink and then the printer goes bad. Maybe it's even the new cartridges making the printer go bad??? Seems like a good way to sell new printers would be sell bad cartridges. $115 + 7% sales tax for new useless cartridges, one of which is empty because of trying to repair the printer. The CS agent then offered to sell me a printer "as a deal because I was a loyal customer." She quoted me the same price that the printer was selling for online. Bottom line, after 4 years or so, just throw away the printer and buy a new one. That's ultimately what HP thinks is best for the customer and environment.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not sure if it's the ink I had an HP multifunction printer that was working fine. The ink ran low, but not out in all four cartridges. I ordered $150 worth of genuine HP inkjet cartridges, received them, installed them, and within 1 week, the printer stopped working. I tried everything I could think of- cleaning cycles 1-3, contacting support etc. Their suggestion was that my printer was old and that was that. Whatever it was, I have left HP and gone to Brother. I used to be a solid HP guy, but the last 3 printers I've had have given me headaches. I bought a Brother laser monochrome printer that has been fantastic, and now, I've replaced my HP Multifunction with a Brother inkjet Multifunction. It's working great and it scans fast. Their support is solid. It's sad that after 30 years, HP is done here, but I have to go with what works.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from good this product works well in my hp officejet printer. i like that it has a high capacity so it lasts a long time. the ink is pretty high quality so it doesn't look funny either. it is a bit expensive, but i found that cheap ink is just that, cheap. so it is better to get hp's ink even if it costs a bit more.

This cartridge just won't die on me! Although it's a little more than what a consumer typically expects to pay, don't let the price tag fool you. I've gone through more than 3 reams of paper and I'm still printing on this one cartridge on NORMAL mode! Just imagine how long I'd print using Draft/Economy! I am impressed with the amount of pages one of these cartridges will print. And, my Ink Jet 8500 printer works fabulously. I am surprised it takes all the scanning, faxing and printing I require, and does not skip a beat. I just purchased another HP computer and the newest model of InkJet printer for my office. This is my 4th HP device I have bought this year. Good stuff!

It constantly cleans the printheads using a lot of ink. I always get errors as Windows 7 can't seem to find a printer driver. I tried a non-HP ink once and had to replace the printheads because they got ruined. It also lost quality with the non-HP ink. On the positive side, this all-in-one can do anything! The output in either printing our photographs is beautiful. 'nuff said, "Love It But Frustrated!"

I will never buy refilled cartidges. or other so called brands that are supposed to give quality as they always fall short. I print 550 8 page newsletters for our community every month, on a HP officejet pro 8000.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It lasted for printing 4 pages After having printed only 4 pages, the next time I went to use it I received an error on the printer saying the cartridge was either out of ink or something was wrong with the cartridge. I was very disappointed. HP would not replace as it had been over 21 days since I had ordered the cartridges :(

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Doesn't perform to my expectation I do not get the extended use out of this product that I expected. I am disappointed due to costs versus perrmance. I think the promotions should be more specific and accurate in estimating useage. I am normally getting around 1000 pages out of a cartridge. So the ink cost for me is running around 4 cents per page w/o paper costs and other colored ink costs. We print out most e-mails received, we do a lot of document writing... both my wife and I... this makes this printer a VERY expensive machine to operate.

All 4 "separate" ink cartridges are superior in color and long lasting. Great for photos when printing. I have owned other computer printers, and have found HP the best. The colors are true i.e. yellow is yellow, where with other printers, they don't hold to the true yellow color. The best part is, HPXL ink cartridges DO last a long time, even though they are pricey, compared to other printer brands. They hold lots more ink then the other brands, and they don't dry up in printer if not used daily, weekly, or monthly. I've had my HP Officejet Pro 8000 printer 4 years and haven't had to replace the ink head! Great Product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best value for the money. This is a the very best value for the money for merely 10 dollars more you get double the amount of ink. I have the HP 8500 printer and this Cartridge lasts much longer then the standard. If you want to get the best value this is it. Also make sure when you are buying the color cartridges get the 940xl versions as well. I just wish HP would sell the XL's in a combination pack like they do their smaller cartridges come in. Buying the ink directly from hp's website is the very best way to buy their ink. They have great prices and ship right away. They are very professional to work with. I will only buy my ink directly from them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from almost gone after 20 pages I bought this two weeks ago and it is almost gone. I have printed approximately 20 pages and all four replacement cartridges have drained. I have changed what pages I have used and tried cleaning the heads and many other suggestions. I have had much better luck with HP in the past and would recommend it to anyone but this has me very upset.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Disappointed I bought this about a month ago now, along with cyan, magenta, and yellow for a total of $180.00. The black is close to half full. The yellow is already going to run out soon and right behind it is the cyan and magenta, I printed a test page, aligned the printer when I first installed the new ink which gave me another quality test page, switched my settings for my printer to print all black ink from that point on and printed about 7 to 10 school worksheets for my kids and this ink is pretty much out already???? Wow. Very disappointed.

However, the cost of print heads and ink combined was more than the cost of a new printer with extra ink. This will likely be the last printer I purchase that uses ink cartridges.

I was promised next day delivery. It took longer than that, but the ink arrived, and it works great! The black is really black! I couldn't be happier! Since they were only in the black examples and not all examples that used the black/yellow printhead, I determined the ink was malfunctioning. It wasn't showing as empty on my diagnosis but it was a very old cartridge so may have dried and clogged.
