The Hitachi Resource Manager utility package provides essential functions for the management of individual Hitachi storage systems. It also contains an advanced set of tools for third party application integration and optimization.
Resource Manager provides both a web-accessible graphical management interface and a command line interface (CLI) to allow easy management of Hitachi storage systems. It is used to map security levels for SAN ports and virtual ports, for inter-array path mapping and RAID-level configurations, for LUN expansion and for Data Retention Utility LUN configurations (e.g. WORM configuration). It also includes performance management and troubleshooting capabilities for the storage system.
Depending on the storage system being managed, Resource Manager supports and configures storage for both mainframe and open systems and includes tools to enhance third party application integration including: SNMP Agents and MIBs for Hitachi storage systems, VSS support for Microsoft Exchange, NDMP and advanced serverless backup support, and advanced support for Oracle.
