WebShield SMTP is designed to scan all inbound and outbound e-mail traffic passing through an SMTP e-mail gateway. The scanning process works transparently to end-users in the network. Once a virus is detected, WebShield can automatically clean or quarantine a file then send alerts to system administrators. WebShield SMTP also provides content filtering to stop virus hoaxes. Outbreak Manager, that automatically monitors your servers for virus outbreaks and completes history log, acts as an audit trail for tracking down the virus origin. WebShield SMTP is a firewall independent scanner that can easily plug into virtually any existing network framework. This is accomplished by implementing a gateway virus scanner that essentially acts like your existing SMTP gateway.
