The SPIKECUBE Surge Suppressor from Tripp Lite is a direct plug-in suppressor providing protection on one AC outlet. I recently had a new garage door opener installed and the installer recommended I get a one outlet surge protector to protect the garage door opener and not have the expense of a new garage door opener should a surge occur. So I did some research on single outlet surge protectors and found the SpikeCube was a very good surge protector so I purchased and installed it and now have peace of mind. I have other larger Tripp-Lite surge protectors that have done a wonderful job for years and I expect the SpikeCube to do a great job as well.

I had not been using any surge protector for these machines, which where probably generating lots of spikes on my home electrical system. It is difficult to know how much these devices are helping/improving or protecting, but I am very happy to have them. I recommend !

The diagnostic LED lights is a plus as I know it is functioning properly. Its compact design is nice. 3 improvements I'd like to recommend. 1 a lower let through voltage. 2 no voltage to the connected load when the spike cube is compromised. 3 lower clamping voltage.

Within six months of purchasing several of these Spikecubes we experienced a thunderstorm with severe lightning, four of the spikecubes were fried, saving the appliances that were plug into them. They saved me untold amounts of money and aggravation. When I contacted Tripp-lite they sent me replacement spikecubes. Great product and amazing customer service. I highly recommend Tripp-lite products.

It's indicator LEDs make it easy to know that the appliances are protected at a glance. After doing a lot of research on the different surge protector manufacturers out there, Tripp Lite was the only company I felt I could trust. I don't work for them or anything, just someone who had trouble with surge suppressors in the past, and realized quickly that the products are only as good as the company that stands behind them. For future upgrades to the product, I would like something that easily plugs into both outlets at the same time and provides you with two outputs to match the typical wall electrical outlet.

When I had to add a cable box I swapped this with its 3 outlet sibling I was using for a laptop. This also works well with the laptop. I can't be sure because I don't know if I've had a surge or not, but it's nice to know it's there if it does happen. Only improvement I can think of is I wish it could handle 220v. Blew a circuit breaker at the Intercontinental in London because I plugged it into a three prong without realizing it was 220v instead of 120v. There were two three prong and I had been using the one that was 120v. Found out the other one was 220v.

I chose the familiar name of Tripp-Lite to protect my garage door opener. I like the small size and the green and red lights that can easily be seen. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because I haven't had a power surge to verify it provides the protection I purchased it for. It is a perfect solution for my opener.

She sits at kitchen table and does her work. She use to charge it on kitchens counter. Now it's plugged into Tripp-lite to charge and is well protected. I hear it even has an insurance policy of $5000 if something happened to the Apple Air. That's unbelievable, all for like $10-$11.00. Unheard of. Thanks Tripp-Lite. I tell people about it all the time. How can you afford not to use this?

Power handling capacity (Joules) is reasonable. Price is fair. Construction quality is quite good. Technical performance would need to be measured during an event so the consumer cannot really rate this other than evaluating the technical information sheet (which I did). I purchased 8 of these units in a recent wholesale replacement of our secondary surge protectors. They were one of three different types of solutions purchased and installed.
