Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tripplite 1500VA UPS Fails after 3 Years, 8 months This product has all the features I needed and worked flawlessly for 3 years, 8 months. One morning the computer and monitors would not power up and the problem turned out to be the UPS. All the power protected outlets were dead. Turning the UPS OFF and ON did not fix the problem and the self test did not indicate any issues. The warranty period is 3 years. Tripplite technical support suggested that the UPS should be replaced.

It allows me to hear the audible alert and safely shut the workstation down. I wish the unit offered auto shut down and a slightly longer work time, but other than that, works great.

It does have a low hum, that gets a lot louder when the power is out. Because of the hum I would not want to use it on my work computer.

I own three (3) of the OmniVS 120 volt 1,500VA 940W UPS units and several other Tripp-Lite products (Isobars, Line Conditioners, etc.) and have received years of excellent service. The large chemical company I worked at for decades always used the Tripp-Lite power Line Conditioners with numerous expensive lab equipment (gas chromatographs, Infrared spectrophotometers, etc.). I use them for protecting my computer systems and as backup power to my extensive CCTV security system. I live in a small town with many power issues (major power surges, blackouts, etc.) throughout the year, so circuit surge protection and dependable power backup is an ongoing concern. I have used Tripp-Lite power regulation products for decades and have found them to be well-built, high-quality construction and have never disappointed. Highly recommended!
