Rated 2 out of 5 by Not the experience I hoped for Didn't have trouble setting it up, but have not been able to access the device through the app when I'm away from home, only when I'm on my own wifi at home. At home I can just get up and control my lights the old fashioned way. It does work on the schedule I set for it but if I want to alter that while away from home I can't. You can buy much cheaper, non-wifi devices that control on/off functions, they've been around for years. This device was supposed to provide more than that. I haven't tried pairing it with Alexa yet. Rated 5 out of 5 by I have three and love them The only difficulty I had was getting the email confirmation. Our server at work blocked it. So I changed to my gmail account and it was perfect. Sync with Alex as easy so now I can be lazy and just talk to Alexa and not even pick up my phone. And I am 65 years old so if I can do it... January 17, 2017
Rated 1 out of 5 by Won't work with my echo I bought this to use with my echo. I love the idea that I wouldn't need to purchase expensive smart light bulbs for it. Unfortunately, the set up failed as I was informed that the link needed to set up a cloud had expired. The kasa app is supposed to alkow,for the email to be resent but it doesn't. I left feedback but haven't heard back. I am planning g on returning g it and buying the expensive bulbs January 11, 2017
Rated 3 out of 5 by 1 of 4 out. I bought two 2 packs of switches. 3 of 4 are still working, 1 failed to connect after a couple days of use. It still works via "local connection only", through the Kasa app but using Alexa says to check my network connection and/or ensure the device is plugged in. I tried resetting on the switch itself( lights never went blinking green to orange< stayed green>, deleting the device from Kasa and from Alexa App and no changes, this must be a defective one. I did all the trouble shooting several times but no luck. High tech proficiency. January 10, 2017
Rated 3 out of 5 by Setup Easy but No Apple HomeKit Support; Limited Utility I have several TP-LINK products and they work well so I chose the TP-LINK plug. Unfortunately, I assumed that since the smart plug supported Alexa, that it would already support Apple HomeKit since it has a much larger customer base. The assumption was not correct. I went through setup which was quite simple and the app looks great but the switch is not compatible with Apple HomeKit, thus it is not really useful to me and my home automation needs. Hopefully, there will one day be a TP-LINK product that does. January 9, 2017

Rated 1 out of 5 by Will Not Connect Yes - I tried resetting (10 seconds top button)... yes, I tried to reconnect- yes, I thought it might be the password *it is not*; yes I tried to completely start over - yes, it is a dual 2.4 and 5 gHZ modem... both the :smart" plug and the modem are in the same room together - I have done all of this. The light does not reflect what the app says... THEN - it did - an hour later it indicated connected??!! And when I went to use the app to turn on the device, the app stated I had to wait until I was connected to the home wifi to ensure remote control is enabled.... I am sitting here on wifi (in the same room as noted as the wifi) and the phone is connected (?!?!?!?) Between this and the complaints evident that this device is not rated for the usage (under IEEE, UL/CSA/ISO certification and will fry at >600W's (the math is 120VAC*15AAC = 1800W), I shall not be buying another Look: Easy to use - rated and safe - those are basics to customer satisfaction in any business... most especially when it is new and (relatively) cutting edge. Rated 1 out of 5 by Trouble from the get-go Set up watch hit and miss. Finally got it up and running and then the next day was unable to access from app. Pop-up says "Remote Control Disabled - You can enable Remote Control when you're connected to your home Wi-Fi." Well, I was and thought I still was, but there is no documentation or help on how to reconnect in this situation. Simply a big hassle and not likely to buy their products again. Plus, as others have said, takes up two outlets. December 31, 2016
