Rated 5 out of 5 by The 9170 has brought much needed stability to our power infrastructure. We have ours currently configured at 12Kw. I recommend that if you are implementing any enterprise UPS, be thoughtful about how you configure the device with regards to power hook ups. We purchased a configuration which had NEMA 20's already hardwired into the back of the power distribution panel. It took minutes to hook up and operationalize, however we learned that we could not have a "by-pass switch" wired into the UPS. Therefore any maintenance which needs to be performed on the unit must be done while the unit is not under load. If we purchased the separate power distribution panel and hardwired the device into it, we could have added a bypass switch which would have allowed the UPS to be bypassed during maintenance. Also be mindful of the power balance. There is an A circuit and a B circuit. Make sure you have an even load across both to avoid issues. Our vendor recommended no more than a 15% variance between the two. July 17, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Installed this unit in January. So far so good. The only downside for me is that Spiceworks thinks the UPS is old and needs to be replaced. For some reason it thinks it is a failing device. Other than that the utilities are good and we should get some good power out of it. I like the power manager software as well. May 14, 2012
