It didn't, the phone would even stay in the holster. So I threw the holster in the trash. I am done with you people.

My husband who is an Union Ironworker needs a case on his phone that matches his roughness at work. The first outterbox he owned he put through some pretty bad roughness and from that moment on he will not buy any other case for his phone.

No loss of signal with the Defender cover on. I had a metal cover before I got this one it was held together with six screws. I didn’t realise how much signal you loose. Although The defender is at a higher price than other covers it’s well worth paying extra for piece of mind that your phone is well protected.

It was a challenge to put it on but watching a youtube video helped greatly. The video explained how to release the rubber casing around the plastic case which wasn't in the directions included with the case. I haven't used the included cover but having that along with the tripod stand/belt clip is a nice extra. I also wouldn't have known about the stand without watching the youtube video. Great product...can't imagine a better protecting cover.

Only a week after getting my new cell phone, while shopping at my local Kroger grocery store another shopper accidentally bumped into me causing me to DROP my iPhone 6s!! Scared me thinking that I might break my new cell phone and be stuck buying another cell phone! Highly recommend Otterbox to protect my Iphone from either a broken screen, water, or my rough life in general. It cost about $40 more, so I got it. Well, within 6 months it had a cracked screen. I’ve been using Defender cases since my iPhone 4 and have never damaged a phone! This includes drops from a 12 ft. ladder, catching it on girders and ceiling joists, just about anything you can imagine! It’s not totally waterproof, so I don’t carry it in the pool or surf. No, it’s not the most chic case in the world, but I have a phone, not a fashion accessory,

Got myself a new phone and when mine came I put it on my phone. I found the same one was on sale again which is the gray and lime green so ordered another. Hopefully, this one will last until I decide to upgrade my phone.

The belt clip is 1) too small for a 2in belt and 2) broke after less than a year. So, I bought a new one from Otterbox. If that brakes in less than a year, I will look for another safety device for me phone.

I like the holster because of its convenience for those who don't want to carry a phone in a pocket. My big complaint, however, is that the holster inevitably breaks at some point, due to the limited fatigue life of the plastic. On the iPhone 5 holster, I had to replace the holster 3 times in five years due to the phone clip tab breaking off. My iPhone 6 holster lasted just over a year before the pivot for the belt clip cracked. I'd be willing to pay more for a holster of this type if it were made of a more durable material with a longer fatigue life...say carbon fibre.

When it came, it was the wrong size. My fault. Didn't know it was a 6s plus which is bigger than a 6s. Called customer service to find out about returning it and getting the correct size. The representative asked what happened to the original clip. When I told her it cracked, she said it was under warranty. I also told her that I noticed that as I took apart the case, the top lip of the case was cracked and it fell out after I peeled the rubber back. She said that would be covered too. What a nice surprise! It's a work phone and it's used constantly all day for years. I didn't want to order a generic brand or get a thin case seeing how well the Otter protected my phone all these years. If I damage my work phone, I have to pay for a new one. Otter is an awesome product that protects under constant use and the clip lasted for years under being unclipped and clipped all day. What a great product and great customer service to back it up!

I purchased the second because I broke the plastic holster through fault of my own. After breaking the second holster, I decided to visit otter box website and discovered that I could buy just a replacement holster from them instead of getting another. I mistakenly clicked the wrong one and after calling Otter Box, they kindly remedied the problem and then sent me a spare too. I will always have a Otter Box defender for my phone no matter what kind of phone I have in the future.

The old case was beat up but my phone was pristine once I removed the Otterbox. What great protection! If this new case ever wears out I will certainly buy another!

My phone has been run over, bounced off the Tahoe’s engine fan, dropped off a twenty foot ladder, dropped in the washwell of my boat and yet the phone is in pristine condition. Would not own a phone without one! Evidently, I am not hard enough on my phone. Where the case eventually did show some cracking and the screen cover was foggy, my phone lives!

My slight disappointment is the loss of sensitivity when applying pressure with my fingers to use the phone. Additional pressure is required because the Defender's cover is in addition to my screen cover. Using the phone requires more time and more attention to accuracy. I am not sure how this problem could be relieved.

The screen protector had abraded to the point I could hardly see thru it. So I ordered a new 6/6R defender, only to discover, upon receipt, the delivered case was larger than my phone. After contacting customer service for information about returning the new purchase, the service rep told me the proper case was no longer available for purchase, but Otterbox warranty would provide a new case for the shipping fee. Yea Otterbox - well done indeed. Thank you.

Only 1 concern.....the Silicone outer cover needs to cover the edges of the Front Screen Protector better. I set my iPhone Face Down when I'm not using it. It rests on the Lip of the Front Screen Polycarbonate Shell instead of the Silicone outer shell. This makes it too slippery on my desk. It needs a tad more Silicone overlap on the Front Screen Protector edge to give it better traction.

I’m hard on a phone, and even the Otterbox screen becomes too scratched to use after time. This last purchase was my first direct from Otterbox - the others were through Amazon. The higher quality of this last phone case makes me wonder if 2nd party vendors are given a poorer quality product to sell. The home button cover actually allows the fingerprint ID to work, the rubber surround fits tighter and feels more resilient, and I like the color!

I would rather buy a new otter box than a new phone. My last one lasted over 4 years, so less than a dollar a month. Well worth it and the days it took me hunt a new case down. I can’t imagine getting a case that isn’t an otter box. You make a superior product.

I was offered a $10 coupon if I registered for online offers but it was not applied to my order supposedly because the phone case was already discounted. The original price was $49 dollars and I paid $34 dollars for a $24 dollar case. My bad!!! Additionally the case muffles the volume on the phone.

This is the second Defender series we've had, as we had the iPhone 4 before. I've dropped my phone a few times and we have 2 kids. We've always had the Otterbox on our phones and iPad and, when we've taken the Otterbox off, the items still look new. I highly recommend Otterbox for any electronic device you have, if they make one for your device.

Eventually, all the stress on the plastic tab that snaps it tight into the black holster caused the single tab to break. Natural. I bought a new one. The rubbery bit of the Defender is expanding over time, and snapping it into the case WITHOUT putting extra stress on the tab requires extra focus. No biggie. I squeeze maximums out of tech - since, like THE IBM 'PC’. Anyway, I'm happy with functional products that operate reasonably within limits. 5 stars.

Someone else helped me separate the shell components. After installing the IPhone 6 in the case, it fits very well and all of the connector openings for charging, changing to vibration etc. are fine. Overall this case provides excellent protection as I have dropped the phone a few times and there has been no damage to the phone or screen. Do not use fingerprint on the phone so not sure if you may have to resubmit your print with this screen. Overall I believe it to be a good investment and would recommend this case for IPhone 6 users.

However, there continues to be a problem with the two tabs on the clip that capture the metal pin. They are under-designed and too fragile. They tend to wear and split open over time and allow the metal spring to become displaced or fall out, rendering the holster unusable. I'm on my third holster! The tabs could easily be made much wider, and the pin slightly longer, thus a much more durable assembly.

I was delighted that I could purchase just the holster since there was nothing wrong with the case on my phone; which I've had for 2 1/2 years. This product had done a great job protecting my iPhone. I love that I can clip my phone to my pocket or waist. The only negative thing I can say is the cover that protects the screen is a little funky. I cut it out and use the glass one from another manufacturer in its place.

But, this is the fourth holster I have had, because the top clip has failed three times before due to plastic fatigue from repeated use. Otterbox would do well to reinforce at that critical point to lengthen the holster's life.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not What I Expected , But Still an Otterbox When I bought my original defender case and holster, the holster clip rotated.I've broke two of them, so rather than buy a whole new set, I ordered the replacement holster. The clip on this is stationary and does not move. Getting the phone out is extremely awkward, the release tab is at the back, and if your sitting down, you can't get the phone out. Hopefully it will be easier as I break it in. Next time I will spend $50 to get the entire package

Debating returning this item... it seems when I just preliminary looked it over, and tried it on a few minutes, that the whole thing weights so much on top of the phone weight, that I don't know that it will comfortable for my wrists... while looking protective and durable... not sure. Disappointed that you have to go looking up how to install it.. it came in it's pieces/ in plastic slip bags, thrown into a parcel post envelope. For someone who is starting out with this stuff, it was a let -down. I'm debating the return for all these reasons. thanks for listening.

There were lots of choices out there, but in the end, I had to go with the original. Too many “mights” and “maybes.” Didn’t have to worry about that with the original. The couple of extra bucks is worth it to me.

I have been the owner of an otter box Defender case and clip for the past ten Years love the case, it has kept my phone in tip top condition, the holster on the other hand has been a source of agony, I have purchased at least six of the holsters because of the clip breaking just from getting tugged at with a little bit of forced.If there was a way to make an improvement on the holster’s clip you would have me for life. But the cost may Drive me away. Overall the product rates an eight out of a possible Ten. ten.

The flange clip is not very durable and one must be bery careful not to get it hooked on anything or it will break. I bought it because I still have the otter case which is very good and seems to protect my phone from drops excellently. But the holder is just so so.

Since this case isn't waterproof those need to be open. Also didn't care for the plastic cover over the screen. Ordered a replacement but asked for the wrong size. Not worth sending back and my son-in-law has that size phone anyway. Great product just be careful when ordering. Might be better if made from composite material and stronger then plastic. But that would cause it to be more expensive. Maybe an option.

It doesn't seem to record through it very well and is intermittent in recognition. I keep my phone locked and use the fingerprint to open it rapidly. Now I try the recognition multiple times and then still have to enter my pass code. Very frustrating.

I have bought & paid for this new Holster HOPING it will secure over belt better. It has slipped off twice in about 10 days. At work I keep iPhone in top left pocket of safety vest, NOT in holster on my belt.

The spring loaded clip simply sheared off when I attempted to remove the phone from the case while it was on my hip. Luckily at least the otter box case appeared to have prevented any damage to the phone when it hit the concrete. Fingers crossed that the same issue does not recur.

This case will let it do that, and still give you easy access to all of the controls and features of the phone. There's one drawback: it turns a very slim, light-weight and elegant product into a brick. For me, it was a worthwhile trade-off.

The Defender case is great, very protective of my phone when I have dropped on hard surfaces. Hope the replacement holster last longer than the original holster.

It fits nicely in the holster which is comfortable to wear and never gets in the way. I love the fact that a replacement holster is able to be purchased separately as I had recently broke the clip on the old one.

He goes through many holsters as they seem to break at the clip in the center. One time the belt clip broke. Not sure what could be done to make it sturdier. I always keep an extra to replace at a moment's notuce. I only recommend because it's the only option for the case.

I enjoy the security of having the iPhone easily within reach, yet safely cradled in this holster. I am not totally pleased because each of the first two I’ve used have broken the tab that grips the center of one side of the iPhone. I’m very careful in removing and placing the iPhone back into its holster. It apparently flexes just enough that over time, it snaps off, making the holster unusable.

On a previous phone I used 5 cheap copies that all broke the first time I brushed against anything. I bought the OtterBox holster next and for the next two phones. They are well worth the price paid.

I was thrilled to find just the belt clip available for order (separate from the phone case). I ordered it and I love it! Clip can be rotated any direction to clip in any direction, and doubles as a kickstand/easel, which is nice (although I have yet to utilize it that way). My only complaints are that the back covers the whole back of the phone, which means that to use the camera you have to remove it from the holster. Also, the power and headphone jack ports are near impossible to open unless you remove it from the holster as well. A little modification for those two things would make it nearly perfect!

My phone is a 6S Plus, and I wasn't paying close attention as I was so heart set on getting a white holster. I was thrilled when I found the white one and I placed my order. I used my phone for business and I am on the road 80% of the time. She recommended Otterbox and I was impressed with the protection of the phone and the belt clip that doesn't come loose. I have broken 2 belt clips from carrying heavy loads and resting them on my hip. Otterbox is the most durable protection I have ever used and I am now a loyal customer.

The only thing I am grateful for was that I didn't have to purchase another whole case. Otterbox needs to improve on the quality of holsters to insure drop protection the same way as phones. I find the holster, or what I call "the clip," very useful. When I am without it, I find it a bit of a nuisance carrying the phone when I am out and about. I do find the holster does a few weak spots, and the user may need to keep in mind. The clip will lock itself in the open position which can be a problem at times.

However, I periodically have to replace the plastic holster due to breakage. I have had the clip snap in half numerous times when getting caught on a coat or seatbelt and I'm constantly replacing it. I think a better solution might be to make the clip and holster out of aluminum rather than plastic. It would solve this problem.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Had to replace this belt holster I have had a number of otter box defenders and they have protected my phone a number of times , I use the belt holster often , a few weeks ago I clipped it in the holster and the phone fell to the floor , the clip part at the top had cracked and allowed the phone to fall out . I just bought this replacement and will ensure it's solid before go anywhere as I don't want to lose my phone , the phone case itself has been great I would still recommend the box to friends not sure about the belt holster

Only problem, is the phone gets cold and the NimH batteries die. An armored pouch maintaining an internal temp of 20• C would be a great addition to your product line.

I use this holster to carry and protect my iPhone which is in turn protected by an OtterBox Defender case. I clip it to an 1 1/4" wide leather belt so that my phone is always available and I don't have to worry about it falling out of a pocket. Great product and excellent protection.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I-Phone 6 Holster Although I believe these is one of the most efficient ways to carry your I-Phone, it still needs to be improved around the belt clip. If you accidentally let it fall onto the floor or it falls off your Belt while bending, the loop that attaches to the belt will brake. Causing it not to be able to use it again and or fix. The manufacturer or company Otterbox.com needs to improve the area of the holster. It should hold much more securely your I-Phone by providing a alternative full loop, if you want to secure properly your I-Phone. Otherwise, chances of losing your I-Phone can be possible. My first experience with an Otterbox was a free gift inside a give away at a sporting event, since then before I upgrade my phone I purchase an Otterbox case first before the new phone arrives. I have never experienced a broken phone with the protection of an Otterbox holster and case! My Otterbox holster never leaves my side, the design is like no other. My phone fits snugly and I have never had my phone slip out without me releasing it first. If my Otterbox holster happens to breaks they replace it for only the cost of shipping. I cannot stress how much I love my Otterbox defender case and holster, it has been the best purchase for the protection of my IPhone and I will not ever change to any other brand!

Apparently because I like to put my phone in the clip with the face up, not down. The reason is that I have a mount on my bike that I place the phone in order to use the GPS app as I ride. The phone seems to be a bit tighter when mounted in the clip this way and must have caused the flange to break off after a long period of constant use.

The holster clips have only lasted 12, 14 and 16 months respectively. Since it is an older phone, now Best Buy doesn't carry the compete holder, but, luckily Otter still offers the holster part which is all I need.

While I might have missed the fact that the holster device is included with the Defender Otterbox, now you don't need to have an extra holster device to return, which will shave $5.00 off your refund.
